I went on numerous trekking trips inside Periyar. It was exciting and fun. It's such a beautiful park. Loved the enthusiastic guides. Loved the food. Came across elephants, Bison, chital, sambhar deer, snakes plus hornbills. Good trekking shoes are a must. And one must go with the attitude to enjoy nature. It's not a guarantee that wildlife will be sighted. Herd of bison gets spooked easily. I highly recommend this experience.
