Thank you for your reaction! This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However, as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world! Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed. You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! If you are a LOL fan, check their Warriors and Legends Never Die! And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us, Unwritten Legend and Despacito too. Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (a classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (an ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (a classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (a musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible. Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. They sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their majestic original song Utopia is a must check. Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia! Enjoy their diversity with their original song White Night too. Forestella released their single KOOL in Kpop style to fulfill their promise of Kpop cover dance for exceeding 990K views of Save our lives m/v. They struggled to choose a Kpop to dance, became to think making their own Kpop song with dance! As crossover works for all genres, Forestella did a great job for their fans. Take a listening to Chosen One, an EPIC OST of the Sword of Aramun. Forestella released fantastic original Snow Globe m/v! Kang HyungHo composed it, and all the Forestella members contributed in arranging it. Another original Chagall's Dream brings back the moment of Forestella Festival in my heart, I feel like in my lucid dream seeing Forestella altogether in the future in advance. All their performances are live except for their original music videos. The group was formed through the Phantom singer season 2 competition aimed at picking a crossover vocal group. Many of their popular covers were done either on the Immortal songs competition or Phantom singer’s competitions. They have done exceptionally well and gained lots of fans. I consider them the Best quartet in the world today, without a doubt!

Forestella definitely are “The Champions”, winners of the 2017 Phantom Singer contest, winners 6 times in a row of the “King of Kings contest”, they have taken South Korea and now the rest of the world by storm. They did a USA tour last year, and I had the privilege to see them live in Atlanta . 2 of them are opera singers, 1 is a musical actor/singer and one is a chemical engineer who always had his own band on the side (the rock singer). Many many more covers and around 10 originals for you to check out. Maybe “Je suis malade” and Hijo de la Luna” next?

@@ReactionsThatRock no, not this year. The guy with the very deep voice, Ko Woorim, had to take a leave from absence to fulfill his mandatory military service (the other 3 had already done it). He will be back in May 2025. In the meantime, the other three still do a few Forestella appearances, and are doing individual concerts, as everyone is pretty awesome in their own right. Thanks for reacting to Forestella. Enjoyable reaction. They are a South Korean crossover male quartet who can sing brilliantly basically anything. My guess is you would like Champions (which is NOT We Are The Champions), Legends Never Die, Shape Of You and Sweet Dreams. Time In A Bottle is also a shocker. However if you're interested they also do beautiful more classical style covers such as Scarborough Fair, Hijo De La Luna, and Sound Of Silence.

I had a REALLY hard time getting this visible. The copyright originally got me a FULL global block. First time ever. Then I had to dispute Forestella's people AND Queen's people to get this public. I'm sure that may have something to do with it.

KBS, the broadcasting network used to be more lenient, but within about the past couple of years they seem to be cracking down. fans of forestella will certainly understand!

The copyright blocks on this were CRAZY and I had to fight to get this up. So far, KZread has only showed this to less than 100 people. I imagine they'll push it out harder sometime tomorrow.

So a mixture here of rock, pop, k-rock,k-pop, pop, folk- rock . Currently temporarily a trio while the youngest, the bass singer Ko Woorim (actually a basso profundo) is serving his mandatory military service til 19th May 2025. So as a trio on 6th January they were guests on a show on KBS (KOREAN BROADCASTING SERVICE) called Immortal Songs: KIM SOO-CHEOL and NEW FRIENDS invited as artists he’d either not met or played with before. He is a 67 yr old legendary guitarist being honoured for his contribution to music in Korea and his efforts towards spreading Korean fusion music to the world and is affectionately known as Little Giant. They preceded their epic version as a trio of Queen’s SHOW MUST GO ON with a rearranged Hijo De La Luna (means Son of the Moon) for 3 voices. ( 90’s Mecano,Spanish original) sung here in Korean. And if you want to go a little different, Inner Universe (Ghost in the Shell…Stand Alone Complex, opening track) sung in RUSSIAN, English and a teensy bit of Latin. Music by Japanese composer Yoko Kanno and Co-written by the late Origa …it’s the theme for an anime. These are all live performances, some are in competition on epic stages. If you want an orchestra with them , you can watch their live performance of Je suis malade ( very beautiful and emotional French song) If you want to digging more into those four amazing singer , I suggest , the covers I love so much : Champions , the fifa anthem ( very powerful) , legends never die ( league of legend theme) , nella fantasia, time in the bottle and my favorite, Angel For their originals songs : snow globe, white night , save our lives ( the mv because the live performance have audio problem) and Utopia They have a lot of covers on KZread , different genre, even MJ songs. They are also huge fans of Queen so in Utopia and snow globe , lot of techniques are related. One of them is also a rocker , his alias is PITTA . He is a phenomenal rocker and a freaking amazing countertenor with no singing training The others are two operating singers and one is a musical actor. In their performances they always ( there are few exceptions) be placedin the same way The left to the right , the bass profundo Ko woorim( operatic singer , the baby of the group ), the counter tenor soprano Kang Hyung ho also name Pitta, the leggero tenor Cho Mingyu ( operatic singer, also the leader) and my soft spot ( love him a lot) The musical actor Bae Doo hoon ( emotional king ) the older of the group . Thank you for covering Forestella! They were individual competitors on a survival elimination show called "Phantom Singer" whose goal was to create a classical crossover vocal quartet like II Divo. They compete 1 v. 1, then the survivors move on to duos, then trios... and finally the Quartet. Mingyu (2nd from the left) won every round and that gave him the chance to recruit the others. They are lightning in a bottle. The show has turned out several great quartets, but none have the widespread appeal of Forestella. Left to right Woorim - Classically trained Basso Profundo Hyungho - Rock Countertenor (zero training until he joined the group) Mingyu - Leader and Classically trained Leggiero Tenor (he and Woorim went to the same school) Doohoon - Musical Theater Actor, Baritenor They continue to enter competitions (these are live competitive performances), put out albums and even toured N. America last year. They intend to keep performing, but they are a man down for a bit as their Bass, Woorim, completes his Mandatory Military service. Outstanding live performances to check out: (COVERS) Bad Romance, Lazenca, Save Us (From the Space Rock Opera), Legends Never Die, Hijo de la Luna, Time in a Bottle, and Despacito. They recently did “The Show Must Go On” as a Trio. (ORIGINALS) Save our Lives, Utopia (serious Queen vibes on this one), Snow Globe (a rock waltz), and Kool (their dip into K-pop). You have found Forestella!! They are amazingly talented, possibly the best quartet I have ever heard. I believe these three performances were for a tv show rather than one of their concerts, hence why it might not be a live band (which they do have for their own concerts). I want to go to one of their concerts so badly but I don’t think they ever tour to Australia. Pleases react to more Forestella! I recommend Scarborough Fair, Sound of Silence, Time in a Bottle, Hijo de la Luna (for a start 😅)

singing competions. they do at times show the band but they do use backing tracks a lot but they are brilliant anyway even in the studio or mucking around on their v lives . check out phantom singer season 2 and immortal songs

They don't have full orchestras because these TV shows, specifically most of them are from immortal Songs, which is a competition show for established singers to perform classics with a twist. If you checked out Bohemian Rhapsody from their own concert video, you would have seen a full band and an orchestra on stage with them. Some of their TV performances include orchestras, like the operatic tenor cho Mingyu's solo performance Balada de la trompeta from Phantom Singer All Stars, they show the live band playing.

I've got more BTS coming. I've had them on hold as I'm TRYING to get to Taylor Mari's guide first... I won't go into the sad details, but it's QUITE hard to sit in one place for 45-60 minutes without getting interrupted. I may have to skip the guide and just jump in as 10-15 minute videos can get made. I've not forgotten and I'll be jumping back in REAL soon!

Have you listened to any of the Super Vocal Competitions in China.? Elvis Wang is the bass in the trio that sang what is one of the most beautiful renditions of "The Sound of Silence" that I have ever heard.
