Non esiste un cosiddetto "frontman" al FORESTELLA Ufficialmente, Cho Mingyu (tenore) 2° a destra è il "leader". FORESTELLA è stato creato come parte di un concorso dai membri stessi. Cho Mingyu ha selezionato altri concorrenti che meglio si adattavano a lui vocalmente e li ha motivati ​​a formare il gruppo. È praticamente "padre fondatore". Forestella was formed on the Korean TV show "The Phantom Singer 2", where they won first place. They've been covering songs and writing original music since. Some facts about the members of Forestella: Each member have very unique backgrounds, and they explain a lot about the qualities of their voices and their styles of singing. On the left we have Ko WooRim. He is a classically trained operatic bass singer. He's the youngest out of the group, at age 28. Second from the left we have Kang HyunHo, aged 35. He is not classically trained! He was a chemical engineer, and was in a rock band with the stage name "Pitta". He is a counter tenor voice part, and has an incredibly wide range. Second from the right we have Cho Mingyu, aged 34 years. He is the leader of the group. He's a classically trained operatic tenor. All the way on the right we have Bae DooHoon, age 37. He has a background in musical theater, which is likely why his interpretation and acting of this song was so emotionally moving. I really enjoyed your interpretation. It was very insightful and provided an interesting perspective on Forestella's interpretation of "Je Suis Malade". I agree with your thoughts on Bae DooHoon's acting and emotional interpretation - it was incredibly moving, and was so raw and powerful of a performance. In my opinion, however, the climax of the song with the counterpoint was very well done, and I loved the overlapping voices. I saw this voicing as a way to express and emotional climax. I think this passage expresses a lot of frustration, pain, sorrow, and utter misery. There is so much going on in this section of the song, and I think the overlapping voices really help convey the agony that is written in the lyrics. The four voices being brought together really add to the pain that is portrayed in this climactic passage. I also think the slight growl in Kang HyungHo's voice just adds more depth to the song. Overall, I think the counterpoint in this passage adds a lot to the emotional climax of the song, although I can see why you'd think it's too much. Thank you for this amazing video!

(E Serge Lama l'ha elogiata in modo specifico per questa versione.) Se considero che questo è "crossover" e vedo questa interpretazione nel contesto in cui ci sono 4 persone che soffrono qui, sono molto d'accordo con l'"esplosione emotiva". Per me c'è un passaggio da una performance più "chanson" a una più "classica". Per me, le armonie intrecciate (che sono il loro marchio di fabbrica) tendono verso "aria d'opera" e sono drammaturgicamente giustificate. 4 innamorati abbandonati esprimono le loro ferite emotive ed è davvero facile immedesimarsi in queste emozioni così diverse. 4 volte il dolore concentrato, può anche avere un finale corrispondentemente più forte, per me ha senso.

C'est juste que lui (Bae Doohoon) fait tellement bien passer les émotions qu'il s'imposait forcément dans les parties principales de cette chanson (il est acteur, à la base). Ils sont tellement bons qu'ils savent "qui est le meilleur où". Le leader, si leader il y a, ce serait plutôt le troisième en partant de la gauche (à 16.49), Cho Mingyu. Mais je pense qu'ils sont tous "à égalité". Ko Woorim est la basse, et celui qui monte si haut (et fait tout seul le duo "le fantôme de l'opéra) s'appelle Kang Hyunho ou Hyungho (surnom : PITTA). “Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …). When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours. The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad. But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s. At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during is own Paris concert in January 1995. It was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone. Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on. I’d like to recommend you a new crossover group from South Korea I discovered recently. It’s called “Forténa” with combination of four tenors(I’ve heard it’s the first crossover group with four tenors). When I heard their cover song “Neapolis” I had a goosebumps everywhere. This stage was in fact for all star competitons among all the Phantom Singer program winners through season 1, 2 and 3 (Forestella was the winner team of Phantom Singer season 2). Because of the other teams Lapoem etc. who composed of only classically trained members, Forestella seemed to select the emotional approach.

@@jacks_reactionI agree with Paul’s assessment …Giacomo you have heard Forestella enough times now to know they never step on each others toes, so to speak, so in this case the climactic singing is used purposely as a means to emote, to convey the overwhelming despair and I think it is extremely effective in this final part of the song. This is not meant to be a polite, gentle or pretty song…everything is splintering and falling apart at this point of the song as emotions are being expressed in a very raw manner and I feel they did absolute justice to interpreting Lama’s lyrics in this way.. the sound Forestella creates when they do this is so heartrending and uncomfortable but also beautifully sad just like Lama’s telling of his heartbreak and love lost. Thank you for a really great reaction to this masterpiece even though we don’t agree on one thing.😊😅 I always look forward with expectation when you do Forestella reactions.

Oh well said…I agree with you one hundred percent. That sonic wave as you so eloquently described it, really matches the climax of this song and the raw emoting that the rest of the song was building up to.

Je confirme que leur prononciation du français est assez remarquable. C'est assez étonnant, alors que je ne parle pas italien, j'ai à peu près tout compris de la réaction de Jack (comme quoi, lorsque l'italien n'est pas parlé trop vite, il reste assez compréhensible pour les francophones). Je trouve aussi qu'il y a un petit décalage entre les parties chantées en solo, très "narratives", qui dégagent une forte émotion très "intimiste" et les parties chorales où les harmonisations donnent un côté un peu opératique qui dégage un autre type d'émotion, plus "grandiloquente". Mais les deux types de parties sont très beaux et le résultat d'ensemble est très spectaculaire.

Bonjour, je suis plutôt d'accord avec cette analyse : les contrepoints et harmonisations un peu complexes affaiblissent le message pour un francophone. L'accordéon est un peu cliché mais sans doute indispensable en Asie pour une chanson française.. Les chanteurs sont bien sûr tous excellents mais la basse a le meilleur accent français, peut être aussi le ténor. Les autres sont difficilement compréhensibles même si ce n'est pas le plus important.. Cela demeure agréable à écouter, un peu exotique mais intéressant..

No il leader è quello vicino a lui

Ciao Giacomo. Per quello che ho capito io, dopo essermi "sparata" un sacco di loro video, anche riguardo la loro formazione, io ho inteso che il leader della band dovrebbe essere il puro tenore, il più "anziano" del gruppo che 2 giorni fa ha compiuto 33 anni. Il più versatile è un attore,nonché interprete di diversi musical (e si vede benissimo sul palco), insomma è del mestiere. Il sopranista lavorava in una ditta chimica, e il basso invece (anche per quanto mi riguarda il mio preferito), è il più giovane del gruppo, sui 25 anni circa, un po' la mascotte del gruppo. Lui, Woorim, ha "lasciato" momentaneamente il gruppo per prestare servizio militare proprio il 20 novembre, che in Corea del Sud è previsto per la durata di 18 mesi. Sono pienamente d'accordo con te.. Voci buone ma per quanto riguarda la interpretazione nulla a che vedere con Lara. L'intimità, la vulnerabilità, la passione e come vive la canzone Lara sono un altro pianeta. Questa è una canzone il cui testo ti prende dentro sia nella versione di serge lama e soprattutto in quella di Lara. Le troppe armonizzazioni stonano. Lara in questa canzone usa molti soffiato e crescendo decrescendo, e da colore e peso ad ogni parola. Giacomo perché non fai più recensioni su Lara?? Ci sono tantissime altre canzoni che dovresti ascoltare. Ma per te che sei molto attento alla tecnica e alla interpretazione te ne consiglio due in particolare dove Lara mette in mostra due delle sue qualità più fantastiche: (ne ha tante si lo so😊) i suoi pazzeschi cambi di registro quasi impercettibili e il modo in cui usa e muove le labbra per dare la risonanza che vuole.
