Forms of Segregation in LV Panels

Dear Electrical stuff family members
Low voltage (LV) panels are an essential component of any electrical system. They are used to control and distribute electrical power to different parts of a building or facility. LV panels are also known as switchgear panels and play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of an electrical system.
One of the key aspects of LV panels is segregation. Segregation refers to the physical separation of different components within the panel to prevent electrical or mechanical failure. There are various forms of segregation that are used in LV panels, and understanding these forms is essential for ensuring the proper functioning and safety of the electrical system.
There are four from of LV panels (,Form1,2,3& 4
Form4 (type1,type2,type3,type4,type4,type5,type6,type7) ,Form4A, &Form4B ) , which is explain in this video ,this is most important question which is asking during interviews (specially gulf jobs ).
segregation is an essential aspect of LV panels, and it is important to understand the different forms of segregation in order to ensure the proper functioning and safety of the electrical system. Whether it's horizontal, vertical, by insulation, by distance, or by enclosure, each form of segregation serves a specific purpose and helps to prevent electrical faults and minimize the risk of electrocution. It is crucial to choose the right form of segregation based on the specific requirements of the electrical system and to ensure that the LV panel is installed and maintained properly.

The main purpose of the form classification is based on separation of busbars and functional units the main purpose of this is safety . regarding Arc , As per type test requirement the keep the enough spacing distance between the busbars /terminal units. hope i answer your question

Hi. Thanks for the video. This is the best video on forms of separation for switchgears that I have come across. I have a question. For Form 4A type 1 and 2 the busbar separation is achieved by having insulated covering on the busbar as shown in the 7:00 mark of the video. But for Form 4A type 3, the image of the switchgear is shown and the busbar does not have any insulated covering (busbars are brown not black). Then insulated covering appears again for the From 4B boards types 4, 5, 6 and 7. Am I missing something here? Appreciate your advice please. Thanks.

As i said in video For 4A type 2 & 3 required solid insulation coverings ,this picture which i picked only shows the gland not shown the solid covering which is error. thanks for picking . Rest are ok . Thank you so much and appreciated for picking these narrow items.

Is it possible to make form 3 to form 4 because we delivered some panels based on form 3 but client needs form 4 now. How to achieve form 4 now ?

Hi Akram can you explain is it your panels are form 3 type B . If so if your terminal units can separate with the help of plastic barriers. But issue is that your client may ask for type test reports .further to that We have to check any space available to provide segregation of terminal units To understand for more details contact your switch gear specialist. He can guide you
