I think they have to be, just based on resume. Ohio State may end up being better at the end of the year, who knows, but right now you have to give #1 to LSU based on all their quality wins.

Clydes run on first down to seal the win was amazing. He took half of the Bama defense with him. He played with the heart of a warrior in this game. Burrow also should’ve wrapped up the Heisman last night. The way he took the field on those last two scoring drives so calmly and answered the call when his team needed him was awesome. He has had clutch drive after clutch drive this year.

Really proud of Tua. He wasn’t healthy all the way and still hung in there and threw for over 400 yards. That takes grit and toughness.

As an OSU fan, I'd have no problem with LSU being number 1. They beat a great team today. It'll all work itself out in the end anyway.

@@geauxtigers2911 Chase Young was held out of the game and might miss a couple and he is the only player who might be suspended.. No problems in Buckeye Nation. Chase is a dominant force on the field but as usual it's next man up until he returns and OSU is loaded with 4 & 5 star talent.

LSU will play Ohio State for the National Championship after Joe Burrow picks up his Heisman Trophy. Then he will give the Ohio State team the beating they deserve for benching him after he broke a bone in his hand. I struggle to understand why there is a question about who is #1. Who has Ohio State played? I get the rest of the country is tired of the SEC, but that should not change reality. LSU has four wins against top ten teams. Two of these wins were in the road. No other team comes close to what LSU has accomplished on the field. Forget regional bias, LSU is #1.

LSU will be number 1 this weak, but don’t get it twist. Put name aside, OSU demoralized everyone they played including the committees #13 and #20. The reason why OSU initially got put up at 1 was because their opponent win percentage was highest in the nation, even though LSU had beaten 3 higher ranked opponents, the rest of the schedule was held by teams with .500 or less records. Most of OSUs teams have winning records. However, this win will put LSU at 1. OSU still has 3 solid ranked games coming up tough, where as LSU has 2 I believe, so we will see. I personally hope they both get to the championship. LSU and OSU are by far the best teams this year when you look at all the data, and not unscientific bias.

@@terrellgaither8699 You're only referencing 2018. I'm thinking of the whole career. He was 2nd in 2016 and second/third in 2017. At some point, by virtue of injury (he broke his wrist at some point)/talent/experience, he was effectively a third string QB.

According to saban he was 100% he was cleared by medical and he said he was ready so they can't blame the loss on that bullshit

I don't see how and where Dwayne Haskins beat out Joe Barrow while at Ohio State. Maybe two years ago Joe wasn't where he is today. He's a complete QB. No hype like 90% of these 6-4 230lbs QB that Todd Mc Donalds or McShay claims is a 1st rounder. Matt Linert Sam Darnold Brady Quinn the list are long of clipboard carriers who McShay knew couldn't play at the next level but for some cash reason broadcast that these 6-3 230 QB were 1st round talent. They lasted long enough to receive a pension. And these soothsayers are still broadcasting.

Won’t be nick again you can believe that , will lock up the 4 seed for sure.. that was the worst ala defense I seen in all of 8 years and not just this game bama defense has been terrible all year cover guys are ass and they can’t tackle worth a damn but as great as tua played with injury he definitely cost us the game with the fumble out of thin air on the first drive and then late in a sec when he had the defense part like the Red Sea and opted not to run in for the score being 10 yards away like we are so custom to seeing but just threw the ball at the feet of jeudy, with a healthy tua bama wins this game wit the lack of defense they played you can definitely count on that.. which is why they won’t win again. Hats off to LSU they took advantage of Bamas mistakes and made them pay 💰 like bama been doing to teams over the last decade.

Tua threw for over 400 yards ...it was a tale of 2 halfs...the game ended close because in the end IT WAS close. Tua was injured and couldn't practice and prepare for over 2 weeks. The offense was off in the beginning. I hope Bama gets a chance in the playoffs as a healthy prepared team.

Kevin Lee The game was close in the end because Bama came back in the 2nd half. If Bama didn’t have those 2 crazy give me touch downs off turnovers when a ghost stripped the ball from Tua and a ghost made the punter miss a perfectly hiked ball then Bama wins. The what if goes both ways. The 2 teams were evenly matched. The difference was that Bamas offense was off due to 21 days where Tua was basically sidelined due to injury.

all right, i,m tired of listening to all of this lsu defense sucks bull. the only reason bama was able to come back is because lsu's defense was playing with house money. it's a gamble but other than the quick bomb, bama was playing lsu and the clock. same defensive strategy all coordinators employ. the game wasn't as close as the score.

You don't understand LSU. Coach O is the CEO man; he's the guy leading everyone. Coach O probably shouldn't know how to run an offense considering he played Dline and has coached Dline/ defense his entire life. Don't speak on what you don't know.

Great game by both teams. Both teams are ridiculously good. The fact that LSU came to Alabama's own stadium and almost scored 50 points is a bit mindboggling. But the two big Alabama mistakes in the 1st half were huge (Tua's fumble in the redzone and the Alabama punter muffing the long snap). Take away those two mistakes and Alabama wins imo.

Please stop, based on what? These are by far the best two teams in the country. Don’t spit a statement without something to back it up, and by the way I believe LSU deserves to be number 1 now. The games still have to be played. The year OSU got drummed by Clemson in the CFP, they had won 4 top 10 games. Admittedly they were a bunch of overachieving freshman, but that’s not my point. Still plenty of football left.

I still believe Alabama should get in the playoffs. Their loss against LSU is better than Georgia’s loss against South Carolina and it’s better than Oklahoma or Oregon’s losses. They should still be top 4.

Yeah but UGA's path to the playoff is quality wins over Florida, Auburn, and most probably LSU in the SEC championship. Alabama wouldn't be able to match that even with a better loss.

Tua is not a winner.. he can’t grind out those really hard wins.. he gave LSU the ball twice and there was no jalen hurts to bail him out

And that the dude was playing on one leg. The dude was 70%, playing on one leg and still threw for 418 yds and 4 TDs even though he threw a INT and the fumble the ball. Now think about it, what if he was 100%? The game would been a different story. I just hate that he got injured.

Don’t get why y’all say Bama owned them. The game was close in the 2nd half it’s crazy how a team who self destruct due to turnover and penalties and terrible defense still almost won this game. LSU played great Bama played terrible and still almost won. Imagine if Bama would’ve played well

Guess I missed Joey's interception. Oh wait the stat guy missed it too. Maybe you should call them and have it added to his stats. Of course you probably didn't notice that the Heisman worthy QB from LSU saw 12 Alabama players on the field and quick snapped the ball. Knowing he had a free play he tried to force a pass in that if it got picked off it wouldn't count. A pass he wouldn't have thrown with only 11 defensive players on the field. And yes he is that smart and does pay that much attention.

If Tua was healthy they would have beat LSU for sure!!!

Tua was phenomenal. He threw for over 400 yards and 4 tds to 1 int. Those number would have decimated any other team, LSU was just better!

Al played who this year? Clemson would run thru garbage Al( played nobody), LSU(barely beat TX), Fl (who barely beat Miami), GA (lost to S Carolina), etc..... Clemson is winning the Championship... 😂

All these SEC teams are overrated and given great rankings for TV. CBS and ESPN has invested a lot into the SEC. 😂 SEC is weak App St beat S. Carolina 🤷‍♂️ GA struggled with ND but UM blew them out...lol all this they fit the 👁 test but 8-0 Baylor & Minnesota are not even top 10 🤔 people are so stooopid lol 😂

Agreed. If that game goes another quarter Bama probably wins. They outscored LSU 28-13 in the 2nd half, their issue was they made extremely amateur mistakes throughout the first half and were down 20. That's the game and you have to tip your hat to LSU's great performance. I think it's crazy that these guys talking here are acting like LSU is so much better and that they blew Bama out, though. Bama played a so-so game overall for them (bad first half but good second half), LSU played the best game they could possibly play, and LSU still barely won.
