Ask anyone and they'll tell you the same thing as a mercedes fan I was getting bored as hell watching Lewis and bottas race each other and there really being no competition. Last year was a banger almost every race was epic as hell so many great races and moments. George boy getting p2 ocon getting a podium Lewis and Alonso scrapping it out Dani boy getting a podium. The battles between Lewis and max were epic. Brazil was epic. Bottas bowling in Hungary lol. Lewis brake magic in baku with Max's Tyre blowout I can keep going on and on. So I really don't know what races you watched but iv never been more excited to see another race. This year is looking to be pretty fucking epic also hoping mercedes figures out there issues we can see a 3 way fight to the championship that would be epic as fuck when's the last time we had that? It's been a long while. 2021 and 2022 are looking to be the best seasons of the turbo hybrid Era hands down

'Posted a year ago' it said, so I thought this was about 2022, but this obviously was 2021. And that makes quite a difference!

I’m sure it’s been said but what sucks the most about how this turned out is the divide it caused between the fan base. I loved that people generally liked the sport more than a driver or a team. It stinks that we as fans can’t celebrate a generational talent in Max to the fullest because we wanted either to win but in a way that wasn’t controversial. I may be alone in this but I specifically remember having the thought that this was stuff of movies. That the sport I love was going to give us something magical and my only hope was that it ended in a way that wasn’t controversial. I am of the camp that feels that Lewis got cheated out of it. But it sucks because Max didn’t do anything wrong and deserved to win.

They were divided well before this race. I don't think anyone was robbed. Had they had all the lapped cars overtaken prior, it wouldn't have been such an issue. With all of the distraction of Toto and Christian, it mades managing the safety period more difficult and likely why it took longer.

@@windrose5988 penalties are given on the incident, not the outcome. a 10 second was given and fair for hard racing, heavy fuel and lap 1. what happens after contact genuinely means nothing in stewards decisions. but the newer fanbase from dts have no about that. like yourself. silverstone has nothing to do with AD. where the procedure was clearly altered for the show. completely wrong. no one cared about 2012 finishing under sc. hamilton fans arent salty at losing in AD to rosberg in 2016. its because of what happened and knowing that it was wrong. simple.

At the end of the day there prob isnt anything that can be done now, but if you are a fan with any shred of integrity you know that the rules were broken and it was a fraudulent championship. It has nothing to do with what happened earlier in the season etc bc it came down to equal points at the last last race. Ill never understand people saying Lewis deserved to win in abu dhabi but max deserved the title. Thats not how that works, the winner of this race wins the title and when it came down to it Lewis was owning this race and the latifi crashed which is unfortunate, but it doesnt matter because merc played it perfectly. Merc played by the rules and decided to hold track position because they felt with the amount of laps left the race would not resume ,and there were right, however since masi decided to break the rules and gift Max the win by not only not letting all cars through, but once you let all lapped cars through the rules says you have to do one extra lap. That is what the rules say and that is what has always happened in every SC situation except, yo guessed it this one. If the extra required lap was completed that wouldve been the last lap under the safety car with Lewis finishing P1 and Max P2 with Lewis breaking the record for most drivers championships. Instead Lewis was robbed and despite that people still see this as a great day somehow. The people out there that think this was okay, when you but your whole life into doing something it it is about to all pay off. You are about to be the person standing at the top alone. "Lewis Hamilton 8 Drivers Championships" but instead you are robbed of this because the person who is in charge of the rules that is supposed to be enforcing them gives your rival the win. If you are reading this as a sports fan or just a person in general and you think Max winning was okay here just know you have absolutely 0 integrity in every sense of the word and I would never trust you in anything to play fair.

Not quite what he said. He said both were deserving of a championship and Max had a great season. Today he was lucky with the safety car. It's true, on that day he caught a break. In a season full of bad breaks it sometimes that's what it takes. In the end he is the one that put himself in a situation to win the Championship and yes like anything luck gets involved. He got it when he needed it most and he took full advantage of it. That's a true champ.

If that was true and he truly got fired because of 1 misinterpreted rule that didn't benefit Mercedes, that's pretty messed up and looks really bad on FIA. I wouldn't call it a massive role as in the end it was just 1 lap on one track, it just gets remembered most because it was on the last lap and the last track. If the same incident happens in the first race of the season, no one is talking about it. Still that said, I don't really think he deserved to lose his position. Especially when the investigation basically supported him and couldn't find him at fault. But sadly I think him pissing off Mercedes was what it took. It shows you a lot about the state of the sport and who truly controls it.

Both max and Lewis deserved that championship win both fought hard so saying a driver got "lucky" is in my opinion a weird statement

Lucky and robbed are 2 clear different things. He doesnt say nothing about how the safety car played out but max got lucky that there was a safety car in the first place. So this race max was lucky at the end to have the sc, in the entire championship the luck was clearly on lewis his side tho getting around 75 points over max cuz of luck

Looking back, Over the whole season Max lost more position on track by debatable decisions by the race director and stewards then Lewis. And the controversial one in this race was fully accoreing regulation, so I don't understand why people would be salty in 2022.

They haven’t watched any race. They were driving in it. It’s hard for them to know what exactly is going on in other drivers races, plus drivers generally don’t want to get involved with things like this

The toxic max fans hate Lewis far more than they care about that.

I wonder what the drivers and especially Redbull would have said if it was the other way around and Lewis had won in the last lap with this weird safety car procedure. You have to appreciate how lewis handled that situation. Not sure max and RedBull could have done that. How you behave in loosing shows who you really hard

Looking at Lewis's interviews when he lost in 2016 and comparing it to how gracefully he took the defeat in 2021 shows how much he's matured, even though he's quite old.

You know it's TRUE when nobody can even argue with logic. All they can do is say crybaby lol. Gifted championship for sure. They literally fired the race director after and changed the rules because of it

@@marklower007 hahahaha, it still hurts, but can you show me where Masi is convicted of not working according the rules? He did everything according the rules, they changed the rules because he was in his right and they don’t want this to happen again. They sacked him because of Mercedes, those people who didn’t object that Lewis didn’t get penalized for his double yellow infringement and didn’t had to give his place back for taking advantage by cutting the corner and gaining a position. But I think you Lewy cult boys are blinded by the cloths Lewy is wearing, I am, because I never seen something that hideous. Lewy is the only one caught cheating this season, so now we are in no doubt if he cheated, but when did he cheat more, his 7 DWC’s are worthless, he’s the Lance Armstrong of F1.

I have come back here just to remind scamilton fans that MAX is YOUR F1 Champion and no matter how much crocodile tears you let flow the reality of this race, how Lewis got banged, his dejected sad face at the end of race when he sat devastated in his car for a long time thinking of what Max, Checo and Red Bull just did to him, and the celebrations in the Red Bull camp and those smiles at Max and his team’s faces, those cheap pit stops from Max(bravery) and Lewis’s fear and shitting his pants like a whiny little bitch at the prospect of Max being behind him on fresh tyres ready to grab him by the throat in the last lap, those desperate moments of survival for him, nothing and absolutely nothing is going to change this reality. It has all been recorded in the history books forever 😂😂😂😂 And again, MAX is YOUR F1 WDC.

100% agree. No is saying Max didn't deserve the title, however we as proper racers and f1 fans can't look past what happen. It just isn't right. Like Lando said "I don't know what to say". Says it all..

Cause max was not gonna react about another person wining the championship, considering he was the winner, and Lewis never actually did this interviews if I’m not mistaken

Balu was his own fault. Red Bull CHOSE to run low psi in tyres for increased grip, and paid the price. So did Aston Martin

Lewis deserved to win the race but Max was the best driver on the grid in 2021 and deserved the championship more!
