    Absolutely no fear of humans. Smelled and checked you out. You weren't food or a source or it. So he trundled off. @@maikmenschner He could easily be food for a badger or bird. Or perhaps a kill for a cat. I've seen that kind of confidence is skunks - for good reason. Do hedgies have some similar deterrent?

    @alexthon9574 pet hedgehogs are generally human bred hybrids. As such they wouldn't exist except for being kept as pets. Would you turn loose pet rats or Guinea pigs to free them from the tyranny of the bars? You would not. In almost every case, a pet animal will have a far better life captive than wild. Juvenile fantasies about freedom notwithstanding.

    After careful consideration, I've decided to step back from sharing videos on this platform. Unfortunately, the negative comments from a vocal minority have become overwhelming, and it's disheartening to engage with a community that, for the most part, lacks constructive and thoughtful dialogue. As a result, I'm leaning towards making my existing videos private and reevaluating whether I want to continue uploading content. This decision is part of a broader shift away from 'social' platforms that do not foster positive interactions. Thank you to those who have been supportive, and I appreciate the understanding of those who have genuinely engaged with my content. Wishing you all the best on your own journeys.

It's important to prioritize my own well-being and focus on the positive aspects of my life. Hedgehogs are primarily insectivores, meaning their diet consists mainly of insects. While they do eat a variety of invertebrates, including beetles, worms, and caterpillars, there isn't a significant amount of evidence suggesting that hedgehogs commonly consume ants as a staple part of their diet.

    Thank you. Indeed, males are generally smaller than females. Were the houses constructed using red brick? Red brick possesses excellent insulation properties, and it could be beneficial to structure it somewhat like a snail's shell, preferably ascending inwards as it goes deeper.

    African Pygmy Hedgehog (Four-Toed Hedgehog / Atelerix albiventris) are found in Africa, where winters are absent. However, they have the ability to hibernate (and even risk mortality) if exposed to excessively cold temperatures.

    The best food to feed them, are raw eggs.

  • @maikmenschner

    @maikmenschner

    3 ай бұрын

    Feeding raw eggs to a hedgehog is not recommended. While eggs can be a part of a hedgehog's diet, they should be cooked to reduce the risk of salmonella contamination. Raw eggs can also be a choking hazard and may not provide the same nutritional benefits as cooked eggs. It's best to offer your hedgehog (I guess you have none), cooked eggs in moderation as part of a balanced diet that includes a variety of foods suitable for hedgehogs.
