This was a hard movie for me to watch, and yet I could not turn it off. My mother nearly starved us when we were babies and toddlers, me and my brothers. She kept us in one locked room at night while she went husband searching on First Street in Seattle, Washington. She got pregnant several times and finally left us at an orphanage. My dad found me and my brother (the others were not his) 6 months? later and took us to live with him and his new wife who hit me all the time, said and did awful horrible things to me - starting at age four. At six, someone invited me to church and gave me a bible. I accidentally discovered the Proverbs. I read: Come to Me -Wisdom, all you who are simple, and I will make you wise. I was overjoyed in my six year old heart, and thought - That's Me! and I faithfully read the Proverbs all through my hellish life with my step mother and beyond. God answered my prayer and gave me great common sense and wisdom in many areas even before I gave my life to Him. I became a Christian when I was fifteen at church camp, and finally after years of praying to be delivered from that family, he sprung me! There's much more as there is in every family, every person. I bounced in and out of my mother's home and she was a emotional case, her feelings ruled her till the day she died, two years ago. I always knew, because of the Proverbs, that you cannot live life by your feelings. I married at twenty, had my three babies. They are grown now. I was a stable and good wife and mom, until at twenty years of marriage (maybe twenty-five) my husband left us) None of us drank or even smoked. But first he left the Lord. Then me. Now, I have a contented heart living on my own with the Lord, but I have developed in my older age, an arms length from many people and though the Lord has answered scores of my prayers, this one, to be my natural self with many others, to allow them in, still evades me. If you have hung with me this long thank you. I love the Lord, but I would like to be free of what they now call: social anxiety that pops up at unexpected times. I literally don't know what to do about that, but regardless, I am keeping on this journey - in Christ. Always.

Hi Tracy, I was going to comment about this movie & also say it was a hard movie for me to watch too. The woman in this movie had a horrible, horrible childhood. While forgiveness was discussed I thought the movie really pushed the issue. I don’t think people who have endured so much pain & then suddenly have one of their most painful nightmares appear & return in their lives would ever be able to talk about forgiveness that quickly or even consider it when they’re in shock from an abusers abrupt appearance. It’s content for a movie but not really realistic. I’m just not sure that’s possible so quickly when someone’s been through so much trauma. It was probably a Christian concept the writer wanted to present. It was hard for me to watch becuz of that. I’m so sorry to hear about your growing up family situation. In your story you were so innocent, sweet & brave as a child. You seemed to of carried on & created your own family inspite of all your previous hardships. I think that’s good. The Bible is a beautiful book. It sounds like it was helpful to you. I’m glad God got it to you. It’s amazing how he can find & help someone, comfort & give guidance & maybe some peace. I think sometimes I’m a little bit antisocial too. I believe mine was becuz I was shy. When I was younger I had it more, but through continual conversations I believe I became more confident & it went away. Now it’s different. I’m more burn’t out from people, actually really love being alone & don’t mind being antisocial. Now I’m just a little rusty. This too will probably pass. God bless you Tracy. Hi Tracy! Your testimony brought me tears. I know how it feels. 😢 Like wounds that are not cured, I was 5:22 broken many times seeing my past. Until I found myself crying like a child at the feet of a cross, surrendering...delivered from pain and its bondage. I took a giant leap of faith and now I'm free. Only the Lord Jesus truly knows the pain of those who suffered gross injustices without it being there choice. To him alone belongs all power of forgivenesses, healing, restoration and redemption. Many stories, including my own, are not exactly the same, but nonetheless are desperately painful and leave deep deep scars. Again, it is Jesus alone, who bore the greatest scars for each of us. A great movie. Amen

My brother and I both suffered a stepfather , to put it politely , for years until I left home right after turning 16 and two years later , my brother left home at 15 . We both moved 3K miles , back east to live with our father . It was such a toss up on which was worse that a year later my brother went back ! It was no where near as bad as this movie but it really sucks when you’re a kid and don’t feel like there is a safe place . We stayed gone all day even as young kids . I thank God for a kindly older lady that we lived next door to for a few years . I thank God for seeing us through , it wasn’t easy .

@@robertparker1180 Yes, it is a necessity, an absolute requirement to do so, if one wishes to receive the forgiveness of GOD Our Father in Heaven. We know this to be so, because Our Savior made it very clear to us all, back when He still walked amongst us. He makes it possible when we ask Him.

This movie was created for all of the broken Angels out there, showing you know matter how difficult life might be; God always has you. This movie is also a strong inspirational story about forgiveness, you must forgive in order to move on that doesnt mean u forget what happened it means you find peace and in order to do that u must forgive.

I really needed to watch this movie today because I have been wounded many times myself and by my own loved ones. I do understand that I must forgive others in order for me to be forgiven for my sins. I have kicked, screamed and shedded many tears because of the pain of being hurt by people closest to me. I am so grateful today that I am now on the path of being healed by my Heavenly father Jesus Christ!!! All don't forgive or can't!!

My dad acted as a stranger not being involved all my life. I fogive him and pray for him to be ok. May The Lord heal those who have been going through pysical and emtional abuse in Jesus Name. My mother used to hit me for a while back in the years, but she was sick and been repented and became a new creature in Christ. God can heal us through our problems. Anything is possible with The Father. We are in the last days. God is coming soon to bring His people home. Repent of you're sins and get baptized. Be born again by believing and being saved to go to eternal life. Jesus is The Only Way. Have a relationship with Him.

It is painful to watch how abominably this child suffered....but the real story is the miracle of how she grew up to be a balanced loving adult. The reason, of course, is that she found the Lord early enough to heal her; and He also gave her a loving husband. Blessed be God🙏🏽🙌🏽

I am a living testimony that God can use anyone he sees fit, I was abused, abandoned. God has done a wonderful thing in my life.

Very powerful message. It was difficult to watch, but it made me more thankful to our God for so many things we take for granted. Praised be our Lord for His unconditional love. 🙏

The pain of abuse and neglect and a broken childhood is not too much for God! How wonderful that He doesn't put any of us in the "too hard basket" and works with us year after year to redeem the "years that the locust has stolen". What a wonderful LORD and Father!

I can relate to this movie. I was abused and rejected and neglected, too, by both parents. But thank God it stopped when I began 6th grade and the following years were not full of abuse. It's taken me years of being a Christian, to gain some kind of self-awareness, to seek forgiveness for the abuse and the pain that I re-created with my own children. I am thankful for God's forgiveness to me...70 times 7 times...God is forgiving and loving, kind, gracious and mercuful...and so should we be with each other. ❤

When she said," I had to go, I had to love myself more, Because I didn;t want to take anymore punches to prove that I loved him," I burst out crying because That's what I was doing, trying to get the love I needed, and trying to show him I'd die trying to somehow show him I was worth loving, by how much I let him do to me. It just goes to show how sick we become when we're with another sick person, it also shows how important it is to love ourselves, it gives us the strength to leave, but while you are a child you have to stay until you're old enough to realize things and can find a way to leave ( unless you can tell someone who can rescue you out). I didn't remember my fathers abuse until I had my first child, that's how deeply I'd buried my traumatic memories, I kept up ending up with abusive men, I was in my mid fifties before I got healed enough to finally be in a healthy, loving relationship with a man. It is only Gods love that could heal me, no worldly therapy could ever had.

God created therapists for this exact reason. To help us heal. Praying isn’t going to heal trauma. It takes a lot of work. I’ve been in weekly therapy for the last 6 years. I prayed constantly for healing that never came. It doesn’t just go away. We have to go through the steps to get there. It’s a journey.

It is not God's will for me to be hurt anymore . I have PTSD from age 4 yet I still have a genius IQ and intellectual gifts from God and God bless me with my multiple Sclerosis in remission since winter when I prayed for myself for the first time in my life. To God,the Father Son and Holy Spirit and Blessed Mother Mary I said thank you and sorry and asked to walk again and God bless me with the miracle of walking!

A great inspiring story and if really true then this girl Andrea who survived a traumatic childhood to become a strong christian woman sets a truly inspiring example to us all. This story was better than any sermon from a pulpit. Acting was excellent. Thank you for uploading.

Love all the actors in this movie. It was difficult for me to forgive my dad for years… but he became a Christian and I saw a completely different side of him. He still had his problems but before he passed away in 2016 I know daddy is with the lord now.

I saw my father become a completely different person after conversion too!! I was his punching bag child and had to learn the love of a father from the book "I dared to call Him Father" by Mrs Bilquis Sheikh. But I became his favorite when he too became a Christian late in life and when he became senile later, I was the only child he would recognize and his eyes would light up when I entered the room and he would begin to converse with me normally and say Amen at the right places when I prayed with him. It was shocking to all who watched...

Yeah. Happens to guys too. Didnt finish the movie i know it plenty well. Forgiveness is very key. Happened in my life. We got saved but you go through life just thanking God and not questioning, however I did as a kid. You can be pretty whole but still. He gave me harmony! When I was a little girl of age, something bad was done to me, that caused so much damage, as that little girl's heart broke into sadness, by some adult's madness! The abuse gave me many years of agony, until I surrendered my life to the Lord, and found myself in harmony. Finally I understood that He always had loved me, and He had felt the pain I felt ; that made my heart melt. He helped me to forgive the abusers, as His love for me changed my heart for real, and He little by little the wounds would heal. Today, my heart aches for those who have gone through the same, and thought it was some adult's game. Me too I suffered unimaginable abuse by my parents and I took care of them for years anyway. Mommy woke up from a coma two weeks before she died and she finally said she was sorry to me . She became a deacon after decades of atheism and her attempts to sabotage my faith and her munchausen by proxy and her " sorry" was the closest she got to repentance. My father is an unapologetic domestic terrorist and draft dodger and alcoholic narcissist.

Family issues are the hardest to tackle especially when relationships are at stake....... To FORGIVE is much easier to do than to FORGET ....... Come on, let's be honest.... Our minds are not designed to erase memories... It is not a tape recorder which you could play back and forth or totally erase..... It takes time, more time to heal old wounds.... Only then, FORGETTING becomes acceptable. Christian movies are very inspiring, heart-touching, enlightening. God has His ways and means to reach everyone and touch their hearts.

I particularly loved the “ supreme superintendent” scene and the line where Andrea said she didn’t know her mom had a heart. Those made me laugh but it’s good to see real life situations and even better to have reconciliation. After all, that’s the whole point of our journey here on earth- to be reconciled with each other and with Yahweh.

This movie touched me in so many ways.the part where the mom says i feel like a piece of furniture the daughter says back it hurts doesn't it! That was harsh.ive made mistakes as a mother.the kids dad would beat me alot the kids saw that than i became i drug addict and became a person i never thought i be.i hurt my kids i chose drugs over them.but I didn't abandoned my kids when they were little they were teenagers when i got lost.i didn't realize that they still needed me but I was dealing with my own demons and the pain that I dealt with it thru drugs.i can never take back how i hurt them.ive changed my life around and tried to show them that i was sorry but some stull hurt.i never beat them or anything like that.i hurt them by not being there when they needed me the most.this movie is really true on forgiveness.

@@KarisGoogle forgiveness, is about releasing yourself from the pain, and not allowing it to control you any longer in negative ways. Clearing your energy from the effects of the trauma. It’s self releasing. It has nothing to do with the offenders. You don’t have to forget, you won’t, even if you try. You also don’t need to be ok with them or the abuse. You don’t have to love them or understand them. All you have to do is release them, and heal your inner child. That’s WAY easier than trying to force yourself to “forgive “what often is unforgivable. The irony is, once you make forgiveness about you, and heal your inner child… start loving yourself fully… or at least move on the direction, you find yourself unconsciously releasing the offenders, often empathy kicks in. Empathy because they repeated what was done to them. Peace to you on your healing journey. ✨✨✨🧚🏾‍♂️🐝🌈

Unfortunately so. God is able to heal is from any pain though if we trust him. Forgiveness may seem to be crazy to us but it is the way we do find healing and a great thing is God doesn't expect us to be around those who hurt us even when we forgive them.

I have been through the same thing as her and now have a very loving husband for 23 yrs....the only thing I cannot do is forgive my mom for what she has done to me....Sure I still talk to her and cannot say I hate you...but I am 61 now and have learned to live with the pain ..it will never go away....

Forgiveness is never easy. But God can help you do it. Forgiveness is not just for the person your forgiving. It's also for your healing. It's like breaking the chains off that they put on you. I was raped and molested and I had to forgive in order to heal.

This was a movie that effected me. Forgiveness is vital, I'm still working through hardships about my parents and family. I vowed to myself to Not give up on my kids as I was given up on by my own bio parents. I don't understand , I'm doing the best I know how , I turn to Jesus Christ more than I would have thought I would and I'm an elder. I’m sorry about your situation it’s a horrible thing to go through my own cousin rape me my mom gave me away, I don’t know biological dad. I was married to a very abusive man. As teenager I was sent to live with family that physically abusive me. I was able to forgive all who have done me wrong. My way of forgiving others is because I know the day would come when I would need total forgiveness That day came 10/28/17 if I didn’t forgive them, I wouldn’t be forgiven from my many sins I now honor God and living to serve him daily. I live in Peace and love from God He makes live easy to deal with.

That kind of abuse is difficult to overcome. The real challenge is when you forgive with your whole heart and tell your story, the real horns come out. I gave trust when I never should have. As revenge for my truth, they destroyed everything I ever built, including my family. I am estranged from my children and their father. A sad place to be as I am aging and waiting for them to realize that truth. They don’t believe me. You can never trust them no matter how much forgiveness there is. Don’t fall for it. It is the worst thing that has ever happened to me.

I overcame all my abuse, you see this is a movie, I went through real abuse; I went through something that no one should ever have to go through. God healed my mind, heart and soul.

I forgave my parents for an awful childhood, and it was easier because of how much they changed. But recently my mother decided to seek out an old relationship (someone she cheated on my biodad with, and was one of the reasons he denied me), and become a lot like she was before abusive and hurtful so I decided to cut her off for a while I can't be a mother/wife myself and still put up with her.

This Movie was So Inspiring. I Praise The Lord Jesus for giving Andrea the Holy Spirit Boldness to run this race of abuse from her Mum and Dad but she kept her head high though her grades at school was So pour because of her constant neglect. All Glory goes to her Fellowship Ladies Group, if she didn't have this Group Andrea would have Committed suicide. I Praise The Lord Jesus for her Husband Who also stood by her through thick and thin. Though Her Children didn't know what their Mum went through but they still Loved her Unconditionaly. I also Praise The Lord Jesus for bringing Andrea's Mum back to her Daughter's home. Without Love and Forgiveness in our lives we can't move forward in This Christian Parthway. I PRAISE THE LORD JESUS FOR HE ALONE IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED for Bringing this Wonderful Family together in that One Bond Of Love.
