Forging A Knife From Scissors
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Nunzio at Earthwalkers Boots sent me his spent shears and razor blades from their custom leather working to see what could be done. After testing the scissors' steel I decided to forge a canister damascus knife with them. Unfortunately, Earthwalker's custom boot business is going out of business but they still have stock they need to sell. Go check out their site! www.earthwalkers.biz.

Scissor steel is garbage. Trust me, I'm a random KZread commentator.

Looks like the below 3 commenters are garbage, but "I" think the steel is excellent, if the scissors were excellent. BTW--you have made a beautiful and HARD edge excellent knife!
Leather shears are drop-forged from high carbon, cutlery-grade steel. Safe to say it's good for knives and definitely not garbage.

just for kicks ,i found F1150/C55 is a steel for scissors
Still catching up on older videos. This turned out fantastic. The the handle "texture" matched the blade perfectly and loved that green color. All in all, another grand one! 👍
If my friends asked me to forge something out of scissors I'd be cheeky about it and make a larger pair of scissors
I like that the etched effect is different than most others looks cool.
I love how I see a post on Instagram and immediately go to KZread to see how it's been made this is so lovely to watch

Ty, man!
I think using the scissor hole as part of a razor would be a banger idea! Totally totally cool! This knife also turned out really cool! Even though the pattern didnt come out as funky as expected, the knowledge of how it was made TOTALLY makes it a sweet knife! (The scales used are beyond cool too!)
Gorgeous knife. Great work.
I think the scissor handle razor blade sounds super cool, I would love to see a video like that!
Such a cool idea. Really like how this turned out, and that handle is sick
oh my god beautiful! Amazing work. Thanks for sharing your craft!
Beautiful, I like the openness of the pattern.
So cool to see different techniques..great job, THANK YOU!!
That is a gorgeous knife, love the symmetry between the patterns on the blade and the scales. Came out great.

Wow ... beautiful knife!
Looks awesome, scales suit it perfectly.
I am amazed the level of sharpness you achieved from scissors. You also learned from the adventure which is great too.
Awesome another stunning blade!
Nice job! I had no idea that scissor steel would harden like that. It would be great to get a piece tested to see what the alloy actually is.
Somehow your videos stopped popping up into my feed, so now I have like ten to binge through. Hell yeah.

Gorgeous knife and great video! Thanks for sharing this.
Turned out really sweet man I always enjoy watching videos where a canister is used and different materials are tested. Love the handle on that!
Quite the excitement and you never disappoint!
The blade looks quite nice and that handle is just stunning. I absolutely love this knife.. Great job, sir!
Very cool man. Nice work. Love how this one turned out.
Looks dope man! Nice handle choice!
Absolutely awesome knife as usual. This is one of my favorites. Great job as usual.
You did a video a while back of making a knife from numerous cold steel knives, I was thinking it would be interesting to take numerous cheap damascus amazon knives, forge weld them together in a canister, then use that billet as a jacket around a 1095 core. I imagine it would be quite the insane pattern.

The issue is, most of those Pakistani "damascus" knives are made from complete junk metals that are unhardenable. kzread.info/dash/bejne/h5mZp5t9qaybYto.html

That's why I'm saying forge them into a jacket around a core of 1095. That way you have a hard cutting edge of good known steel and a jacket of softer steel on the outside. San mai style!
Another great video and another amazing and beautiful blade thank you very much again
Very motivating! Great knife! Keep on truckin man!
Very nice build.
great work
Looks super sharp and that handle is deadly. 👌
