I was a planner at Rotek and the problem is not with the maintenance during the refurbishment process but the integrity behind the lifex of the units are running and the intervals of inspection. Machines are ramped up and shutdown too fast and that philosophy needs to be reviewed based on the age and requirement to run efficiently south Africa has the artisans and the engineers within the Eskom group to maintain this philosophy effectively but the group's on grid management forces deadlines and reduces repair scopes to bring units back sooner without considering to economising in critical strategic spares to reduce the down time for maintenance so don't question the engineering and capabilities by doing the work but these sectors being forced to reduce on minimum recommendations which is causing continuous blackouts

He literally said our problem is lack of intelligence and that we need to make some kind of reform to improve it. Many of our kids nowadays don't try at school because they either don't care due to the obvious lack of opportunity or lack of resources to be educated properly. His answer was clear, its just that many don't want to do it. We're too afraid of major change nowadays. We didn't end apartheid by being afraid of change so we shouldn't be afraid now.

In 1975, 13% of Blacks and Coloureds in South Africa got degrees. In 2015, it was down to 5%. This is from the South African Government's 25-year review, published in 2019. Meanwhile, the number of Whites who got degrees in 1975 was 19% and now it's 25%. The number of artisans produced per annum dropped from 33,000 to 22,000 between 1985 and 1995 and later declined to 4,500 in 2005. That number was up to 20,000 in 2017. Most of the artisan training was done by Eskom, but nowhere near 33,000, and what of the lost number of artisans, perhaps 200,000 artisans missing from the South African workforce? At the same time as this, the number of Universities decreased from 36 to 26 between 1994 and 2017. 152 Technical colleges were reduced to 50 between 1994 and 2017. 1,828 CET (Community Education and Training) colleges reduced to 9!!

With Chris Hani tragically and most untimely leaving us at the time of crucial negotiations, the stage was set for an Euro-American satellite state. These are well known slave and colonial masters, who will never mean anything better for the masses of this country. Mbeki mocked all of us with his slogan of "Better Life for All"!! Where is it??? Arms deal, who benefitted?? World Cup, who benefitted most?? The older generation has decimally failed the masses of this country, more so, the young generation. It is now up to the youngsters to resolutely craft out and implement a 50 year social economic development plan founded on the Freedom Charter, while keeping clear of the machinations of distortions and state capture by the slave and colonial masters. They have depleted their natural resources, and once again heading to Africa through South Africa? Cry the Beloved Country/Continent!!
