Usually on A heavier blade or weapon they're the one's going home because Doug, David, or J. don't like heavy blades or weapons. As David Baker was doing all those tests he would always question the weight of Steven's weapon

Yeah, I always thought it blowed that they have to give up the weapon they put their heart and soul into for days, especially if they lose.

I love it when there are no losers - they both did exceptionally well, just one did a little more perfect than the other.

@@guitarplayer1495 something they didn’t tell you on the show is that Steven’s job at the time was being a social worker at a homeless shelter and his wife had just had their first child. I had a pretty good idea that the edge nick would sink me and I really wanted Steven to end up with the 10k. It would have been nice to be the champion but I am happy with the way things turned out.

I love the sportsmanship, they both got excited for one another's blades, and its nice to see that.

I know no one ever mentioned how impressive Doug ability to pronounce every single sword name in the whole series like a real cultured man

I love how nicely competitive this show is It's not like other show, where they could tear out each others throats, it's real sportmanship and a really good show.

It's always sad to see the losing guy walk away. Especially if they make an equally good weapon as the winner.

That last hit on Steven’s blade hit the base of the skull. If he aimed right for the center of the neck like he did with Paul’s, that would have been butter 🧈

You can tell the judges wanted to give it to the older guy but they just couldn't find any faults with the other's blade aside from being slightly heavy...since it outdamaged and didn't take any itself I'd call this pretty close to a flawless victory.

I've watched a lot of Forged in Fire and I have to say I couldn't begin to guess how the judges were going to rule this one. In the end it came down to a slight roll in one blade. Closest final round ever!

I Freaking love this show!!! There is one thing that I would request, if anyone could do to improve the show. Give a close up of the Finished blades for a few seconds, that way we can get a better look. I find that a lot of times I have to pause the brief shots in order to get a really good look at these pieces of art! Just a humble request to the gods of the forge!

Watch the actual show. They talk to them about their builds and they tell them what they used to make it out of, handle material etc and how it went. While they do this, the camera shows their blade and handle in detail. These clips on KZread are highly edited to get to the 10 minute mark, and all are a little different depending on what they want to show of the third round.

I don't know if that's a permanent change, but it could be because of the specific weapon. Since it's traditionally a beheading sword, they'd want to see how well they do with that after it's seen some work.

One guy had one microscopical damage on the blade, the other guy had no damage but the weapon was a bit heavier. Very tough call
