Four Cops Killed In North Carolina - A Different Take On Serving A Warrant

Ойын-сауық

Larry Lawton discusses the heartbreaking event in Charlotte, North Carolina, where four brave police officers were tragically killed and four others wounded while executing a warrant. The standoff, which lasted three intense hours, ended with at least one suspect dead. This incident marks one of the deadliest assaults on US law enforcement in recent history.
Join Larry as he breaks down the details of the confrontation, explores the broader implications on police safety, and discusses the complexities of serving high-risk warrants. With his unique perspective as a former convict turned law enforcement supporter, Larry offers insights into the risks faced by officers and the systemic issues that contribute to such tragic outcomes.
Through this video, Larry aims to foster a deeper understanding among his audience about the challenges in policing, the importance of safety measures, and the need for systemic reforms to protect those who serve our communities. Engage in the conversation, share your thoughts, and help spread awareness about the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers every day.

I dont understand why they do these raids. They lose all Tactical advantages by raiding the wanted person in a house. That should be avoided by all means necessary. Wait for an opportunity to take him in by surprise and lessen their advantages of being in their home.

Agree 100% One instance after another of these things going wrong. Remembering the ATF Waco raid on Koresh. They could have nabbed him on whatever charge they had against him outside of his compound, but they chose to do a high publicity raid with agents killed and eventually many innocents killed after the long ridiculous stand off.

Yeah, I am a private investigator and I used to be a cop and I think it’s really stupid. If I was doing these tactical situations I would just set up surveillance outside of the residence and have multiple eyes on the person so the second they leave their house or return to the residence you’re ready to arrest him at that point going into a house unless you’re chasing them in other words like they committed a homicide in your in pursuit there’s no tactical benefit to doing it.

I live in the state. We've had some issues with finding the proportional response to the application of law enforcement. We do not need to make our peace officiers executioners with their training and support when they are doing something that stinks badly. We do not need a PR team for a police force that gets "ahead" of something to paint it's citizens as "demons". A small side note on the second ammendment. If you have to announce that you have a firearm on you and have it taken off of your possesion for another's safety in public and if you don't you may be shot, how free are we? Great response Larry, Big fan. Inspiring us to do better than yesterday.

As a Police Officer I usually don't waste my time on a small or personal use amout of marijuana. They get charged with it when there's other circumstances tied in. Were they doing it with kids present, other drug paraphernalia (scales, baggies, large amount of cash etc.), did they lie or be a jerk toward me, is there a firearm, did they try to evade? There's more to the story. Charging someone for a small amount is a waste of time, but it also depends on the totality of the circumstances.

Agree with your comments about changes needed in law enforcement. So many officers have an "us against them" mentality toward civilians. The write tickets for the most petty violations. Some are sociopath bullies who look for opportunities to beat the crap out of someone for "resisting". Others are looking for promotions, so they write tickets and make questionable arrests at every opportunity. One of the best things to come along to stop this kind of over policing is the use of video to make these practices public for all to see. Police violators are sometimes fired (not always), their employers are sued, and unfortunately the taxpayers are the ones who have to pay the bill for lawsuit settlements. Policing is a difficult job, but it seems like many are trained to act like they're an army occupying enemy territory...that has to change for a more commonsense humanistic approach.

@@jefferyepstein9210 That is because America does not regulate guns enough. It should not be easier to obtain a legal gun than a drivers license. If I have to prove I am a safe driver before I can get a license from my state, you should have to prove you can safely handle a firearm and are not a danger to your community.

If it was a non-violent crime/s & you did ur time & you been working & law abiding for 2-3-5yrs you should be able to legally own a firearm. & other ex-felons who have served their time (as long he didn’t shoot at anyone or sick sex crimes) They should be able to legally own a handgun & keep in their house for protection. & eventually be allowed to take it outside. But a blanket ban & mandatory prison is Lunacy.

I dare to disagree with your view that marijuana is not a serious enough offence- it is a drug, a drug I dont want my kids to do just because everyone else does it, just like I dont want my kids to do other drugs or alcohol. Also, I sympathize his family, but its too close to call, in my personal opinion, given how many encounters he had with the police- he didnt show good judgement considering our society norms and laws that everyone has to obey, and made his choice to do damage and be a menace to others when breaking in, endangered people while fleeing the police etc. Getting killed is no good, but he killed 4 officers, endangered many other innocent people who lived close to get hit by stray bullets- I cant sympathize too much with him. If he had an issue with the laws of this land- should've went to Tahiti or other places where things are more "loose" or fitting to his style.

Love your videos Larry but you’re off on this one. Guy murdered four cops. No justification. Also, driving while high should be treated the same as driving drunk. Intoxication is intoxication. And since you bring up Christianity, the Bible condemns murder and declares it a capital offense.

Don't get bent out of shape? I won't, but I have to say this is a pretty insensitive video. My father quit the Detroit Police Department back in the 70s after his friend and fellow officer Robert John Hogue was killed. Shot in the back of the head. Hogue was serving a warrant. Was he not a hero? He had a six month old son. This is a true story look it up if you don't believe me.

@@MrMilla22 You don't know that I never liked this guy. I did at the beginning. Then as I followed his videos over the years, I saw more Michael Franzese and Jordan Belfort. Profiting from their crimes. As for this being a lifeline to put food on the table. Plausible, but he did mention at least a few times that he sued the prison system. Maybe he also got a settlement. He is not the only blogger I have been critical of. Aforementioned men above plus others that are former criminals that stroke their egos and flag their own agenda. Also, a lot of what he says is exaggerated. Especially SOs. I know several COs. SOs rarely get beat up in prison. (Bring on the haters. I don't care)

And he may or may not settle im not sure if he said he was going to settle, he seems the type to keep the fight going if it’s going somewhere. Never once glorified doing crimes or being in prison either. Larry I hear ya, change is needed - hire above 25, may not be enough people to fill the jobs, they are struggling to find employees in all jobs, a lot of folks dont want to work - training, democrats are defunding police - there is no money available because we send it all to Ukraine and our politicians are stealing it from us - higher pay, from where? our current leaders only care about climate change and small marginalized groups - change is needed, no more career politicians is a good start, business people with good morals for 2-4 years only is my bet - but after all of that, this guy was most likely not raised by loving good hard working people and we need to raise our kids better, all of them, to have a chance at fixing all of this - teach our kids to work hard every day so that you can have something worth living for, life is not a big party and we are not all gonna be rich financially, but we can be rich with family
