I drove the and hand cranked the b to start her. Farming vegs for a farmer in my early teen yrs. Big pay to $.75 cents an hr. Or picking tomatoes at a $.25 a basket. In a good week I made $25- $30 bucks.

These machines are really reliable. It's hard to understand how bad service these machines got,but still they do they work..I have found Lot of strange things in these machines. LOT of leafs in motoroil, oilpan was fixed with nails and pieces of rope and typical mistake is losted oilfilter spring..no filtering at all.. Its like opening easternegg when you open old machines valvecover😆

Probably though that if it clogged their gut up the tin can may have the opposite effect on the fuel system. Wonder how many times they cut themselves never seen it heard that before have heard of someone thinking you cleaned them like the old oil bath air filters and then packing it with wire wool thankfully got noticed though

@@LordMuck Yea I know leather was used in some old machinery as a seal and soaked in oil it provided lubrication between surfaces. Oh that fuel filter, that made me laugh so hard 😂 hilarious. Seen some dodgy repairs on tractors, but that one takes the biscuit😂👍.
Put that can lid in a small frame before you hang it on the wall - and make sure you note "Where it came from".
By far the best at describing something
Didn't you know Heinz also makes fuel filter parts? Cracking vid your Lordship, Duncan's getting a great tractor. Look forward to the new vid's, all the best!
Wow.havent seen a pneumatic governor Simms in a long time. Thanks for the video
Nice job on the Fordson. 👍I will keep 👀
Class video much enjoyed Lord Muck 👌👌
Superb find 👍made me chuckle
I do enjoy watching your blogs and will have a go at the compation I like tractor s with front wheel assist or for wheel drive I like tractor s from the 6os Jeremy
We'll I've heard of make do and mend but that filter is taking it to the extreme, maybe there's a best before date on lid give you some idea of last filter change lol. There are some crazy people out there ,the old girl looks and sounds great, good job well done.
Years ago, my mate bought a mk1 Polo that had biscuit tin pop riveted in the bulkhead.
Lovely video on the Fordson , great little tractor . You should frame the tin can engineering 🛠️🚜👍
Damn nice tractor , and a great one for a winner of a draw. I havent been on a tractor in about fifty years. We had JD tractors a big b from around 1940 an an m from about 1954. I drove the and hand cranked the b to start her. Farming vegs for a farmer in my early teen yrs. Big pay to $.75 cents an hr. Or picking tomatoes at a $.25 a basket. In a good week I made $25- $30 bucks.
I have seen some crazy shit but that fuel filter was good, there was a guy who cut up beer cans to shim up the slipper bearings on a D2 .
Rarely do you encounter a speechless moment, it took a lunchmeat can or rather a part thereof 🚜💂🔧🙈👀
Where’s that 2720? Had the chance of buying a 2645 a few weeks ago, lost out to someone else by a grand, wish I had bigger testicles that day!

Cheers Kev, I'm pleased with the old girl.
You were lucky it was only the lid, could have been the whole can stuffed with rag as a filter, great stuff, keep it up.
You don’t need to worry about that homemade fuel filter 😂 That’s is awesome
That’s a decent give away, be a good craic 👌🏻
"How dare you" oh man that made me laugh out loud. Good to see you're still mucking about.
Standard old school farm spec that filter repair, probably has brillo pads wedged in the air cleaner too.
What a great old tractor They don’t make them with so much character now.
Fantastic video mucka still laughing
New lord muck video - exciting. Win a tractor - exciting. To skint for Tee-shirt - the complete opposite of exciting. Lol. Thanks for your hard work making these. Be well and stay safe. You dropped of my notifications again. Thanks youtube algorithm......

@@LordMuck I had that set to all. It maybe a picnic situation. Problem in chair not in computer.
Good way to recycle Mucker Imao First tractor I drove major, super major and the dexter love em
Good one as always dude.
Awesome delivery
Cracking day at the office! And you get some new wall art for free.
I discovered this channel over Christmas 2022 and am going through the Lord Muck back catalogue and I have to say this is the funniest one I've seen 😅. Tinned luncheon meat with potatos and veg, grim and grimmer still if it inspires you to make a fuel filter out of the tin...
A true farmer fix!
Great video mucker
Fookin 'ell a bloomin tinnie lid. I'm impressed and I learned a new trick.
That steering doesn't look like it has much room if that tractor had a loader on it. My old major with loader tends to point the wheels in opposite directions. Need to pull her out of the nettles and get it running again and sort the diesel leaking in to the oil.
Well Mucker I’ve seen it all now!! An old meat can lid has made my evening!! Old Ford son runs loads better now all that waters not in the shitty filter, quality thanks. Fenland Rob
Probably though that if it clogged their gut up the tin can may have the opposite effect on the fuel system. Wonder how many times they cut themselves never seen it heard that before have heard of someone thinking you cleaned them like the old oil bath air filters and then packing it with wire wool thankfully got noticed though
Hey that filter repair bodge made me smile. It is amazing what some people will do. The worst thing I ever saw was a big end repaired with the tongue off a leather boot? Good video mucker, always get me laughing. That old Major sounds good .

To be fair the boot tongue repair isn't as strange as it would first seem.

@@LordMuck Yea I know leather was used in some old machinery as a seal and soaked in oil it provided lubrication between surfaces. I also remember repairing the straw walkers in an old combined harvester and they used ash wood blocks for the bearings. And that was how that was how it was made from new.

The old Claas Dominator 105 had wooden straw walker blocks that were soaked in an oil.
Nice one! I fancy a tin of luncheon meat for my supper! 😆
Great vid haven't stopped laughing at the spam fix ,fordson sounding sweet as nut 😃
That was a cool video mate . I do love a can of cold meet but not in a tractor I got my filters for my international 574 form my location motor pasts shop and Thay cost me £3.00 for 2 filter. 🐾🐕🐶🚜👍👌🏻🤔😎
Calamity Kim got herself on the thumbnail, a well deserved bit of recognition👀🆗🆒💁
the guy must of worked for doorman parts place. takes all kinds. great vid mate.
Next time I do a service I will pop down to tescos to get some cans !
Pissa that filter mucker did you find luncheon. Meat spuds n spaff in the lift pump lol had me chuckling like a right good un great vid agen mate
And just to put you all off entering the competition, if the 165 is finished, I might take that along too. Or maybe something else red. Who knows?
@LordMuck

Yes that would be good. The 165 should be done by then.
Lucky lad, well done.
The fact that someone ate that stuff is far worse than the filter bodge 🤣
Class people never cease to amaze 🙈🤣🤣
Good old Fordson. That fuel filter was probably an early design flux capacitor ! I know of someone (who shall remain annonymous ) who use several baked bean cans to make replacement shell bearings on a JD4240S. That didn't go to plan either !!!!
Quality fuel filter straight out the factory
Great video. Thanks.👍
Goes to show how good the old Fordson Major engines are!..... no matter how they are treated ("maintained").
I thought the bodge was going to be a baked bean can. I've just found your channel - great videos!

Those Fray Bentos tinned pie tops make wicked Frisbees too... Nice to see Greta got an outing 😁
