Its always great when both contestants know what their doing and produce great work. Even the loser didn't really fail. Those wooden pegs can be sanded down by anyone and it's not a big deal. I have received swords with the same problem and it's not that terrible.

The lack of drama, BS, and just how happy everyone is to be there chopping things up just shows how genuine this show is

14:31 I think then when the winning competitor was genuinely asking if there was nothing they could do for the loser is a perfect example of the amount of sportsmanship in these competitions, no over celebrating or sore losers, it's very professional and good to see

@@armita_md Yeah, I'd do a nailed steel band wrap if I was to try patching that up. that handle was wrecked. Realistically the only good option would be to replace the handle, but can't do that mid competition.

I love the kid that asked if there was nothing they can do for the guy who's nagi broke. Kid has so much respect and heart as well as a fighting spirit wanting the competition to continue in hopes of still winning but not losing by default. Much respect to that man there.

Theo has a truly great spirit. Asking "There's nothing... We can't do nothing?" A very great competitor.

21:25 Richie is a true embodiment of sportsmanship. He was so humble and understanding. He made an amazing weapon and I hope he's still forging blades to this day.

So one thing about that moment at 15:22, because it's very rare that a judge will further comment on a weapon after a winner is called. That guy looked pretty upset that he won that way, but Doug makes that comment about his reinforced handle to tell him that he truly did win the competition fair and square, since paying attention to that handle construction was an integral part of the whole contest. This shows you that the judges are actually really great guys.

I saw one of the episodes where this guy lost in the final just because he didn't pay attention to make a curve on his blade as the judges asked. Disqualified, not even tested.. can't imagine how bad that feel

Well, requirement is requirement.they must be as close as perfection. Anyway the judges did say "for the safety reason". The wood is the one that connect the blade to the hands, make it usable. if it broke, the blade will fall, then how the wielder would use the blade? Thatll be a total mess.

I like that these people literally make things that can kill things and they still have more respect and sportsmanship than most other shows that pit people against one another. Need more people like that in the world.

That woman who wanted a group hug made me feel all toasty inside I like how female contestants stand just as much at a chance at winning this competition as the males do, goes to show how fair the judges are

There's nothing more heartwarming than a southern man being humble

The extreme sharpness of Japanese weapon attracted many towards it , now forged in fire has took it to next level

The saddest thing about this show in my opinion is they don't even get to keep the weapons they made destroyed or not that should still be something you take pride in and want to keep a Memento of

i just love how humble people are in here.. if only the world was filled with such individuals more..

I'm amazed on how much a blade like flexes when they swing it and when hits the items and like you try to flex it right and it won't budge it fascinates me

the third guy with the glasses is humble yet cocky... I LOVE HIM

I like that 2nd smith that did the Naginata. This is when you knew that he's a real men instead of a pompous one. Like, it's a competition. People would wanna win any way they want but instead of being a winner who shows off after taking a cheap win, he's genuinely concerned about the entire process that his damaged blade gets to pass while the other guy's blade was fine except for a split shaft and is there any way they can fix it on the spot to keep on going so he can win fairly. That takes courage to do.

The good sportsmanship between opponents in this show is refreshing.

I love the fact the contestants largely seem to be supportive of each other!
