The lack of screaming and chaos is odd and unnerving. I sat at a desk the 1st night and when I retook the ASVAB. I don't remember many more times. Of course this was June 1986 and ALOT has changed.

@@amaliya.jovanovski it's 80% to 90% mental challenge. Yeah, you can't pass if you aren't physically fit, but even fit people won't pass if they don't have the mindset.

I hope it's because the camera are on , the Drill instructors are soft and the recruits are undisciplined. It's like watching Army boot camp

Damn... I'm about to be that old guy in the comments... I remember when I was in Fox Company, in Parris Island... November 2005. I never thought when I was there that I would still be in the Marine Corps today, November 2022. This life is wild..

Being a DI from this company in this video...trust me when i say the dis toned down because of the cameras.

1st Battalion Delta Co. 1997 Parris Island. Yup, it's a different world once those cameras are off. If these videos showed exactly what really happens, trust me, no one would join. Back in my day there were 5 recruits in my platoon that got pushed off that tower because they didn't want to go down. They won't show that on here. How come these recruits aren't screaming at the top of their god damn lungs?

I went to PI in 1956. I cannot believe these videos are USMC boot camp! There was never an instant where we could stop with our hands on hips waiting for the guy in front of us to finish an obstacle. We had to keep going, push him out of the way, or do push-ups while waiting and DI’s always screaming at you and physically pushing you to move. This looks like it could be Air Force style.

I go in less then half I weak and I just can't wait, I'm so bord and just ready to go.

I remember doing this but they did give u chairs so when u were out before u did your photo id they gave u a huge sheet to do personal information like what your social and your nationality is and stuff

I don't remember simulated gunfire. All we had was them playing sounds from saving private Ryan over a speaker.

This was painful enough when I went through without the damn masks. I dont wanna think about going through again dealing with masks too.

This doesn’t look like Marine boot camp. What is going on here?

This reminds me of the fairly "harsh" summer adventure camp I went to as a young 13-year-old boy...but it sure as hell doesn't remind me of the Marine boot I experienced in '74...WTF have they done to my Corps?

Eh I went through about a year before these guys, we got folding chairs but we were never allowed to use them, it was just one more thing to carry everywhere and to try and stuff in your footlocker.

Its a mix of them. If Im not wrong that was my company on video, so yeah, various phases. A good way to tell is by the boot blousings, bloused boots mean they are past like week 2 or 4, nametapes usually means they are about week 8 or 9, etc

I was Fox Company 2079, 1981. Was considerably different than this! Screaming's been replaced with the soft touch. Guess this is what woke gets you. Makes me think this isn't boot camp, but poolees playing Marine for a couple weeks in the summer. ... 32 minutes in, this is depressing. No one screams. DIs are almost non-existant. Recruits don't sound off, they basically talk in a normal tone. Sad.

I just graduated from fox company a few weeks ago. I promise you they toned it down infront of the cameras for some reason in this video.
