I don't care if the cop didn't wake up that morning with the intention to run somebody down, he did. That fact that he was released on his own cognizance is just disgusting. His actions go against his training and common sense. There is NO way he couldn't have known that was a possible outcome. THIS is why people hate the police. You never know which one could be the next murderer and if you would be the next victim. AND they always let them retire.

Michigan still has the fleeing felon law in place (Tennessee vs Garner restricted use of deadly force in some instances) so likely this is a grandstanding case to try and overturn that. These officers knew they were after a fleeing felon who was going to prison for parole violations. It was likely he was armed as that was one of his MO's, he was also running towards an occupied building. While hitting this fleeing felon might not have been the intent the job of stopping him got done and the public one violent thug safer. You can also bet that the crying mommie and family has aided and abetted considerably during his almost 2 years of evading capture, why are they not being charged. The criminal justice system has to change and the pampering of violent criminals has to end, we have prisons for a reason and that is to house those who victimize society with their crimes. This should be an quick and easy case, and hopefully this officer can sue for malicious prosecution and sit fat and happy with a few million michigan tax payer dollars.

First I'd like to say I absolutely detest this AG lady which I consider worthless to the real world we live in. and that being said, Charging him with murder is a over the top of common reason. There's many mitigating circumstances at play here and lets not forget the MSP were the Good guys chasing the bad guys so in that context this man died due to HIS poor CRIMINAL choices. I think it's a travesty of justice to go after the good guys when one of the bad guys dies. THEY know the rules of the street; "Play with fire there's always a chance you'll get burned" He did and I say Oh well....shouldn't have lived the hood life. Lets also consider all the fine things this fine felon would go on to do later had he lived.
