Building a mild 302 in my fox since I blew my old one up. I’m just a broke college kid but it’s been a great project so far. Following this channel really helps. I also live in waco TX witch is 10 minutes from LMR so that’s nice.

On that top plate I used to paint them black then take a block wrapped with a rag soaked in thinner and wipe off the raised areas while it was still wet. A flat belt sander works well too and helps keep the brushed finish.

The Duplicolor wheel paint HWP101 Silver wheel paint is real close to the stock color. It has that goldish tint in it like the originals. I found this by accident since for some reason I have so much of this paint laying around. I painted my Explorer intake with it as well for a more stock look on my 89 LX.

What up , hows going ? I'm surprised at that aircraft stripper I've used it and it works well.. you need to read the directions on the paint cans if it says to paint in between 2 temperature ( 65-75) follow that and you can put the paint cans in warm water for a few minutes, it thins the paint a little better spray

Painting engine parts is always so rewarding because the finish can be shit but it will still look a million times better than before lol. The only slight problem is not being able to breathe halfway through because there's so many fumes in the garage lol

I’d paint those engine pieces inside the garage or basement with a mask 😷 on. Since it’s Spring time. Theres a lot of pollen in the air and it will get into the fresh paint 🎨 job.

Bought a set of phone dial wheels yesterday someone painted them grey I'm going to take paint off clean them up get a new set of lug covers and throw a set of Goodyear st white letters on them. Plan is to run them on my car temporary then sale them at a swap or something. I have to 10th anniversary cobra on the car now but I plan to 5 lug the car and we are building my sons 83 vert right now so the 10th anniversary wheels are going on the vert. Then when that cars done and we build mine i will 5 lug and buy new wheels for mine. I wanted the same set up as anniversary wheels in a black face torque thrust style but after seeing the wheels u went with I'm kinda in between the wide and wider look or the skinny fatty look like you did. My anniversary wheels are 9 inch front and 10 inch deep dish rear. What u think bud. It's a hatch lx like yours.
