This was right on point. My daughter and I are so different in size that I always have to redo .Tried your method for her and it fit so perfectly she thought I got a pattern. Thanks for this. Waiting anxiously for bikini bottoms.
You measure the bust and measure the waist ... figure out the difference set the number aside.. whatever half the waist comes to, add that number and that should be the front of your top... your welcome...

What do you mean the front of the top? Like the length of the bust? The height? I'm lost

The bikini one can’t be right 22inch each if I have a bust 36 and waist 28? I can understand the halter top being 14inch half of my waist. Surely she should mean each cup should stretch to 7? So confused 😂

This was awesome! Thank you so much! You should totally do a video for sweaters too!
Yes can you make the video for the sweater and bottom measurements I am having a difficult time with my sweater measurements. Love your work thanks for sharing.
Thank you for making this video! It cleared up a lot of questions I had regarding my own tops.
This is amazing!!! Thank you. I've been trying to work out how to size my pieces and getting totally lost, this is sooooo helpful

Oh my God I needed this. Been trying to make a bra for my sister who doesn't live with me and I had no idea how I was going to do it. Thank you so much for this video
Yay! I have your same measurements!😊 Thanks for this video, super helpful!
Thank you! This is good info!! I'm going to use this, my crocheted clothes kept coming out different sizes and i wasn't stretching it when i measured it!!
I found this! What a relief. Now I can finally make a bra to hold me correctly the what that "I" want it. Thanks a million!

Great tutorial!!!! One of my favorites! Thank you!
Dana, this is great! I've been watching your videos for about a year now and I love your style. Thank you for all you do :)
Oh great, NOW I come across this video!! UHGGG I just completed my second try at a crochet top today, both too big😁....at least NOW I know the proper way to get it right, thanks! I just subscribed!!
Yes Please Make More! I’ve been crocheting for 4-5years and I still haven’t caught on to the whole gauge and measurements🤯 and I love making tops but when it comes to making them I’m all over the map, Everyone explains it differently and everyone learns slowly...umm that’s me😂, so please Dana do some more videos 😊 Thank You!
I have been watching your vids since last year. .its soo amazing how your channel is growing... keep up the good work hun and you should totally do a video for sweaters
This was honestly the easiest and most helpful video on crochet bra sizing. I’ve been so confused and just guessing but now I have a great and simple method. Thank you so much sharing this information!
Hey Dana. I got lost when you were explaining the measurements lol. I did not understand this. Might you be able to do another or have it written out somewhere? Thank you
I’m going to try it. Thank you for the tips. 😊
Love this!! Helped me so much with my tops!! PLEASE do one for bottoms & sweaters too!! my biggest problem I had was I was crocheting an oversized sweater & using this method made it smaller than what I wanted & i had to go back & crochet more rows on the side, but when i crocheted my foundation chain to the exact inch i wanted it would get bigger as i would keep going. Obviously its trial & error but how would you go about fixing that?
Thank you so much for this! I love your videos!
I'm checking your channel now to see if you did a video like this for bottoms or dresses. This is great!
Can you please send me directions on how to match up the yarn to measurements. Like I get you measure the waist and bust i just got lost when you started subtracting and adding lol
Thank you this is so helpful! Can you please make one on bottoms and also if making a top for someone else, how do you know how long to make the straps for the top?
Thank you for talking about stretch :) I couldn't find much information on it elsewhere...
I need tips for crocheting clothing and stuff. My clothing keeps having holes wish shows parts j don't want to show. It's awkward and I need tips to prevent gaps or cove them up
Could you make a video for the bottoms? I really love these tips/tricks!! Thank you so much for sharing 💕

That yarn works so well for bralettes
Thank you so much for sharing this! I started crocheting last fall and have been struggling getting this correct in every piece I’ve made. Really awesome tips
Please please do one for sweaters and bottoms!!! ♥️
Please do another tutorial showing this method with bottoms. Thanks for sharing
This was really helpful, thanks
Do you think you can crochet a large backpack that people can use for school? My school is strict and requires a specific color of backpack, which I bought a looooong time ago and it broke, and I can't find another one in that color AT ALL. I _do_ have a yarn that color though, which had me thinking.... I could crochet a backpack. And I'll see if my favorite crocheters could help me! I'm going to start a backpack collection! ...even though I can only wear a single color of bag. Oh dear.

It's possible but you will need to reinforce the bottom to keep it from sagging and you will need to use a strong cord to crochet over with whatever yarn you have. It has to be washable for easy care. If you look up Wayuu Mochila, you will understand the fundamentals required to create a sturdy, fashionable backpack.
can u make a full video tutorial on how to make this..
Thank you so much for this!!!
do you have any tips for sizing crochet tops that will not have an adjustable back? Even using my own measurements they get stuck at my shoulders and are just generally harder to get on
So you have this pattern with straps over shoulder and not around neck ?
Please, make more videos on crocheting children toys, clothes, etc. I love your videos.💚
You should do a tutorial for a jumpsuit
Thank you so much!! 1 question. I am doing a pattern and it says chain 30 if your rib cage is 29 mine is 31. So how many would I chain?. I chain 46 for the first one and then the second one I went with 20 inches
Thank you for this!
thank u this was really helpful
Thank you for the video, I will like to know how to measure shorts
Thank you very very helpful
If your measurement for a halter is only half of your waist size for 15" ...do you not need to do increases as you get to the under bust height to achieve 20" to accommodate your bust ?
I want to see you make EVERYTHING.
Can you please make a video of your measurement instructions for bottoms/skirts and sleeves?
I love your videos... Can you please add the video how to make the top you have on this video?
Please make about her video for bottoms ‼️👏🏽🥺❤️❤️
CleverNESS!!
Thank you so much ❤
Can you post a video of how to make the top your wearing on the video please
❤️
Thank you!
did you ever make a video about this but for bottoms or sweaters?!??
Hi, would like to ask how to measurs torso?
I’m a waist 28 and bust 36. So that would make the cup 22inches? I’m soooooo confused. I’m literally a 36 A and that would be a huge cup size for me. Please can you help? I don’t understand this at all😂
Hi. Can you make a tutorial how you measure and achieve the perfect size for dress and fitted dress? Thank you
I would also like you to make a video giving instructions for a sweater, no matter what pattern I try they never seem to fit properly, thanks in advance best regards carol
Good thinking because I want to know how much chains I need to use to make the bikini bottom and good thinking againg
When is your site coming backb
Do you have an actual video on this top ?
what about the height of the cup? like how am i gonna know how many chains i make in the beginning so that it turns out long enough?
Heya. Is the top in the thumbnail the bikini version or the halter top version. I want to make one exactly like that so not sure which it is. This was extremely helpful to find Mt size thank you. If someone could let me know which top it is I'd be very grateful xx
I really love your explanation But my question is what if the torso is 30 and you divide it to 15 right will I add 15inchs to both side of the cup(15inchs to one cup and another 15inchs to the other cup =30 right ) and won't it be too big Please explain
@DanaBold

If your whole torso(wrapping around your back is 30) what is your boob measurement? 15 would be the front so subtract 15 from the boob measurement and divide that by 2 for each cup measurement. Hope that makes sense

I miss your tutorials 😞
Can You Make One For Bikini Bottoms??
Do you have a tutorial for the top on the cover video ? I thought this video was a tutorial on how to make the top
I had to pause as soon as i heard tape measure. Very few people who crochet ever use a tape measure especially because it does help in making sizes for others you can't see
Could I use 24/7 dk
This is such awesome info, thank you for sharing. Please please do a tutorial on bottoms as well😘
what would my measurements be if my waist was 35 in. and my bust was 46 in. ?
Please include bottoms, shirts and sweaters.
Great info.... question how do I get the correct measurements for a corset back

If I’m understanding correctly, you’ll measure your waist & bust. Subtract the waist & bust measurements. Divide the waist measurement. Then ADD the leftover total from the SUBTRACTED amount & ADD it to your HALF amount.. Confusing, I know. So here’s a better breakdown.. Her measurements are 30” for the waist & 35” for the bust. So you subtract 30 from 35 which leaves you with 5. Then you divide 30 (which is 15) & you add the total amount from your subtraction to that total, which will equal 20. So when she crochets something for herself, she measures it by making sure it stretches to 20 inches.. Hopefully this helps. I’m still trying to grasp the concept myself, so I’m just sharing what I PERSONALLY understood. Lol.
What's your blog's address?
I never thought about the piece having to be stretched when measured. No wonnndddeeerrrrr
the blog doesn't work anymore
