Former British Prime Minster Gordon Brown on How Fix Our fractured World.

Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, UN Special Envoy for Global Education and the World Health Organization's Ambassador for Global Health Finance joins business leader Mohamed A. El-Erian and Nobel laureate Michael Spence with a provocative vision for transforming our broken world.
The three leaders have certainly managed their share of crises. Gordon Brown is renowned for preventing a second Great Depression in 2009 by mobilising global leaders to walk the world back from the financial brink. As CEO of PIMCO, Mohamed A. El-Erian led one of the world’s biggest investment managers, overseeing $2 trillion in assets, and served as the Chair of Obama’s Global Development Council. And the insights of economics Nobel laureate Michael Spence have changed the way the world conducts business and understands economic growth.
Today we face not one crisis but a cascade: sputtering growth, surging inflation, poor policy responses, an escalating climate emergency, worsening inequality, increasing nationalism and a decline in global co-operation. But though the situation seems dire, it is not yet broken beyond repair.
The longer a problem goes unresolved, the worse it will get; that’s what happens in a permacrisis - and that’s why we must act now.

I don't think i'll bother listening to the man who sold our gold at 300. In the industry it's known as the Brown Bottom. Very poor judgement as Chancellor of Exchequer. Moving on ....

There’s a difference between business and economics friend. Personally, I’m keen to hear from the person that led the global response to the 2008 financial crisis, and stopped us from going into a depression, bearing in mind our current geo-economic challenges.

@@jamesanthony4034 normally I ignore people like you, but I am honestly curious. You don’t like Brown - fine. I didn’t much like him at the time either. Can you name a modern British politician that you do like? I’d be keen to learn about the kind of politician more intelligent people than myself like?
