PRIMITIVE SKILLS; Harvest bananas - Make Pig Barn Doors and Wooden Feeding Troughs for Pigs

One of the things I want most is to raise pigs. And today everything was prepared to welcome the pigs. Complete the pig barn built of very sturdy stone. The door is made of wooden planks and the pig trough is made of large logs from the forest. I hope that I will find healthy, resistant pigs. And it doesn't get infected like the previous pigs.

Duong, Great work! you work so hard! Some advice if you want to plaster any other stone walls with your mortar: Your new mortar will stick better to damp (not wet, just damp) stone and mortar. I would say to spray it with a hose but you do not have one so maybe flick some water on it to moisten the surface but not to leave water running down it or dripping from it. It will have a easier initial "grab" and will also form a stronger bond than spreading new mortar on dry stone and cured dry mortar. Best of luck!

(26:35) "My workshop is wherever I am". So one has less useless material (and its weight) to carry back. A primitive skill developed very early in humankind's existence that Dương shows here.🤓 (26:35) "Xưởng của tôi ở bất cứ đâu".

Duong, did you know that you can separate clay, sand and gravel using water? If you mix soil in a container of water, the biggest particles will sink the fastest. You can use this to refine clay for pottery, and to refine sand for making glass. The gravel will sink to the bottom. Then the sand will sink next, then the clay will settle last. They will form separate layers. This process can then be repeated to further separate and purify the materials. Using bamboo to make tall narrow containers would work best. Once all the clay and sand have settled on the bottom, you carefully drain the water and let it dry, then carefully split the bamboo so you can separate the layers. This is the best way to get pure clay, or pure sand.

@@OmarAMassa-cq7io yeah, it would be a lot of effort. If he had a larger bucket or contained it would be easier. Mixing a large quantity of soil with water and then pouring it into multiple bamboo tubes would be the most efficient way. The only reason I suggest it is because Duong wants to make glass, which needs quartz sand, but the sand he has from the river contains impurities.

hmmm......I wonder...those nails bend a lot....I wonder if they're still basically soft iron, or at best mild steel....suppose you were to....make a whole bunch of nails, and then add them to a clay vessel, and filled the vessel with powdered charcoal, that manjolo should work for that...sealed the vessel, then put it in a furnace....I wonder if that would caseharden and make the nails harder...but I also wonder....I think you'd want to temper them too. bring them to a specific color/temp and then let them cool slowly. to help bring them back to a more tough state, and not too brittle.

the gravel that you have left after filtering the sand out from it could also be used to help strengthen the dirt paths so they are less likely to be washed away by rain and/or to help make it hard for plants to retake the paths... if you're looking for a task to help make some of the area look nicer then you could use the window frame you removed to build floor tiles out of some mortar... either by using it at a mould to make a bunch and then move them you where you want them or by placing the frame where you want the tiles filling with them mortar and then moving the frame once the motar has hardened... i think this might only be good for building a small flat area for the chicken to feed on... or just making a small sitting area where you make the floor using the frames patern and then putting small bits of gravel in the gaps between the tiles to make it stand out more... but that might take a bit too long for a project if you have other things to do...

Para la proxima tambien podrias hacer los comederos con cemento, asi no guardan tan fácilmente bacterias como la madera, asi como hiciste el desagüe de la porqueriza igual puedes ponerlo en el comedero.

please build an outdoor pen for them as well kind sir... so they can lay in the sun and see things around them. happier pigs make healthier meat. and being locked up in a stone pen for their whole lives is not kind to them even if we eat them...must treat them kindly while they live...okay...?

have you ever considered bees? i live in texas USA, and i find them to be very helpful... even if you dont collect the honey, having them around could help with your crops... also what about fruit trees? mango, citrus, mangosteen, dragonfruit, , jackfruit, persimmon, lychee, all grow very well in your area... you should consider an orchard in that part of your fields you havent had luck growing vegetables... also, did i miss an episode? where did the stack of bricks come from, and what are your plans for them?

He had a little thing in the back of I think the water tank but haven't seen him doing anything with them again since he got attacked twice by mahogany wasp and a some bees that look like yellow jackets he has a Jackfruit tree by the kitchen for the rest no mangoes or the others Dragon fruit Is a cactus right ? 🤔 that be interesting he can plant that and also use as a fence to protect himself now im wondering how long would take to grow and give fruits 😂😂😂 sorry my ADHD ADD Aquarius brain is like this 24 7 😂😂😂❤

@@YvonneBVidal i remember him getting stung badly and his wife having to take over for a few episodes, but i thought those came from wild nests while he was collecting wild fruit.. dragon fruit grows fast. from cutting to first harvest would only take about a year where he lives. his soil is nutrient rich, but not well suited for a lot of the stuff he has tried to grow... the citrus especially he could get 2 or even 3 harvests a year because of the way they fruit and bloom. im just surprised he doesnt do more long term projects...

You should put the pig trough higher so they don’t step in it like the older one it’s probably going too help with disease and you should make a compost bin that should help with your crops
