Fort Lauderdale Beach to Boca Raton, Florida Dash Cam (via the A1A) 2.25.18

Dash cam vid of my trip from Fort Lauderdale Beach to Boca Raton via the A1A on 2.25.18, made with Street Guardian SG9663DC dual channel dash cam system.
This vid is different in several ways from my Fort Lauderdale to Palm Beach vid, but namely because there's no music overlay. It's "au natural." Since a portion of the vid travels through Fort Lauderdale Beach means you need to be able to hear all the people and partying going on.....because that's the point of Fort Lauderdale Beach. :D And if you're going to have natural sound for one part of the vid then the entire vid needs to be consistent.
The other difference is the route. In this vid I traveled down Las Olas Boulevard in the heart of Fort Lauderdale to the A1A, through Fort Lauderdale Beach, then headed north on the A1A all the way up to Boca Raton. And let me tell you................attempting to do this during the heart of "SEASON" on a warm, sunny weekend afternoon when thousands of other people are all on the same roads was no easy feat. The traffic situation was just straight up "HOLY SHIT." But that's what makes this video worth posting....................it's reality. And it gets particularly interesting once I hit Deerfield Beach at the 00:56:14 mark, where, as you'll see from the time stamps, it took me about 40 minutes...............to go one mile. And that was one reason I almost didn't post this vid. Too much "bogged down in traffic" moments. (including a drawbridge at Hillsboro Inlet, which is actually cool.) I edited out all the red lights, same as the previous vid, and any moments of being completely stopped, but still....it's a hell of a lot of bogged down moments. (you can even hear one lady losing her shit at 01:03:03 because the traffic jam had gone on so long. :D ) Though for any non-Floridians watching this it conveys the true reality of what it's like to try to get around in urban south Florida during Season on nice weekends. It's extremely aggravating and non-glamorous, that's all I can say.
Viewers will notice the light rattling noise that is present throughout much of the vid, and that was due to the the polarized lens on the dash cam being slightly loose and vibrating, due to being bumped by me the day before. So, my fault. Which is another reason I almost decided to scrap the entire vid and attempt to re-do it at a later date. But I can't even deal with the idea of trying to recreate this route again with all the traffic, giving up hours and hours of my weekend, and especially for a non-monetized channel. There's no point really. So I decided to go with this vid as is.

Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort - 1:07:30. The yellow building, which is right on the beach. When Tom's mom and one of his brothers visited us (and Florida for the first time ever) we booked them an oceanfront room here. We didn't tell them where they would be staying, kept it as a surprise as we drove from the airport. So it was fun to see the looks on their faces when they realized they would be staying here, versus some regular motel. Tom's brother had never even seen the ocean before, having been born and raised in Iowa. So when we were pulling up to park at the hotel at 11:30 p.m. and were telling them the situation he was like, "We're at the ocean?!?" since it was dark and you couldn't see. It was fun to experience him experiencing the ocean for the first time ever, especially when we all went snorkeling at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park the next day, ten miles offshore of Key Largo. ("Welcome to the ocean.....now get in!" :D ) Pic of our boat ride out to the reef from that day: www.flickr.com/photos/carissa... But the Wyndham Deerfield Resort was a really nice place, and they had a great time.

It depends on what route you take. If you take the 95 on the weekend, which is always when we've gone, and exit at Broward, as long as there are no accidents or situations slowing things down then it can be literally 10-12 minutes tops (which I've definitely experienced), since Boca is only 17 miles from Fort Lauderdale. If you take surface streets then who knows, it can be any amount of time depending on what route you take and where in Fort Lauderdale you're going. And during weekday commuter rush hour......yikes, can only imagine. Luckily I never take the 95 during weekday mornings, nor head down to Fort Lauderdale during that time. My vids took long surface street routes obviously in order to have more to view. (and it's not even counting the time it took to initially get down there on the 95, and get into starting position....)
