Nice to finally see you do a proper non-race build. When you fix the headliner, it would certainly be worth rolling on some butyl sheets to the roof skin.

"Non race"? None of these builds are actual "race" builds. They might sorta resemble "race" because their done cheap and have some "race" seats or look, but are not "race cars". They never get raced, they don't make enough power typically, and things are done fairly cheap and would not withstand actual racing. It's easier to build "race" oriented stuff to a point as they tend to look more unfinished depending. It's more like "ricer race" cars. Try to pass as race cars but it's just cheap looks.

"Race car", rip out a comfortable seat, carpet, sound deadening and heat/AC so the car is as miserable to be in as a race car. Congratulations, your street car is now unbearable to drive for more than 15 minutes!

My 78 Ranchero had a problem with starter heat soak. It was really embarrassing stopping for gas and not being able to start the car again until the starter cooled off. After watching your recommendation for heat shield products, I bought one of their products to cover my starter motor and protect it from, the heat coming off the headers my starting problems are over and the heat shield product work like a charm. I look forward to watching all of your videos and have been doing that for several years. Keep up the good work Craig.

In my 86 F150 I used a spray bottle , Rit Dye , whole bottle mixed up in a gallon jug . Dyed the seat , carpet & the carpet at the bottom of the door panels. I never knew spray paint would work . Great work on yours.

The wood grain dash that has faded from brown to pinkish must be from a 1985 or earlier model. They fixed it in 1986 and they don't fade anymore.

Great make over, I have a red interior extra cab ‘87 F250 Lariat here in Australia, I love the red trim. Also, five years ago I took the seat skins off my triple desert tan ‘88 Fox vert, threw them in the washer, refitted them and recoloured them with a spray can (they were faded, it was a San Jose car) gave them a brush over with a stiff brush when dry to soften back up

Just did my '76 V8 Valiant sedan interior- pulled the windshield & back window, dash, everything. All together, I have $1300 in the whole interior. The car is a malaise-era "Wonder," and it looks stock- it's not, but it's just a cool old girl

Glad you kept the red interior! The seat came out excellent, the fabric might be my favorite of any old vehicle, it's durable and so plush. It looks like the hole you cut by accident was a markout for the older '80-'81 trucks with the slide locks

‘86 is peak Bullnose IMO. By that time, Ford got it right in terms of interior comfort and drivetrains with EFI and 5-speed. The exception being the earlier 351 HO 4V. Salt free CA rig makes it all the better!
