I love your videos because I can hear and see the rhythm. Some teachers explain using mathematics but for me that's hard because when the teacher speaks math, I can't hear it. But when you perform the rhythm and I can see how it is written that makes understanding the rhythmic pattern easier to grasp.

For years I struggle and struggle in practicing polyrhythm(s) and give up hope, while I thought for it's an impossible task. As a drummer for more then 40 years my taught was, it's burned in my brain to play equal and dividable rhythms. This is your second video I watch, and I learned to play 2 polyrhythms in 10 minutes. THIS IS AMAZING..REALLY!! Thank you mate! 💯😃😃😃

Thanks Jerry for I've been trying to explain what you so eloquently stated. For me as a composer/arranger I hear everything the note and the rhythm. But for me to explain what I am composing and hearing in my mind through SUBDIVIDING it just does not work for me. Cause an Artist may be well versed in SUBDIVIDING but can't hear the rhythmic pattern.

Excellent very clear demonstration and method. What's fascinating to me is that once you chart it out and play it using this method of analysis, it suddenly becomes effortless - the brain just assimilates the overall pattern and you don't need to think about the underlying mathematics at all.

it’s weird, for me my brain never thinks of playing two separate rhythms, but rather when to play. idk maybe i’m thinking about poly rhythms completely wrong but knowing when to play the next beat seems to come easier then playing sixteenths with one hand and triplets with the other or telling my brain to do that.
