Forest River Plain Air

There are places where everything looks beautiful. Not in the sense of “pretty”, cute, etc., but brutal, natural, natural. In the vicinity of our village in Bulgaria, there are several such places where I have been more than once, I always wanted to do plein air in them, but somehow it didn’t work out: I went there with friends, or it was winter, or something else.
One such place is a mountain river that flows from the Balkan Mountains and flows out onto the plain, forming a floodplain full of stones. It is crossed by an ancient Roman stone bridge. It is, of course, no longer in use; it is simply a historical monument. There is also an old metal railway bridge. Very interesting views, but this time they did not attract attention. This time we purposefully loaded ourselves with materials and tools for painting and went to the river.
After an hour of walking in the heat, I wanted shade and coolness. And here, finally, is such a place. The river gurgles loudly on the rocks, the water is cloudy after the recent rains. Huge willows provide shade. I really wanted to put all this into the picture. Therefore, the colors are close, shaded. Stones, stones, stones - large and small and green moss. Here is the main coloring of this composition.
