thanks for the video ;] it looks like you greased the axle and it turns a bit easier thats good but it still isnt retained and moves a lot which is bad bearing block is called for to secure it and help in rotation. there definitely is a need for more water volume so more piping or an actual channel at least 2 x probably 4x the water . the wheel will preform better with larger buckets i would go wider but not as deep for more buckets total .. that will preform better and be less likly to stall .. why didnt you power your bellows with the wheel?

You need to forge a scythe blade and mount it on an appropriate swing handle. That stooping over is going to tell on you as you get older! Besides that, a scythe would allow you keep the height of those plants more manageable through what seems to be a mild winter.

Scythes are great for nice land thats been levelled by generations of farmers working the plot but they kinda suck to try using on sloped land. The sickle he's using also works as a billhook/brushook and is designed for harvesting grains like the rice he grew last time so it's simply a more versatile tool for him in his location.

It is a failure. I can't put it mildly. He has got a flow rate, but not enough power. Yes the buckets should be bigger and morr radially outward. The worst issue is the friction. It is stopping frequently. His best bet was to let it run continuously, instead he is jamming a stick to stop it unnecessarily

If you have any local beans or legumes you should plant them with the corn. They will use the corn stalks as a natural lattice. After this year once the corn is mature you can also plant squash in between the corn furrows. It's a system called the three sisters and it's been around almost as long as agriculture itself.

I’ve been watching your channel for a long time, and have been most impressed by your basketry skills,

I’m half convinced that behind his house is a shed with a lawn mower, and power saw. Hard to believe all the boards used to build the water wheel were sawed from logs using the one saw blade he made by hand. Boggles the mind.
@zemastor3650
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, correct. There is NO WAY that a man, alone, can possibly smelt that much iron to create the tools that he has. He'd need an entire village working 7 x 24 to "obtain" that much metal. Ditto for the boards, in the quantity he needed to build the water wheel. But I'm not saying that he's not legit. He is, to a certain extent. His videos show "proof of concept" and "how it can be done". So, yes, he smelts his first nodules of iron by hand. True. And we saw the amount of work and natural resources it took to get those first small iron bits. Ditto with the boards. He showed us how he had to chop down a tree, prep the wood and sawed it by hand, using handmade tools. TRUE. And once the concept and technique was proven (Yes! it CAN be done!), I have no doubt that he obtains the remainder of his stock (metal, wooden boards) by purchasing them, or using modern tools. Gotta take his videos with a grain of salt. He demonstrates the technique of how pre-industrial societies made these, and then obfuscates how exactly he obtains the remainder of his resources in the large quantity he needs for his projects.
@cubiusblockus3973
3 жыл бұрын
I assume he got alot of the metal from scrap dealers. BUT, if there is an iron ore vein nearby(which i doubt because the local geography points more towards limestone mountains) he could get that much iron ore. It is still a very credible feat with scrap iron... he is one man. As for the wood planks, it is very possible to chop, cut and plane that many planks and lumber in a week if he prepared wood by drying it earlier. The tools he has are well adequate for the task. he has about 8 working hours a day and that isn't including the time needed to cook meals which equates to around 12. times that number by 7, that is a damn lot of man hours. Look at the snippets of film he shows us, they are usually around 30 seconds to 1 minute of time. In those snippets of film, he is chopping, sawing and planing that wood and actually getting alot done in that time. tyimes that number by 60minutes, then times that by 8..... We humans can actually achieve alot in little time with the right tools and materials.
can you please make a pool, so that you can swim whenever you want. Thanks.😉
