I admire Betty. I don't imagine it was easy after the fame she achieved as Miss America to start over as an American Idol contestant. She has a good voice and she showed a lot of kindness helping Kelsie through the duet round. All the best to her going forward.

She should NOT have been eliminated- must be a reason they did not air her showstopper performance.. it would have blown away who they did pick. She was the HEART of the show. They should make her a wildcard!

She will be fine!! She will have a career! She will win not only the music industry even the movie industry! It was a gift that they let her go

She should be hired by American Idol as a motivational speaker for the idols. She is good at that.

I'm highly disappointed...I would have placed her in my top ten easily.....i cant believe this...and why didn't they show us the showstopper performance.

So I have a friend who actually made it to the top 10 back when Jordan Sparks won and she told me that at the end of the day, this show is not about THE MOST talented. They basically cast the show like a regular show. They have the hot guy singer, hot girl singer, the nerdy guy singer, the nerdy girl singer, the over weight singers and of course they have to fill slots with whites, blacks and other ethnicities. They have certain looks they have to check off. She said that the contestants you see on TV (on the live shows), are no where near as talented as some of the people who didn’t get past the city auditions, all because they didn’t have the look or a “story”. She also said that if they went purely by talent and vocal ability you would have had a different American idol than the ones who have actually won. So it’s all about checking off the boxes of what the producers feel people want to see (look wise) and who has the most heart tugging story to keep viewers tuning in. Not the most talented.

I would definitely agree with this. I've noticed this for years that they seem to look for diverse demographics for their top 20. It seems like every year they have a hispanic singer, a black gospel singer, a gay singer, a quirky singer/songwriter type, a hot girl, a hot guy, a country girl, a country guy and a rocker.

Completely agree; it's part talent show and part "Reality TV", plus once the audience starts voting the talent criteria goes out the window. You only have to look at the season where Adam Lambert lost to see it.

Betty, you are beautiful and wonderful. You do not need American Idol. You have so much more going for you. I could see at the start there were some strange things happening there and I just have to say it is a good thing that you are out of there. There is good planned for you. God is in control of your life. Stay in Him.

I loved her voice, ..and her

So, she sounds WAY better on tik tok than she did on American idol. On American idol she didn’t sound very authentic. She sounded karaoke & very shakey. On tik tok, she sounds INCREDIBLE. Like, for sure an insane talent

That's disappointing I didn't know she was cut. I thought she was very good.

Even she is eliminated from American Idol. She could be a Host, Actress and Model

She would have never been eliminated. She was too good of a singer to be eliminated. Where is the video of the song she sang? Why didn't they show it on this weeks shows and later her being told by the judges that she was eliminated? If she would have made it to the top 12 she would have won. She was only on the show to up the ratings and she probably got a good paycheck from the AI top brass in return.

A little surprised she did not get into the top 24. It seems that fans are against pretty women on the show as most won't make it to the final 24. I have a hard time remembering when any have made it. Luke saying "she is too pretty" came true. People could not look past it.

You just said "like" 45 times.

I think she has a really good voice. She just needs to break out of the beauty pageant way of singing and get more raw, emotional and authentic. It sounds too much like a theater voice at the moment but if she can break out of that she could be amazing.

Loved her singing! So talented! Hated this interview she gave.. She said the word “like”about I don’t know 30 times throughout the whole talk. One of those things that makes me cringe when people do it. They sound less intelligent than they really are. Her voice will take her places! I wish the best for her!! 😉

It's a piggy back word. It literally just means someone's thinking, or trying to put their words together the best way. Some people go um, some people go silent, and some people say like 🤦🏽‍♂️, and you probably have one too

Unfortunately that is the way young people talk. Virtually every young person say 'like' all the time. My kids and their friends the same 🙁

When I found out I didn’t make American idol , she posted cry face? The need for attention she should probably be more concerned with getting a psychiatrist or counselor, not getting likes

I have an electric car. I use it to transport old car batteries to Pismo Beach where I will then drive up to the water and unload the car batteries into the ocean so they may float happily across the waves and to a better life on the ocean floor where humans can't use them ever again.

Amazing what makeup can do. With it I want her, without it, never mind. Before you get married guys, make sure you see her without makeup. If this Woman as her normal self told me she was a Miss America I would say "Sure you were".

Makeup is not a magic trick lmao. It's perfectly visible that she has mascara, browpencil, lipstick, etc. on. It's not her fault that you're blind or think that women are born with this stuff on!💀

have u not dated anyone at all? Considering she was devastated and was crying, she's actually still really pretty without the makeup. You need to touch some grass if you think all pretty girls look pretty all the time.
