Former Dutch National Anthem: Wien Neêrlands Bloed

"Wien Neêrlands bloed" ("Those in whom Dutch blood") is a Dutch patriotic song, and was the national anthem of the Kingdom of the Netherlands between 1815 and 1932. The lyrics were written by Hendrik Tollens, and the music composed by Johann Wilhelm Wilms.
At the foundation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 1815, it was decided that a new national anthem was needed, in order to adopt a politically neutral hymn. This new hymn would replace "Het Wilhelmus", which was considered as being too factional due to its Orangist associations.
However, by the 20th century, "Wien Neêrlands bloed" was officially replaced by "Het Wilhelmus", which became the national anthem once more on 10 May 1932. The replacement had much to do with the fact the "new" 1815 anthem had become even more controversial than the "Wilhelmus" had been, with Socialists refusing to sing it.

Lors de la fondation du Royaume des Pays-Bas en 1815, il a été décidé qu'un nouvel hymne national était nécessaire, afin d'adopter un hymne politiquement neutre. Ce nouvel hymne devait remplacer Het Wilhelmus, considéré comme trop fractionnel en raison de ses associations orangistes.
Cependant, au XXe siècle, Wien Neêrlands bloed a été officiellement remplacé par Het Wilhelmus, qui est redevenu l'hymne national le 10 mai 1932. Ce remplacement s'explique en grande partie par le fait que le nouvel hymne de 1815 était devenu encore plus controversé que le Wilhelmus, avec les socialistes qui refusaient de le chanter.

Bij de oprichting van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in 1815 werd besloten dat er een nieuw volkslied moest komen om een politiek neutrale hymne aan te nemen. Deze nieuwe hymne zou "Het Wilhelmus" vervangen, dat als te factioneel werd beschouwd vanwege de oranjegezinde associaties.
In de 20e eeuw werd "Wien Neêrlands bloed" echter officieel vervangen door "Het Wilhelmus", dat op 10 mei 1932 opnieuw het volkslied werd. De vervanging had veel te maken met het feit dat het "nieuwe" volkslied uit 1815 nog controversiëler was geworden dan het "Wilhelmus" was geweest, omdat socialisten weigerden het te zingen.

Question why , Anthems are not copy righted , as they are public domain and most of these older songs are considered classical music or military marches. Full of worlds history . Its like saying you cant have a video of the French national anthem as it has graphic violence all written throughout the song ,

@@revilsanjiani146 This was a anthem written for the Kingdom of the united netherlands Netherlands Belgium and Luxembought as one nation . it was only in use a few decades . As the original Wilhelmus Was still used by the population as Anthem , Used since the 1500s as war song of resistance . and finaly was officialy adopted in to law as national anthem in the 1930 as well what the official national colours should be . Oldest anthem oldest tricolour used before the dutch republic of the 7 united provinces , before the kingdom Holland , Kindom of the united netherlands and kindom of the Netherlands . @@marcusfranconium3392It wouldn't make sense to copyright national anthems, that's like reserving them to commercial use. Also, most national anthems' composers and writers have died for more than 70 years, which is the deadline for copyrighted work.

As official national anthem , as the Willhelmus was the original unofficial national anthem for centuries . Just like the porclomation of the dutch national flag to have Red white and Bleu , instead of the orange white and bleu or variations in colour tones.

The Duke of Alba will not thank you. He hated the place and repeatedly requested the Spanish King to be called home. Try Alessandro Farnese, Duke of Parma. He was a more capable commander and could have done the job if the King hadn't ordered him to go fight in France just when he was at his most successful. :D
