Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
We dig out and rescue a forgotten Vw Bus buried in a garage where it has been sitting for 30 years! Parked for 30 years, how bad is it? Can it be saved? Engine seized? Will it run and drive again?

Man I love old vw s had a 1959 in 69. Sold it to my best friend when I was drafted in 1971. USMC man great old cars
Man I’m glad to see your still putting out videos really missed seeing you pulling out these old vw’s and putting them back on the road. At least this on doesn’t seem to have a mouse nest or full of pine cones. I can’t wait to see how you fix this one.

Hi Marty , thank you , I appreciate it. Yes, I vacuumed what little was in it yesterday and wiped it all out. I am very happy with the floors , and no funky odors in the cab :)). I'm going get into the engine today, I hope it's not stuck from that wet / condensation garage.

Ha! You crack me up. Anytime my wife gives me guff for another Volkswagen. I show her your videos and all is forgiven. I had a 75 westfalia and the fuel injection was awesome! It never let me down. Drove it everywhere in the 90s. My kids cried when I sold that bus. I should have never sold it. It would cruise at 70 and off road it was awesome. One of the most practical Volkswagen ever. Cheers 🥂
Love watching you pull these old VW's out of there resting place!
Not too bad, you've certainly drug home worse. Also.. When the heck did you hit 100k!? Congratulations, Jason!

My family and I were living in Solon, Maine in 1981. A 1972 VW bus very similar to this configuration and was bought to take the kids to Christian school. Our van was a dark tan. It sounded like a tank and was so fun to drive because you are sitting over the front wheels. I know what I will say next will be looked at skeptically but the engine developed trouble and my step-father brought it to the local VW repair shop in Skowhegan, Maine. What was told to me as a 15 year old driver (yes, in Maine you can get your drivers license at 15) was that the repair was done wrong and the heads were placed on backwards and never ran right after that. Is that even possible? I don’t know and that’s all I remember. My parents sold it. Such a bummer. I loved that van. I am looking for one now and hope to find one that is not too new, too destroyed, and too expensive. Any leads in the Northern VA area would be appreciated. Good video, Bub. God bless.
As my father used to say , hobbies can be a lot of work. He was into steam tractors, everything was BIG and HEAVY
Good bones. Definitely worth restoring. Original paint is nice and worth keeping unless it's rust and rot. Not a difficult project and a money maker. Piece of cake.
Great to see you again Jason, To bad about the cancer on that bus! Still a nice find, sorry about the receding hairline! It happens to the best of us!
That body is going to take some major labor and money...but well worth it to get it back on the road and driving.

Each week I'm looking for a video from you, glad to see you back.
A whole month of sleepless nights, going, where's my friend Jason. And then Mustie1 was away for two weeks. Thought I was going to need some therapy. But, then you both posted videos and I knew y'all had made it through the miserable heat and humidity. Glad to see you back and God bless. You constantly surprise me with the projects you take on. I knew it was going to be Jason haha. Enjoy the bus bud, it's a very good find. And hopefully I'll see it around town.

oh man what the heck is that ???? I knew someone was already there or something as there were handprints on the windshield. I was on the rollercoaster too. I spoke to him on friday and he said he couldn't show it friday . So I was supposed to come down Saturday . He called me back friday night and said i'm sorry i sold the bus....ok? thanks I thought I was in for saturday...yada yada take care. Phone rings at like 11pm " jason, i apologize i did not sell the bus " ....oookaayyy, so are we on for saturday morning ? yes. ok. Saturday morning my phone rings " jason , i have an offer of 4k " ...omg , i'll be up this morning to see the bus and look it over, I can't make an offer on something with only one photo. He calls me on the way there , " the man has offered 5k now jason " ...lol...yep see u soon. It wasn't me blowing up the price on the bus , I never made him an offer until I saw it. If you guys still want it shoot me an email at J5150mxvw@yahoo.com and leave me a contact # , i will give you a call. It's cleaning up inside very nice , and the engine is not stuck .
Smashed front end...must be a Grateful Dead fan?? 🤘👴🤙
Glad you are still around. Actually checked to see if my subscription to your channel was deleted! Anyway another bus that needed to be rescued. Check carefully for rust in the chassis around the rear torsion tubes. That would be bad. That front axle might be a bit suspect as well. Mileage looks genuine so that is good. The stock fuel injection will likely have plugged injectors and lines after all those years. Don't put crappy carburetors on it though. The stock fuel injection is superior to carbs in every way. Lots of information on TheSamba as usual... Have fun!

My dad bought many VW’s in the ‘70s. He bought a bus exactly like this and had fuel system trouble. He hated the injection. My twin brother and I had to bottle feed it fuel while leaning over the back seat to get it 60 miles home. Dad parked it and never drove it again. When he died in ‘79 someone bought it for next to nothing.
This one is a lot better than some I've seen you drag out. Enjoy

Very nice 👍 wish I had it it will keep you bizy for a while
My guess is that with the popularity of old VW anything these days, that is ATLEAST a $15,000 to $20,000 vehicle as it sits. Plus another $5000 with recent inflation. Do the rust repairs and you are looking at $35,000 to $42,000 in one or two years from now after we recover from the coming recession. LOL! That is just a wild guess. The lower body rust and the drivers side front dent are obvious negatives. The interior and overall apparent originality is a plus. It looks like you even have a fancy spare tire cover! If the engine runs well, you are golden!
Dear 5150mxVW J. 👍👌👏 With a rust free frame a restoration is much easier to handle. Low mileage is another good thing. The middle seat is worth a small fortune because usually it isn't existing any more and a ton of bus owners want to buy one. A leaky roof is not funny at all. But at least it is kind of easier fixable than all the stuff underneath a car. The first thing I would do (even before trying a first start) would be to repair the dented front. At least so far, that you can put a headlight in. Immediately the bus will look better, even in Jenn's eyes (at least I guess respectively hope so). By the way: What's Josh's opinion about this vehicle? Maybe let him help to put in the left headlight this time because we all remember your hilariously funny trim ring fail on the grey-blue bug. ;-) 😁👅 Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you.
That's lovely and original

I really like the opening. 😁 You were very optimistic and excited in the first part, and then of course. 🥺😁 I would be willing to bet that mileage is accurate just the way you pointed everything out. It honestly doesn’t look that bad to me. I think it would be great made into a camper.
Thanks ! Liveing Life ! Straight Ahead ✌😎

Hi Joe, thank you haha, yes she is thrilled with the QX56 " Orca" and the bus on the trailer blocking the end of the driveway. It's cleaning up nicely ,and the engine is not stuck so that was a huge relief. Mileage seems to be org / accurate although I'm always skeptical without major documentation.
Sad how people have these beautiful cars and vans and just let them sit and rust. Me and my wife love them even my 13 old son wants us to get one now . We were looking for a Bug but had to put on hold just had another son 4 months ago. But we still talk about every time we see one how much fun it would be going out on family rides. My mom and dad used to take us out when we were young dad had couple of MG . They have both passed Mom will be a year in couple of weeks dad when I was 15 . I want my son to have the memories like I do sorry for the long comment. Have a good day and stay safe Jimmy from North Attleboro Massachusetts
Looks like standard Beetle front seat rail clamps that came out the paper bag!! Just like I have on my 64
Jason, you're an animal my friend! Jeez, you drag all the old dubs home in your area! Nice job. On that bus, when you walked in and I saw the license plate state, I said "ugh"... road salt. Then you drug it out to confirm my fears. Living in Arizona and the dry SW, we are so lucky to not have that rot issue from road salt. Look forward to seeing what you do with it!
We bought a 78 a few years ago for $100, same color seemed OK, runs but the Gas has turned to tar and the tank needs to come out. Still it seems worth a hunnert bucks. Roof rust like that one, but nicer on the bottom. That Gas tank seems like fun, I fell in love with them Rides in 1969 when I worked for a VW Dealer as a Parts Runner and got a brand new 1969 blue one.....

Those things in the paper bag were seat clamps. They hold the rear seats to the floor. Check the front beam for rot. It looked like there was some when you showed in the one wheel well. The bus is actually in decent shape. Good find. Bay window prices are getting up there.
Good to see you back Jason. I think the mileage is correct. I will be honest that is much better than some of the wrecks you find.😁 From what I could see a lot of that is surface rust and the chassis looks OK. I hope the engine is fine even with the missing bits. I would just replace the front panel, you may need to get it pulled out a bit so there is no distortion in the body before you drill the spot welds. Great find Jason and thanks for sharing this adventure. 👍 👍

All I can say Jason you got the bug fever. 🤣 I started buying and fixing up old beetles back in the early 80s and sold the last one I owned a 1965 beetle running and driving restored for a couple grand. I put it out beside the road and it sold that day. I did put a lot of time and work into those cars but I never paid more than 400 dollars and most were under 200 for a VW ever. I guess those were the days.😁
