    This video is exactly what I do expect. Forehand clear is one of the most basic technique but mastering it takes years. Some beginners aren't patient enough to practice this skill, leading to the very slow progression. Aside from the placement, the height of clear shot is so important. Greg and Jenny, hope you can produce another video to instruct us the detailed technique of punch clear that lots of WS/XD players use and how to sharpen/simplify our clear technique. Thank you so much

    I know some people who have been playing for 10 years & still use the panhandle grip to hit clears. It is so fun to punch clear to them. 🤣 Some beginners are also hindered by having purchased a racket that is not suitable for them. Racket is for advanced level players. This is even more evident when the beginner is not taking lessons.

    Finally able to play badminton again after a few years and just happened to come across this channel. The videos really are thorough, informative and very well made. Learning from two professional players makes the experience even better. One of the aspects I enjoy the most is that you guys perform the drills left and right handed which majority of other tutorials do not offer. Can’t wait to see the next vid ❤️.

    It's also known as FAST CLEAR.( Not easy to do unless u have Mastered the other two clears n can do each on Command!). [ Fast clear will depend on ur Striking sweet spot; slightly above the Smash sweet spot n delaying/ holding back the wrist break![ All while keeping all other movement forward] * if u need to comment, please Do.

    Hi guys, this is again an awesome tutorial, perfectly timed, as I've always struggled with my clears reaching the back of the court. I always thought it was my racket, but that's a classic example of a workman blaming his tools 🤦🏻‍♂️, it's my technique that was wrong. I need to practice and perfect my clears as I have legaue matches coming up soon, which I need to prepare for 😱. Thanks again as always 👍

    Great video. Your point about how badminton is perceived is well made - ask people about tennis and they'll think of the singles finals at Wimbledon, mention badminton and they'll think of that picture at 1:03. Oh, and a hint if you're practising throwing tennis balls - when you switch to your racquet don't let go, squeeze it! 🙂

    its amazing how important timing is the other day i went to new badminton courts with different shuttles. And my timing was messed up and in the 1st few minutes my clear only went halfway, but within a few minutes of warm up i was able to clear the shuttle to the back with no problem p.s this may just be me but ans completely false, but i felt timing has a big part into the distance of the shuttle but maybe it becasue my racket can only generate power when i hit the sweet spot of the racket.

    How would you guys go about coaching a complete beginner, aged 9/10 to becoming proficient player. Is there a template or plan you would follow? eg Start building competence in the front court, drop retreivals and net play and then start building competence deeper in the court - Midcourt, finally focusing on the rear-court. Maybe you can do a video on how you would take this on.

    Great video. Technique is important. Friends tried to convince me to stop hitting punch clears. I was winning points. They only hit normal & high clears. They tried to convince me not to smash at their flat/high clears. So opponent may dictate what shots I play? 🤣 "Stop breaking the shuttles?" "Stop lifting & clearing to me!" 😁

    Hi Greg and Jenny, thank for all your badminton tips and tutorial. Ive been following your journey for a while and enjoy your video so much. Anw I would like to ask Greg, you’ve been using Victor Thruster F for a while, I was wondering are you using 3U or 4U version of the racket?

    Hello Greg & Jenny, may I ask if you use any finger power in this kind of stroke? If yes, how do you do it? Is it in the index finger?

  • @jamesquah6969
    @jamesquah6969 Жыл бұрын

    question: how do you use the index finger when the shuttle comes in contact with the racket? (is it similar to backhand where u use the index finger to push the racket forward like how the thumb is used for backhand)

    You talk about leading with the elbow in this video, i would like to see what it looks like if you don't. I don't think i do and i generate reasonable power but clearly not optimum? Is this a key area and how do i build this in if i have a habit of not doing it ? Actually at 3:15 you do!

    Whats better timing than when i was struggling with clears, just this saturday, then sunday, greg and jenny gave us this vid!!! How delightful TTVTT I am conflicted tbh, cuz my badminton coach, tells me not to use the scissor kick footwork in my forehand clears. And then, his former student, taught me to use it :))) I use the china jump now, but perhaps poorly cuz my clears r too short :"((
