Forging a broad hewing axe

Ғылым және технология

Join me in the forge as I hand forge a broad hewing axe from raw steel using traditional blacksmithing techniques. Follow along as I shape, grind, and sharpen the blade, and learn about the tools and equipment used in a traditional blacksmith shop. Don't miss this opportunity to witness the ancient art of blacksmithing in action! you can found broad hewing axe on my web page: rovtarforge.com/hand-forged-t...

good job! a forging a proper broadaxe with an off set eye and the having the toe and the heel of the blade slightly arced is a challenging piece to make. fine work!

You do amazing work, young man. I really like your forging machines, they seem to make short work of your pieces. Enjoyed the video, so now I’ll be watching some more of them. Thank you for sharing. Texas

I have a question about your anvil, was the whole thing originally rounded on the top and you machine and a flap on it? Or did you get the anvil like that? Its very unique, i love your shop great hammers, great work

It is basically a french pig anvil that was quite heavily damaged, so I machined a flat surface on it so it is useful. I plan on welding on a new top plate when I get the time. Thanks for the kind words!
