SUGGESTION! Garlic, ginger pucks alternative!! Put garlic/ ginger, etc, in a gallon Ziploc bag, flatten it out, then take a chopstick or skewer and press it down onto the bag in a cross hatch pattern and freeze it. When frozen, bend the bag at the "perforations," and you have little flat squares already in a Ziploc baggie. It skips the portioning out, freezing, then bagging steps. It thaws much quicker also. 😊

My husband is Hawaiian. We have rice every meal. Absolutely yes , rinse. Also Becky… I wanted to tell you that I recently saw a photo of bees from hives and there were many large watermelons cut in half on the ground by the hives. I learned by a greek old lady in Rhodos, she grated the cucumber and put it in luke warm water and then added salt so the water tasted like the mediterranean Sea(really salty) Then she made the rest of the tzatziki, the greek yoghurt, the garlic(lots of it!) and then she put all the cucumber in a cloth and put a heavy bowl on top to get all the water out. The absolut best tzatziki I ever tasted, and I still do it the same way at home

When I need to caramelize ground beef, I press all of it into a gigantic thin "hamburger patty" .....basically to cover the bottom of the pan.... then when it's caramelized I flip the whole thing over and do it again ....that way I get a good sear on both sides ... then I use my little chopper thing and crumble it and season it..

I (54) have been vegan for 10 years and love that your mentions lately is inclusive without any sarcasm. I am not the only vegan here - you do have quite a following of vegans 😉 I have been subscribed since the beginning and I love your energy. Everything you cook can be veganised - without any effort (especially for longtime vegans). I think the one thing most people do not realise is that vegans do not hate the taste of meat and that we have eaten meat, eggs, dairy and honey for the most part of our lives - so we know exactly what's on the "other side" 😊 Vegan mayonnaise are so easy to make with aquafaba (same level of prep as the egg-mayo you've just made - even less prep I suppose - but the method is 💯 % the same). V-parmesan takes 2min to make etc. etc. That besides: thank you for always showing up - you are the one youtuber no one needs to 'guess' if there will be footage or not. I love the consistency. Also: your taking on sponsors is great - it shows that you are serious about growing your business. Whoever has a problem with that need to step in any business owner's shoes for a day. I am in Cape Town, South Africa and although our climates etc. differ immensely, your garden videos has come in handy more than once over the years. You are truly an inspiration. Oh my, this is getting to be an essay 😅 Another thing: I 👀 someone complain about the fact that no kiddies toys are laying around: well, good on you if that's the way you want to run your channel - not one person will be happy to be surrounded by their children's toys if at the office - your kitchen and other parts of your home you care to show is your office, so good for you! Again, thank you for always showing up.

QUESTION: When tomato and cucumber season arrive, will you do up a gazpacho recipie? Gazpacho is a ltille like beef soup or stew with a zillion recipie variations and plenty of possible adaptations from there. Health wise it can be a Martha Steward goid thing in the heat, eat a healthy serving to fill up when eating a lot doesnt feel good due to the heat, or simply make it as a different/ additional dish when the harvest is overwhelmingly bountiful. (Left over gazpacho can be used to make savory muffins in the vein of zuchini in sweet muffins too.)

A heads up to those who regularly cook with Quinoa. The price is going to double next month due to several reasons and is expected to stay high until the supply chain can return to normal and next years plants can be harvested. Just as Maple Syrup is going up due to Canada not having the correct weather to produce the Syrup and Olive oil from Europe, the weather along with Civil unrest in other countries is producing a lack of products to import. They can't sell what they don't have.

Hi Becky! First I'd like to say how much I love your videos and check every day for a new one. That being said I learned this from watching chef Jet Tila about never serving your chopsticks standing up in a bowl. At Japanese funerals, a bowl of rice is left with two chopsticks standing vertically in the center. When you place chopsticks straight upright in a bowl, it's said to bring bad luck. You should serve them either laying down beside your serving dish or laying across the bowl. Also, your knives are always super sharp, how do you sharpen them? Looking forward to your next video!

I’m going to order the Korean red pepper flakes now. Thanks for your great videos! You are very good at explaining why you do things a particular way, in a very professional yet friendly manner. That’s a difficult balance to achieve-teaching without preaching and you do an amazing job. Love your videos. Your number one in my book! ❤❤❤

Next time you make egg roll in a bowl, instead of using coleslaw mix try using Taylor Farms Asian chopped salad mix. It has carrots, savoy and green cabbage, celery, carrots, cilantro and green onions and you can use the little bags of wonton strips and sliced almonds to garnish your bowl- so good!

Hi Becky! I have a video idea for you, if you're interested :) I thought it'd be very interesting to see you do a garlic focused recipe video when it's time for you to harvest your garlic. For example making garlic oil, garlic butter, maybe some sort of garlic soup or sandwich spread and even black garlic (even though that's quite the project so I understand if you don't do black garlic haha). Just an idea because I think you always make really nice and well researched content and I'd love to see your take on it! :) I've been watching you for a while now and I love all your videos! :)

I love dinner in a bowl, I usually end up mixing everything together anyways, when we have eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy I tear up my biscuits and mix everything together, lol, but one thing I want to say is I notice there are some complainers in the comments not many but enough to notice, and Becky is so kind and tries to please everyone and I think its the people complaining that need to change their ways not becky, not all people do things the same way and that's the beauty of the world, the internet can be a hateful place and I would just encourage kindness and compassion in the comments, but overall the comment section on Becky's channel are helpful and so sweet but I've just noticed a few not so nice ones, sorry for the rant but nobody is going to push around Becky on my watch!!!!!

Made the first recipe about an hour ago cause didn't have any dinner inspiration till seeing this, and b/c I always have Asian sauces/condiments/spices at home - that first bowl was SOOOOOO GOOD. I added a jammy egg and that was the cherry on top. Have made a lot of your recipes Becky, and this is one my top 3 favorite KZread channels.

I also was trying to find your Cole slaw recipe but it's not on your scratch pantry recipes. I would love to make it also for the 4th. Cole slaw is one of my husband and kids favorites. Can you please tell me how you make the dressing for the Cole slaw. Love watching your videos.

Always always wash your rice. There are several reasons. Traditionally rice is left overnight in cold water. This to neutralize fytonutrients and make nutrients more available. Same actually goes for grains and legumes. If you forgot to leave your rice overnight. Wash it until is becomes clear. So your rice is a. Washed. B. It wont stick and makes your rice fluffier and not puddinglike.

If you dont wash your rice. It will stick immediatley while cooking and becomes soggy. If you want sticky rice you cook it just a bit longer in order for it to release the sticky carbs.

a vegan option for the chipotle sauce I would say is a cashew based or nut based chipotle sauce. Nut based, especially cashew make really creamy sauces, and super tasty.

Not only do I wash my rice, I soak overnight and for the next 2-3 sprout it by rinsing 2-3 times/day. Then I either use it or dehydrate it and get a nice big jar made up over time which I pull from. Same with beans and nuts. I use ACV during the soaking. Salt for nuts. It’s worth the effort. Sprouting increases nutrition and soaking cleans mold off nuts. I always have jars going. It’s a routine with the rinsing. Love when little tails appear…then it’s time to dehydrate or use.

Hi Becky. Love those ideas. Quick comment: I have learned to make couscous another way. You can toast it as you did but then you put it in your serving dish. You boil your liquid and you pour it on top, just half of it and cover. Couscous gets cooked with that method and you're sure to not overcook it You can add more liquid as needed. My dad would also put raisins in the couscous before adding the liquid. So yum!
