Oh man, I love the profile on this! It definitely makes me want to make one of these! Great job, Matt! I was left wanting at the end though for that cut test. 😉

Thanks Dennis! I would love to see your take on one! I wish I would have done a cut test, time got away from me and I didn't get a chance to add it, but I will be doing a short showcasing it soon. I appreciate you watching!
Amazing build! I love the choice in weapon! Most people don’t know that a khopesh is classified as a battle ax and not a sword. I love this piece! Beautiful chopper!

Great job. I like to see a smithy that can beat in his shape and edge, rather than over reliance on the grinder cutting his shape…🎉

Beautiful piece, love how handle turned out and overall form! Wish we got to see it in action a bit, but it's obvious on sight that melons wouldn't have been any challenge for this.

@@Mysticmountainforge your very welcome my friend. Forge on. God bless.
Lovely work! Do you have any idea why the khopesh fell out of favor in real life and what replaced it?
@Mysticmountainforge
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I appreciate you watching! I'm not really sure why but it is believed it fell out around 1300 bc due to advancements in sheilds and armor.
😇👍
You did a good job. Btw, how much longer longer would this project take you without powertools?
@Mysticmountainforge
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! It would take a lot longer, this build took me around 20-25 hours from beginning to end, If I were to do it over using just hand tools, I would spend more time forging it closer to shape and probably go with a forged finish look to save more time in the long run. I would have probably also considered going with a full tang minus the guard as well, I would think it would take 40 hours or so to do it all by hand. I appreciate you watching!
tidy build

i think your khopesh definitely takes the win here, by far. i looked at all the builds, there just wasnt anything i really liked too much. a lot of fantasy lookin stuff, and a lot of ugly designs. you have my vote for sure!
