those Hueys aren't Vietnam Hueys... those are Venoms which were made many years later. Hueys in the 60s were two bladed both up top and the tail rotor and it had only one exhaust not two... it was the two bladed rotors that gave the Huey it's iconic thump sound as it flew. the quad rotor made it not as noisy

Everything is wrong. Wrong Huey, wrong type(gunships didn't carry troops and they mounted M60s on the sides, not Miniguns. There were some late war hueys carrying miniguns on the sides, but not in 1968. If Bell is MACV-SOG as in the first black ops he wouldn't be using an M16a1 but an XM-177e1, the famous CAR-15. Also, SOG troops didn't wear helmets, they left the wire completely sterile. But we're talking about COD, which means they put holographic sights on a KAR98.

The 7.62mm Minigun was a rare sight in Vietnam. The problem was that they tried to scale down a full sized M61 20mm and ran into a lot of issues on the helicopter mounted version. The gun has reliability issues if it couldn't get the power it needed at the amps needed which wasn't a problem for large aircraft. That and the cost are why the vast majority of helicopters used the M60 as a door gun and the duel mounted, pilot controlled version on the gunships. A thin skinned Huey with underslung, gimbled miniguns is a hell of a pipe dream and something you would NEVER see. On a side pod in a fixed mount? Sure. Huey's were VERY vulnerable to ground fire. An AK47 would have no problem punching through the windows, floor, or sides with ease. The pilots all wore heavy early ceramic rifle proof plates on their front and back. Often they mounted them under the seat too. A Hind? A fucking HIND?! 7.62mm would bounce off of that thing like it was nothing. The Vietnamese didn't have any of those. That would show direct Soviet involvement. If they did have any those thing would have torn our troop apart. They would have made easy prey of ANY Huey out there including the gunships. Only the Cobra had a chance and that's only if it has the wing mounted 20mm or (at the time) experimental nose mounted 3 barrel 20mm kit. Even .50 BMG AP rounds have a hard time bringing a Hind down.

@@Planeman777 12.7mm is a .50cal BMG. Now granted, the Cobra did run that but not until 1985 as the GAU-19 for a short period. However, they went back to the 20mm version despite the extra weight & less ammo. The 105mm rockets are the older Zuni rockets. Which are still used on fixed wing jets but no longer on helicopters. Why carry 4 in a pod when you can carry 19 70mm rockets instead?

@@mell6906 First deployment of the helicopter wasn't until 1977 in Somalia. It didn't even finish it's trials until 1972. You might be thinking of the Mi-8 transport helicopter which they did have near the end of the war.

One thing I hate about COD games now is how quite and dull everything is... incoming fire just sounds dead and flat as if they've purposefully made them sound shit, in post editing walking around the FOB sounded lifeless, there's Cobras flying overhead, logi trucks whipping about, Huey's taking off and grunts all around shooting the shit, but all you hear is nothingness, absolutely kills the game immersion in my opinion.

@@DelcoAirsoft Yup, music is probably copyrighted and channel didn't want to get flagged. That's why they only left a few flat sounds. Modern Warfare had a lot of great moments when it came to ambient sounds.

hmm that is true actually

the choppers have 4 blades on the main vertical lift rotors, but the hueys had on 2 during the Vietnam war. With that said, the Bell 412EP helicopters where the first to have 4 main rotor blades which came in production in 1981, so their about 12-14 years ahead of schedule.

Legend has it if you turn the graphics high enough the war crimes become real.

That moment you get off the helicopter and your controller goes dead with no hope of reconnecting unless you hard reset the system.

Imagine if call of duty invested in making vr versions it would be absolutely incredible

The thing about battlefield 1 is that there is too many semi and full autos so it feels like a ww2 instead. Id say hell let loose or rising storm captures them better

Listen, I know CoD has been a dumpster fire ever since BO4 came out, even though I really enjoyed BO4. But still, when it comes to gameplay, gun feel and gun play, animations and overall audio and environment, you just really can't beat it. I mean the fast paced guns blazing blood splattering gameplay is just so fucking good. I love CoD campaigns. And I really love the way guns feel in CoD games. I will always be a fan because of some core mechanics. Just wished they released full games, and wished they took their time. I hate Activision.

I love how I'm not the only one that hates this game for the historical problems like those helicopters aren't from that time, they never had mini guns they only used m60's back then and so many other things like outfits not being accurate so on

There are so many inaccuracies in this mission I can't even begin to count them all. Did they just not care?

Players really need to do a side by side with an action film. Computer / console graphics do not look real. They look like computer/console graphics. Are they detailed? Yes. Do they look real? no.

Vietnam hueys had 2 blades on the main and tail rotor, not 4 and the m16s had 20 round mags not 30, like so many other people are pointing out

Yes they do I wasn’t sure if I was the only one who noticed it or not, but they only had two rotor blades on the main rotor and tail rotor as well as one engine not two but I guess for the sake of the game they didn’t completely ruin it

Immersion is broken within the first 3 seconds if you know anything about what you're looking at

The 20 round magazines seem to hold 30 rounds for some reason. Also, why isn't there a selector switch on his M16A1 to use semi? Spraying bullets at those far targets is a silly waste of ammo.

@@maxdavis1483 Yea and I've been playing cod since 2005 and they are still trash at making games, correct me if I'm wrong but medal of honor was always the true history and best campaign to a war game, and the devs went on to make call of duty, Call of duty was always about the history not the multiplayer or trash modern stories, I mean infinity ward is the only company actually making good call of duties unlike treyarch and sledgehammer nowadays making pay to win and trash marketed multiplayer, also battlefield isn't doing so great either, so stop with the go play battlefield bs

Mw2019 is pretty close but I have to choose this campaign as the better one because of the setting and characters. I just find current day pretty boring as we’ve had a modern setting in a million shooters for like 10 years

everyone is talking about the inaccuracies of the weapons/vehicles in the game but honestly I believe they' re put there intentionally. As we later find out Bell (our main character) had all of these "memories" planted in him. He never experienced the vietnam war so the innaccruate choppers and certain weaponry dont seem to raise suspicion that he's been brainwashed. He doesn't question anything within the time period because the whole point was that these memories needed to be PRESENT not accurate. As the player WE are supposed to question why certain things seem off because as mentioned we later find out Bell had been implanted with these memories that never happened. It's a nice way of hinting to the player that something is off and perhaps we aren' t who we claim we are and neither are our "allies".

I still don’t know the song that played during this mission but I can say for a FACT it was not fortunate son, I don’t remember fortunate son having a rock organ at the beginning

The only thing I object here is the Huey. An anachronistic Huey that looks like a UH-1Y Venom in the Vietnam War. I can understand it being used in the 1980s because its real life comparison the Bell 412 which is a 4-bladed Huey entered service in 1981 and the events of Cold War takes place in 1982. So it makes sense. The Vietnam part, not really. But who would care anyways, I'm just pedantic like James May.

Call of Duty really needs to make a great Vietnam game, they have the money and the resources to do so to make a game with a solid and lengthy campaign as well as a great multi-player mode but unfortunately they won't because we keep buying the shit they put out now so they'll never change if they don't feel it in their pockets
