NICE VIDEO.....I DID MY DASH LIGHTS WHEN YOU POSTED YOUR ORIGINAL VIDEO.....AND I DISCOVERED THAT THE WARNING LIGHTS WOULD LOOK LIKE THEY WERE ON AT NIGHT WHEN THEY WERE ACTUALLY OFF.....(I WENT BACK IN AND REMOVED THEM).....IT IS GREAT THAT YOU MENTIONED THAT ISSUE IN THIS VIDEO.....I DID LEAVE THE L.E.D. BULBS IN MY TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS SINCE THEY ONLY COME ON WHEN IN USE.....ALSO.....I DISCOVERED THAT THE L.E.D. BULBS THAT I USED.....FIT THE 194 AND THE #37 SOCKETS.....SO I ONLY HAD TO BUY ONE TYPE OF L.E.D. BULBS.....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.....

Sir, I am the original owner of a 2000 f250 7.3, 4x4, zf6. 240,000 miles. The rpm backlight went out recently, and i remembered your video from a few years ago. Then this one popped up, i subscribe to your channel. Will be doing this this afternoon. Live in Washington and drive in the dark to and from work most of the time. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Joe.. you are spot on with the LED conversion. I tried changing all of the lights and fought the ghosting issue. I then installed all new incandescent bulbs for the indicators and used white LED’s for the illumination…. Best combination for sure! Really appreciate your videos…look forward to more content on this Powerstroke.

Great tutorial! I did this on my Ranger using Lasfit LED’s, I didn’t replace the indicator ones with them though. Just replaced them with incandescent bulbs like they originally had.

Been watching you for a while, glad you're back to the 7.3 platform. I need to do this to the lights in my excursion, but still putting it off :-) *** There is a sequence to remove the headlight assembly from the front. I thought it was Bull. Even my Chinese Amazon replacement switch did it. Turn the headlights on, pull dial out slightly and pry it off. Flip it upside down then put back on, twist to release whole assembly from front.

Happy to see you back in another 7.3! i have 1/2 of my dash lights and heater control lights out, was going to tackle this project this very weekend, so happy to see this pop up in my YT queue! I followed your previous build and while I didn't do everything you did, it was helpful to see your techniques and processes. Glad to see you back, yes, 2x I said it, anxious to see what you have planned. I have a 2003 F250 CC 4wd, I added lighted vanities visors, Gentex rearview mirror with HomeLink and auto dimmer, and a power sliding rear window (not an option for 2003). Keep the videos coming!

I did mine a couple years ago. But I didn't think to do that center part. I guess I have to tear it apart again. But it is a huge upgrade to do this. There is actual color now to the whole dash. Unrelated but nice to do is swap out the center seat/armrest. It was splitting apart. Found a solid plastic replacement part on EBay. Much better.

@@LivingOnWheels I found 3 different 7.3s all 1999 to 2001 under 10k but defiantly need some tlc,#1- the 1999 is 9k 195k mi, says the truck runs great and has some rocker rust ,goose neck and a flat bed and I do have a truck he wants as a trade, #2- says free so not sure what wrong with it but has 302k mi but really don't want to trade my truck if something is really wrong with it and breaks down and have no mode of transportation to work but it is what I'm looking for as the body and 4wd, #3-2001 dually 4*4 for $5500 says it shifts firm but no slips with 265k mi, says it rusty but trusty. 2 are in my state and 1 is in Illinois, travel to get is is no biggie. with what is pit in here to read, this sounds better, I can work on these and upgrade them in time as well. My check engine light bulb is burned out. I am doing the LED upgrade as you did in this video. For the Check Engine bulb should I install an LED bulb? Is it ok to replace this one with LED and leave the rest or do you have to keep all of these with the same style bulb?? I watched a video a while back and I think someone said to keep all the same style or could be a problem...??? Good video, thanks. You repeated video from the 4:08-4:20 mark by the way.

I would recommend keeping all the indicator bulbs as halogen and just using LEDs in the illumination slots. You can try swapping it but it might run the risk a being slightly illuminated with the other bulbs. I can’t say for sure. Maybe take the #37 bulb from that one illumination spot and replace your check engine light with it. And thank you I must’ve missed that in editing.
