Former TESLA employee: "Tesla stock will be worth $1M" 🚀📈 (interview Joe Justice)

Ғылым және технология

In this interview with Joe Justice, who operated agile at Tesla during 2020, he reveals secrets about how Elon Musk's company works using agile methodologies in a radical way.
Joe Justice book, Scrum Master: amzn.to/307TrEv
Joe Justice is currently president of the Agile Institute and CEO of the wikispeed team that in 2010 went head-to-head with Tesla in an event called the “Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize” and surprisingly wikispeed beat Tesla. Wikispeed still has four world records that have yet to be broken.

I've listened to a podcast interview with him a short while ago. Before I was confident that Tesla might stay ahead even if legacy auto would get serious. After this my opinon changed to everyone else is f*****. At best they can run behind Tesla and will most likely still loose ground. If changing themselves is at all possible it will take them years and lots of money to work through the resistances. Most will run out of money because of collapsing delivery numbers or fail because of internal and external resistance. All those years will be plenty of time for Tesla to have eaten their pie. I see Tesla at 4-5 Trillion by 2025 and 10 Trillon by 2030.

The sheer breath and depth that that conversation would lead just boggles the mind. And while I love getting into the weeds with this stuff because it's great to glean new insights to help you model the stock better...but just getting the nitty-gritty on the day to day is amazing. Between Sandy's OG stories and lack of patience for corporate BS and Joe Justice's granular understanding of how Tesla operates the most modern and progressive car factories in the world...that'd be an episode I'd cancel all plans for.

That was so fascinating about how the company is set up. I knew before that anyone had a voice and Elon would listen to any idea and get back to you whether or not it would work and explain why. But I knew nothing about no chain of command and not have any managers. Equal pay and big discounts on stock options if you're an employee. And whatever expertise you have you can just float from department to department that has that type need and you can even learn or affect other departments that don't fall under your specialty. Simply incredible!

I’m doing an applied business course in school rn and it sucks balls. Today we did tall, flat and matrix structures, and then I came home to hear how Tesla’s organisational structure restructures itself in minutes according to their needs at the time with the Tesla apps and deep learning and people literally just start helping and doing whatever will most improve things at that moment. It’s crazy and truly inspiring to see how Elon throws out the useless and keeps the valuable in everything. The best organisational structure is not some bs you learned in school. If there’s a better way to do it, you do it.

Incredible!!! I learned a great deal. I wish I was 40yrs younger and going through my career again! I'd certainly have a different mindset, for sure. Thank you for this.

As a long term Tesla stockholder, I'd like to make a suggestion. Some of the energy and enthusiasm and adaptability that clearly goes on in the Tesla factories should go on in the Tesla service business. Like having FAR more spare parts in a consistent network, where customers can be confident in the spare part infrastructure. Or like having better and more consistent communication with customers when they get their cars worked on or have issues or questions. As a potential future Tesla customer, things like parts and service are very important to me, and I have to believe that's true for much of the middle class.

This would attract more people into buying Tesla, but it may (will?) have an impact on their margin. So this won't be their priority until cars become hard to sold. That's my guess, Sorry for broken english. edit: fixed some broken english.

Just thinking maybe Tesla has a gap in business intelligence reporting such spare part / customer waiting for service issues?

Tesla isn't interested in spare parts that much. They are interested in reducing the incidents that require spare parts. This is where you get the FSD initiative among other things.

Amazingly insightful interview. Pieces all starting fall into place. The amazement conveyed multiple times by Munro Live KZread channel, of innovation, implementation and production speed of Tesla are now fully understandable: Tesla and the other Musk companies are simply operating in their own league.
