Also, keep in mind, Janus was the God with two faces. The pictures you posted in the video all show the two faces, and for Western mythology, he is often seen as the father of having good and evil inside you. You can think of Janus as the angel and devil sitting on either shoulder arguing of what choice to make. It's almost hinted at him knowing about the previous reality, and if he is aware of the previous timeline of the previous Either Story, Project Janus might very well be a way to combine the two realities again. And if he is indeed aware of both realities, then he would literally be Janus, and that would make him more dangerous then anything from the Either could ever be! Gonna be interesting to see where they take the story next.

@@TheGoldeneye9 Indeed! There is even a very very rare medical condition for cats called Janus cats where the cat literally has two faces and most often three eyes. Seems strange though, though more people knew about the fact that he has two faces, that he is not to be trusted, as just because you can see one face, doesn't mean you know what his true face actually is saying as they are literally opposite one another.

As another add on to your theory do you think it is possible that this Richtofen we see in the cutscene is just the Richtofen that died to make Eddie? To me that would make sense seeing as how aging and his environment would essentially corrupt him thus he would no longer be innocent Eddie but revert to an Evil Richtofen

Two theories, one the area shown is where the inversion rockets hit causing an outbreak zone that he will use to gain access to the dark aether, for either his own purposes or (this is a stretch) to free Samatha (he does say he wants to meet an old friend, could be referring to Sam). Theory two is that if this is the Mariana Trench, one thing we have been shown is that Apothicans Ancients dwell deep down below so possibly one has jump the gap using the inversion rockets and he wants to use/study it.

Yknow that could be true, everything did get banished to the Dark Aether and there’s a chance it could of pulled BOTD or even anotber familiar map into the middle of the pacific, I just guess we’ll have to keep waiting

The forsaken ending shocked me the most as if treyarch took a entire u-turn

Plot twist: the boy who died called Samuel was actually Samuel Richtofen, and Edward is not gonna stop until Project Janus brings back his son.

I love how Treiarc had planned on ending the Aether story and start a new story with Chaos but in the end scrapped the chaos storyline and just created a continuation of Aether in a sense

I mean there was probably something richtofen said to Eddie when he collected his soul and to Becareful when Samantha gets older and probably gave him a plan to remember as Eddie grew up

We also must remember that (even if they don’t write it this way they have before) it could be a hive mind system from previous iterations of Richthofen and he very may well remember things but won’t show it.

This vid had me jumping out of my chair, with richtofen child who might of died, blood of the dead references, and peck not even working with requiem, Peck might be going to that island for strike team, I hope we get a richtofen operator in Cold War or vanguard

Maybe the first map of the next canon game will be a prison map where the requiem is in jail and peck starts an outbreak leading to a new blood/mob of the dead map where we try to break out weaver and the other scientists

I noticed the Monty house in the snow globe on my second viewing and was shocked

Eddie being unveiled as the Director was very somewhat predictable. I think Eddie being the Forsaken himself would've been more mind blowing

Man I just really wished we had a face to face talk with Sam and Eddie! Oh well this is very interesting to say the least! I think I have finally figured out Eddie's personality and where he is coming from. From what I have gathered he is a member of a group that's probably going to be Kraft's Cult, which we are going to explore in Vanguard! He had a family, wife and son, named Samuel either after Stulinger or Samantha, and he lost them in a fire which Samantha and Weaver didn't prevent! With nothing to lose he has focused on this group and their twisted goals. It also explains why he got a kick out of torturing Samantha. However I feel that he still somewhat cares for her since she is the only one that he has left!So I am assuming that the next treyarch game will be about Eddie being split between the group that he is a member of and his friendship with Samantha. Don't tell me though that this was the end for Sam. I literally felt nothing when she 'sacrificed' herself. I said this before this game wasn't enough for something like that.

I like how the cube located in town square. Cube=square.

I am wondering what they have done with the forsaken in 5 years and I wonder if Sam remembers Eddie

This is the only Easter egg that actually gave me the chills. Hopefully new zombies maps are in Cold War and still free.

Also this means today if Rictoffen is alive in the 80s so are the other members of the old crew! When did said he’s going to see some old friends in ice land I think he’s referring to the team from Tag Der Toten could be Samuel and that team but also remember that Nikolai was recorded there as he gives directions so he and the crew must of been there! We are all headed for some cool stuff!

I loved the forsaken map I loved the wonder weapon but the Easter egg itself was a let down the boss fight was fun and the ending cutscene was amazing I’m glad I enjoyed the end of cw seeing as it lost me half way thru it makes me really remember and enjoy why I love zombies so much and I can’t wait to see what Eddie has in store

It's clear as day that the picture on the left on Richthofen's office desk is him in a pilot's jumpsuit posing in the cockpit of a jet (the open canopy as well as the red triangle are giveaways). My guess is it looks like a Corsair II.

It may connect broken arrow into this new timeline. Peck leading research and coming to a similar understanding that both Eddie and Maxis on the dark aethers limitations. If Eddie has any recollection of his past lives he would know about the cycle. Knowing exactly when the return they will return and what could be done to perpetuate the cycle allowing it to evolve. So much lore dump on this last map has me hyped for our story going forward. Vanguard will change how we view storytelling and COD 2023 will set the standard for how we experience.

We’ve been following these characters for a decade and it’s almost time to see them out. However our story is about to embark on a journey unseen in our time. Bus route B does exist and things are just getting started.

Maybe a bit of a stretch, but the spot on the map that Peck is pointing at could also be zetsubou? It kind of makes sense since Treyarch has been doing a lot of call back maps and reskins and if richtofen is still alive, perhaps takeo is too and he will be found soon.

And the old Richtofen isn't alive. That Richtofen we saw is Eddie. He walked with Sam in the Tag der Toten ending into thos universe. The others are dead unfortunately

Thats either where the team is being held or the crystals somehow opened up a portal for zombies to come through

this is definitely the map and cutscene they needed to get the ball rolling with this storyline. Super excited for what comes next.

I did this Easter egg after only playing the map 3 times. It’s really that easy all you have to worry about is that boss fight. I died at the boss fight because conveniently the wonder weapon runs out of ammo so fast.

When you use it as a melee weapon and you have melees at tier 5 it basically turns you immortal

All the Alcatraz references could be hinting at a prison break peck has planned for the strike team. In return they will help him retrieve something from the dark either

Richtofen looks like he's standing in a Jet's cockpit. It'd be awesome to see he remembered the Ather story from before. Sam may have forgotten due to the dark ether causing amnesia.

Hear me out. I think vanguard zombies will take place over a 30 or so year timespan and will have us saving richtofen's son, which would make vanguard technically a prequel sequel

Maybe Richtofen wants to bring back the original crew... Remember how the Apothicon was found at the bottom of the Pacific and it's blood obtained for the Agarthan device? Maybe Peck's looking for an Apothicon..

I knew that the director was richtofen as a possibility because is seemed like he was really close to her the whole time

I feel like Peck and Beck are the same person in different time periods

It is possible that the island pointed to could have ties to the same place where shi no numa or zetsubo no shima take place since it is very secluded

The fact that we have to wait 3 years to find out what will happen is really annoying. Also, by any chance this also kinda hints when is the next games takes place at least a bit? Assuming the that forsaken happened in 1985, them this is in 1990. So there's a good chance that the next zombies game is happening in 1990s.

i think the place he points is referencing where vanguard zombies is because he is most likely looking into what happened during vanguards events

I think that "plane" is one of those freezing chambers that they used to "store" people until they needed. And remember we still need to know how Samanther want to revenge her dead dad who was killed by the shadowman in the "orginal" circel. In BO 4 the crew broke the circel and send Samanther into a dimension that didn't had this circel. Mabye there that Samamanther want to build a way on how to get her revenge on the shadowman. (And why not use an powerful emotion unstable version of herself as an super weapon that get shome hyper training in the dark ather?)

in bo4 its established that the main characters of primis and ultimus have a share memeory (Ultimus nikolia quote about controlling gorod mech) so little eddy has the memory of both ultimus and primis richtofen memory.

Flashback to when the version of Richthofen who gave his life just to be betrayed said he was “the nicest one.” Makes me think something bad is coming.

If you listen closely right before we go into the 1st cutscene, you hear the revelations music and the shadow man escapes from the summoning key, so now maybe then the forsaken will escape

My theory is that project Jannas is Richtofen wife's name and that you are right that he wants to bring her and their son back, using the dark energy

The left photo on Richtofen's desk is a picture of him in what looks like a fighter jet

I think it's safe to assume that the boy named Samuel was richtofens child. Eddie at one point would have at least heard of stuhlinger (don't remember if they met) so maybe he named his child after him. Stuhlinger was the only one who could hear richtofen, anyway

It looks like peck is pointing towards the division 9 facility on zetsubou no Shima from bo3 or close to it

the ocean part reminds me of when they went to get the apothicon blood in the good storyline

I hope the OG Crew comes back even if it gets rid of the playable operators I would love to play as the crew again

I think the island at the end peck is pointing to is alcatraz or something similar because it's a alcatraz is a prison and maybe our characters are put there and also the blood of the dead music is playing.

Im not sure if someone has already theorized this but that Graffiti in the No one Escapes alive part of the Easter egg i believe is Samantha after an extended amount of time in the Dark Aether, It would explain why The forsaken was saying that this is what will happen if they defeat him so he could be foreshadowing the future events that could lead to Samantha taking his place as the high elder god of the Dark Aether and having her mind twisted to kinda follow the same motives that Zykov did. If the theory that peck wants to use the Warheads that landed in the pacifistic are true and the requiem strike team are there as well. Then if he frees them before using the warheads to enter a breach to the Dark Aether he could then enter it and would be in surprise as to see that Samantha would have taken the role that the forsaken had originally sat in. I know there are a lot of Holes in this theory and that it could be fleshed out much more but i just wanted to get the idea out there and maybe people can maybe fill the holes that might still be left with this theory.
