Absolute beginner question, meaning I know almost nothing yet, what's the smallest anvil you could do this kind of smaller pieces work on?

Hey MarkoRollo, the early blacksmiths used stump anvils that were no bigger than a 2 lbs hammer. Obviously the bigger the anvil the better, but you can get a lot done on the small ones too. I can't really give you a "poundage" for the lack of better term. If your anvil is smaller you can increase the weight by putting it on a heavy stand. Many people use a heavy chain to add weight that way. Food luck learning the trade! Tim
