I will have to retake the testing of the compressor because the video quality was unusable. I dont want to just publish anything I want it to at least look halfway decent. So I have lost a lot of time and will still spend more time to redo it. Thanks for watching and I will be back to more videos soon.

If you lived close to me I have 3 25 gallon belt driven speed aire compressors I'm not using anymore, they were close to 1k each a couple years ago, I have never been a fan of oil less compressors it'll be interesting to see how well it does for you, I'm spoiled at home with my 2 stage 80 gallon, and a extra 60 gallon reserve, moisture is always a huge issue with the oil less definitely make sure to drain it all the time.

This is exactly what I have been needing to finally make the decision to give to my man hopefully for Christmas. This presentation says everything. Thanks !

That warranty won’t change the FACT that they cannot supply the parts to repair it for three MONTHS.

Good point, simple logic but a good point. Oh that is the higher pressure means more air in the tank over-all. Good video.

Your thinking is correct. The air is regulated at a steady psi. The higher the tank pressure, the longer between compressor start ups.

The benifit of a bigger tank is yes more room for air presure, but even better; the engine doesn't have to work as hard to pump the air into the tank resulting in a higher SCFM if you adjust your motor properly.

Video still came out good. HF just re released the Yukon 46 inch box. I bought one years ago and love it. Seems like it was only on the shelf for a short timeand was under priced on the first release. Would love to see that on the next review. Love your channel. Keep it up.

This part of the video taped fine but i guess me moving the camera got gunk on the lens and a lot of the footage is extremely bad. I can salvage a little more but will have to redo most of it. I need to invest in an external monitor recorder because I would save myself a lot of time in the long run.

I do really like that icon tool box.

What size are the couplers 1/4 or 3/8 inch?

I recently brought this compressor, two things that need to be addressed. The knob on the drain valve on the bottom of the compressor needs to be shorter so that it doesn't get scrapped or broken off when moving the compressor around. The other thing how would you be able to add a water separator or a pressure regulator to catch the water before it gets to the air tools? Your comment please or others what did you do to fix this potential problem. Love your video, GREAT WORK!

I’m just careful when moving it around. It does scrape when you bring it down one step. Attach a water catcher/filter to your hose and it won’t spray water. Also when you drain it, tip it forward so all the rust water drains out.

Lmao it is funny but low tires suck and to constantly have to add air in them sucks. Especially with the position of the drain valve low tires could cause you to snap it off.

True, but if you have pneumatic tires on a top heavy air compressor and then one of the tires goes flat, you end up with an air compressor falling over and that could be very dangerous.

What would you suggest for garage use? I work on my cars

After use where do you drain the air pressure from? Do I need to install a open and close valve? Or use the little relieve valve on the side(thought that was just for safety)

Drain valve is on the bottom of the tank towards the "front" or same side the gauges are facing. Almost every compressor has a drain valve located on the bottom so you can drain the condensation so your tank doesn't rust out.

How long is the power cord doesn't mention it on the site

Have you tried a spray gun on it. Interesting in seeing how much one could paint before volume gets to low

Why you buy a lvlp guns

With cordless tools being what they are there isn't much need (I don't feel) for 60 and 80 gallon stationary (oiled) air compressors for personal use in a garage or in aDIY setting... these 26, 27 and 30 gallons oiless mobile air compressors are more than enough for most people because we aren't running a butt load of tools with them these days.... I actually did go ahead and pull the trigger on the Kobalt "Quiet Tech" 26 gallon with 175 PSI capacity..... I ended up getting it for $280.. with Quick Connect brass fittings.... cold startable.... it's really nice.. love it...👈

Untrue with electric tools they are often too bulky to do auto wirk so you need air wrenches. Good electric tools are very expensive, constantly need batteries to be charged and batteries dont last either. Electric is a lose lose lose.

You gotta spend big bucks and have all kinds of chargers and batteries when you could just have 1 compressor and detachable air tools that last but arent crazy expensive. You dont understand efficiency

I have been wrenching for 30 plus years and have gone through many air compressors. If you want a real air compressor, you got to go with Saylor Beall. I have gone through IRs, Quincy's and many other brands. Saylor Beall and DeVilbiss are the best. Jenny or Emglo for mobile. Thats just my opinion :)

Most people who work on stuff at home are not going to buy a $1000-$1500 compressor. If you run a lot of tools and make a living wrenching, then yes, a $1000-$2500 compressor is a better choice. These inexpensive Fortress HF compressors are at a new level and are built better than most consumer grade compressors out now. The California Air, DeWalt, Kobalt and Husky brands are probably going to have to play catch up with the new HF Fortress compressors.

I like ferraris too , doesn't mean I can afford one. This video is for an affordable option for the avg. joe....You just sound like a DIK....For real. $ 5000.00 or a fortress for a few hundred....For the weekend warrior.

Do you really have to break the compressor in according to the owners manual?

My kobalt 26 gallon quiet tech is great also I got a oiled 20 gallon I got it for free it still works great

I would honestly just go pick up a AC plug in random orbital sander for like 30 bucks. Air DA sanders take a lot of air.. it'd do it but the compressor would probably run continuously and you may have to stop an let it build pressure.

An 80 gallon tank would work much better for an air orbital sander. They eat a lot of air. Even with a 60 gallon tank, you have to stop and let the air build back up just after running one for a couple minutes.

Your air pressure thinking is correct for a given line air pressure...

Leaks...leaks and more leaks...Fixed mine 4 times now for various leaks in fittings, some are repeats. The connections on the backside of the panel are too rigid not to vibrate loose and break the seal no matter what one uses (Teflon tape, pipe dope, whatever)...

Theyre all made in the same factory in China.

How about letting it run from the start then showing everything else. That way people that know what an air compressor is and owned several can see and hear normal operations before listening to everything else that they don't need to know! Especially if the video ends before the main thing that should be shown from the start.

Air hammers take a crap ton of air like orbital sanders

I really don't like that so many of these things are starting to have the "panel" type of control interface. Sure it looks nice but from what I've heard, you have to replace the ENTIRE assembly if the regulator goes bad. In my experience, regulators are usually the weakest link in most compressors and will need replacing, possibly multiple times in the unit's lifespan. I much prefer having generic plumbing. All lines, hoses and fittings should be visible, accessible and easily replaceable.

and they arent penalizing you cause them other guys. they just dont know you arent one them.

At only 35 dollars Harbor freight is still taking a loss when they try to resell it. My friend works for Harbor freight and customers who abuse the return policy is a big problem. I get not wanting to own a jackhammer or Cement mixer, or whatever, but what the hell- tool rental places exist for a reason. If you can't borrow from a friend what you need, Facebook market place has what you need, buy it use it clean it up after, and sell it fot what you paid for it. Boom!- free rental.

Why the fuck does anyone need to see it running? It's a damn air compressor, they all run about the same until you get into industrial screw driven compressors. You can get an idea how long it's going to run by reading the specs. And how long it runs for what? Your impact that he doesn't own? Also, you aren't going to be able to tell how loud something is in a video. Otherwise your eardrums would ring when you watched someone shoot a 50BMG or start bleeding when you watched a space shuttle launch. All the oiless compressors are quieter than a dual stage compressor which are quieter than a single stage compressor.

Great review? You covered everything except what we came to see. Hook that shit up to an impact wrench and get to work let's see if the thing can keep up or if you have to pause and wait for it to catch up.

Uhhh i think i did start it but let me ask you a question why would you want to watch a KZread video to hear a compressor run through your speakers? I think that would be a pretty goofy video myself. The video is about the build quality, parts, and function of the compressor. I did do a second video i believe splitting up the testing in which the second video was testing different air tools checking how long, and if, the compressor could handle the tools. I broke it in 2 parts because of length and the fact that some people dont want to see, or learn anything they just want to "hear the compressor run". So with that being said the video testing different tools is here kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6mCmLuxgNHfd9I.html It could be worse though and i could just be talking about and showing tools on a computer screen like some other KZread channels but i appreciate the feedback

Fortress are nice but pricey.

scfm is more important than psi. average person dont need more than 125psi. joe smith here has an 80 gallon 3 stage compressor on 220v set at 175psi. you put 200 psi through some air tools and might overspeed them or mess them up. keep out flow regulator set at 125psi unless you need to go higher for something. and after 7 years my air filters were still clean. put new ones on and new oil in compressor anyways.

Joe Smith Most of these compressors have the full psi stored in the tank but lower psi available to your tool.. For example, a 175psi unit will give you maximum 155 psi at the regulator

I want to see how loud it is compared to a pancake or small twin tank. I want to see how long it will supply a tool before starting. I wasted 20 minutes watching this

A lot of KZreadrs intentionally talk non-stop and say nothing as a way to fill up time. Longer videos equals more money. This video should be 5 minutes at the most. I call it diarrhea mouth. I just give them a thumbs down and move on.

15.3A draw is A Lot for a (portable) Compressor. That means you could be spending a lot of time resetting circuit breaker, unless your circuits are 20A. “More Runtime” is that a legit Spec that impresses people ? It’s just the chinese ‘throwing spaghetti at the wall’ to see what Americans will (buy). “Quieter” ... compared to what ....? I just chuckle at (stickers) like these. Are decibels measured at the STANDARD 3’ ? Some of these chinese compressors (promote) Low dB numbers .... but at 25’-35’ .... which is ABSURD ! ** NOTHING to do with Reviewer. For almost $500, I would expect A Lot more ....

10 minutes less talking would have been perfect

I dont think they'll ever go obsolete because there are things cordless tools cant do like put air in tires and more but you get the picture. But cordless tools definitely are the tools of the future.

I hate the fact that weather plays a huge role in the lifespan of battery’s. Living in Chicago it gets cold, I really don’t want to carry them from the house to the garage every single time I decide to work on something.
