We did contact a couple of the builders and they both were surprised we are bringing it to road worthiness. One of them even said that it’s nothing more than a “TV Prop” 🤷🏽‍♂️

There's a reason why a lot of these former show cars get left for dead...they build em fast and cheap as possible quite often. They look alright on camera and that's the only target a lot of the time. Thanks for saving another forgotten machine. It's great to see ladies getting into auto mechanics. It's definitely NOT just a man's hobby. Cheers!

Just found your channel !! Really liking it!!! That telescopic steering column was a factory option!

My dad was requested to be on this show. He ended up turning it down because the contract required you to pick fights with the other team, as well as sabotage their builds sometimes. He also was requested to work on a few overhaulin' cars and ended up turning that down as well because Chip Foose had contracts to certain companies my dad refused to sell due to low quality. TV shows are all buzz. Also interesting that this sat less than 20 minutes from home for so many years.

As long as they get paid, they don't care. The only custom car shows I'll watch are for paying customers, not some over produced stupid car build "battle".

That really is a pretty paint job on that Corvette and the fact that you actually fixed it and was able to drive it you have to call that a win. Especially when you consider the state of neglect that you got it in. Good job and great work you guys are doing a fantastic job with this one.

It's not like they rebuilt the car as of now.. They threw an old motor in it and wired up a Holley EFI. Idk what makes them legendary legends.. But, that's just me.

Pretty simple put a motor in it and trans get fire 🔥 gas and spark and bam 💥 and air

That reminds me of my 1973 Ford Gran Torino, it could be a pain in the ass sometimes but when it was up and running it was fun as hell to drive!

I ran across your channel while going down that KZread rabbit hole.absolutely loved watching you and your daughter, who by the way is amazing to watch working on cars.she reminds me of my youngest daughter. I’m a technician but none of my kids were ever interested in cars. Your a lucky man to get to spend that time making memories with your daughter. There should be a knob/lever on bottom of steering column you lock the telescopic steering wheel.

Yes, but do to the custom steering wheel they eliminated it. To fix it I installed a 5/16 Allen bolt into the center hole and it tightened right up!👌

straight up would love to get into the same thing you're doing...I'm glad to see such cars from my childhood being rehabilitated.

I owned a 76 Corvette standard equipment telescope steering had an outer ring that would spin and grip stopping the column from moving. The column also came with a tilt feature the combination made for comfortable driving on my cross country trip in 1979.

The telescoping steering was an option on many cars. Whoever made the hacked up steering wheel wasn't smart enough to lock the telescoping part of the colon. It is a small bolt that is in the center of the steering shaft.

It was broken. nothing to do with smarts.

That's a cool car regardless of the problems for the time that was put into it. Really cool history and automotive madness.

Clicked the video cause I love watching restoration videos, but it was also a TV show Corvette. I think I actually watched this episode way back when, I figured it would give you the most trouble wherever it could. TV Custom Car shows are prolly the worst kinda cars to try to bring BACK to life even if they weren't really to life when they were made on the show lol. But love watching y'all working on it. Side note, I was already in love with the car, I might now have a crush on Caroline too haha
