i mean think of it- you plan this home invasion- pump yourself up. Grab your shotty and BOOM, kick in the door- You go upstairs yelling commands looking to intimidate, you clear the room, and next thing you know this 5'8" 120 lb kid tries to tackle you. He latches on to your gun for all he's worth and you cannot get it back. You then drag him DOWN THE STAIRS while he death grips that shotty. You finally give up and exit the home , with no shotgun, and as you do you hear it... "WRONG HOUSE, BUSTER"... and you think to yourself... What kind of sick demented psychopath says "BUSTER?!" after ALL THAT.

I’m guessing these people live in a state with no castle law. If it was when the bad guy returned and forced entry, legally he could shoot him. Should of too. We all know the armed robber would of shot them to save himself. Prob will attempt it again this time with more violence to gain control.

I’m amazed at how many women take absolutely no roll in helping their man’s life or death struggle while fighting off a violent criminal who clearly is there to attack both of them! Parents really need to teach their daughters not to be victims! I’m so glad that I had a father that taught my brothers & me self defense, as well as the responsibility of defending each other. Regarding her reaction, this is also a learned behavior. I remember that I was the type that froze as a kid but my mom and dad both were always the first person at the scene trying to help people without looking around to other bystanders and they are both pretty helpful at these situations. When I grew older I got better at it only because I saw how they reacted times and times. So if she was my type without people with different reaction growing up, she truly doesn’t know how to help.

Years ago, as I was sleeping at my then girlfriend's place, a guy tried entering her apartment via a glass sliding door that led into her main bedroom. I was still awake and immediately reached for my handgun on the nightstand. She screamed, ran all the way around to my side slamming into me, which caused me to drop the handgun and then she tried hiding under the bed, which she didn't fit under...at all. I then, while tripping over her feet, recovered the handgun and thankfully I had insured the glass door was locked prior to going to bed (despite her saying it was) and the guy looked drunk or high. Long story short. I had to give her commands to call 911 and told her verbatim what to tell the operator. He wandered off and the police found him later. Thankfully nothing happened and I was later able to teach my now ex girlfriend (not for that reason) how to better respond to emergency situations. You cannot prep for everything but at least try to give your partner and subsequently yourself the best chance.

Her actions were super suspicious to me in my opinion. What was she checking on her phone while he was fighting for their lives? If she was going to call the police why didn’t she dial 911? Also the perp was really comfortable it seemed to walk into someone’s home like that without urgency through an unlocked door, pay her no mind after noticing her to assume she was no threat at all, and even asking for his weapon back after it was taken from him. It make it safe to assume he knew the area without doubt and more than likely her. If it was me and I had no other crimes to hide I’d have the cops or fbi look deeper into the incident and her.

And I swear that I see her glance over when he is coming up the stairs, but she looks back down at her phone and looks up again but when she DEFINITLEY sees him, its the same exact reaction... which was no reaction at all. not even shifting her feet or holding her hands in front of her face or trying to look away from the gun. for someone who "has never had a gun pointed at her face", she sure does keep her cool. almost every human being flinches, ducks, or holds their hands in front of their face to shield themselves out of instinct. super sketchy and even her interview is weird. she says she was scared but the guy is the only one showing fear when recalling the night. she actually smiles...

Everyone who is concerned about their personal security needs to remember that regardless of a significant emotional event, they’re going to be so pumped up after that it’s hard to recall what happened, or even be able to describe in an articulate manner. One of the biggest mistakes in my eyes that people make is having a false sense of security. I don't care who you are or where you live. From the hood all the way to Silicone Valley. Have a plan of action. Understand your house and where to hide or the best defensive position. Something else I do is pay attention to the sounds of the house. I know who's coming up the stairs most of the time just how they walk. I grew up in a very bad place and it was common for someone to break into your house. Where I live now is pretty peaceful for the most part. There have been a few instances of attempted break ins but most of the time they get shut down by neighbors or homeowners.

I was in a situation where I was disabled (walking with a crutch, I was able to walk but not without a single crutch) and someone saw it as an opportunity to mug me. I was carrying groceries in the other hand and I noticed a guy rapidly approaching me, his body language was clearly abnormal. I had a rush of adrenaline, dropped my groceries and my crutch and backed up quickly and was able to escape the situation. Luckily the police had just pulled into the lot and saw the situation unfold. Turned out he had a knife on him and had already victimized another person in the lot minutes earlier. It's amazing how adrenaline works, it was almost as if I had completely forgotten that i had a recovering broken ankle and was able to move so fast. Of course, it hurt like a mf after the adrenaline wore off. I think that watching all these active self protection style videos helped me to drop what was in my hands and look for an escape in that situation. I am now pursuing obtaining my concealed carry in my state. Anyways, thank you for posting these videos that give an analysis on what can be done in scenarios like this one.

Good for you for getting your conceal carry liscinse, there's a city that requires all houses to have at least one legal gun, home invasions and rape cases decreased about 89-90% for both. Everyone should conceal carry, especially women which is why women lead men in conceal liscences.

I think the move in that spot is to wrap your whole body around him and put him in a rear-naked choke hold. Yank back and have him land on top of you and keep choking him until your man wins on his end. The police are minutes away and your lives are in the balance right then. Getting on the phone in that moment is no help. She needed to physically act and she didnt.

I found myself skipping around trying to see what happens but then I miss a lot of your feedback. Makes more sense to watch it through first thing. Especially when the video is only about 20 seconds long.
