Forging a Simple knife from a small piece of scrap
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I take the scrap piece left from the handle of the cleaver build and forge a hidden tang knife. The piece of steel we start with it 1-1/8 inch wide by 1-3/4 inches long and 1/4 of an inch thick. #knifemaking #forging #blacksmithing #forging

I find it amazing that a small cold metal piece can be transformed into a beautiful handmade knife that becomes a useful tool. Keep up the good work. Thank.

I keep small pieces of leaf spring around to practice making smaller knifes, still haven’t perfected my hidden tang knives yet. I appreciate your work and your videos they really help me out.

Nice Properly shaped and proper grind. Very usable and no garish decoration. Smaller than I would prefer, but it says so right up front. 😂 Thanks for the video

It was also good to see someone on yoofloob that doesn't try to pound out steel after it's too cold.
Beautiful work! Very nice to make good use of a small scrap piece through skilled forging.

Thanks! I appreciate you watching! The website was supposed to be taken down, but I guess they haven't done it yet. I am currently not taking any custom orders and am focusing solely on KZread for now, this fall though I plan on putting some pieces up for sale, I will announce it here on KZread when I do.
Great little knife and great skills too! 👌🏻 Out of curiosity how would a knife like that cost?

Hey great work. What kind of tongs would you recommend a beginner knife maker 👍🏼👍🏼
@Mysticmountainforge
9 күн бұрын
Thanks! I would go with a set of wolf jaw tongs and a set of v-bit tongs, Those have been my go to tongs for the past 5 years, and I have forged everything from small hunters to two -handed swords, and have done countless blacksmithing projects as well using them. I appreciate you watching.
