FORGOTTEN Vintage Arctic Cat Pantera Snowmobile - Will It RUN AND RIDE again?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I found an amazing deal on a 1976 Arctic Cat Pantera 5000 snowmobile. This vintage sled has been sitting in a shed and was last licensed in 1999. It appears to be in really good shape. I'm going to attempt to get it running, and immediately put it in the ditch FULL THROTTLE!

I believe this is my old sled! The reason it was last registered in 99 was because I left for the Marine Corps in the winter of 98. I bought the sled with no engine in Pequot Lakes where I lived at the time and it had 800 miles on it. The engine came from my 78 Pantera I rolled. Shortly after getting it running the original odometer quit so that has the one from my 78 in it. I cracked the air box inlets while working on it when it was really cold. Needed to put starting fluid in and got frustrated. I put in the orange slides for the track, 2 rear outside bogies were new in 1996. I put fuel kill switch to keep my brother from riding it. I sold it to a buddies dad around 2010 for a case of beer. I still have the registration card for it somewhere LOL But that sled flies for what it is! Enjoy! So glad to see it out there still ripping up the ditches!

@@jrkbgk1111 I tried to find my old registration card, but so far I can't find it.... I know I have it, but where is the issue. The things he listed are a dead giveaway though. I'm convinced 100% that it's my old sled.... Not looking to obtain it, my back couldn't handle riding it. Those old sleds rode like a hay wagon! Not as bad as the old early 60's Bombardier I started with though LOL Kinda cool to see it's still out there... I loved that thing.... It always started, no matter what!

I remembered my father bought a 1977 Arctic Cat Pentera F/C which the seat and gas tank size differ than your F/A version. And the engine housing differ because of the fan. I rode on it as a kid. I am 57 now. I still remember how it is like, the ride, the look, the sound. Truly a Catillac. I could not believe how pretty good shape this one was and how well stored away. I wish I could bought it! Oh well. Thanks for bringing this sled up and brought memories for me. Sure miss it. If I had the $$, for sure I would buy a collector's Pentera rather than the today's sleds. I am short, and that Pentera was right size for me because the new ones today are too big, too high, too heavy, and too wide for me.

Hi, Derek, that ol' sled looks so good, I knew she'd fire up easy and run like a champ. Brings back memories of when I lived in Northern Michigan. We had Yamaha's, first 440 SS's, then Phaser's.
