Just so everyone knows, this video also applies to Ford Rangers, 2019 and up. I moved mine further than it wanted to travel in the ball socket, in my 2022 Ranger Lariat, while installing a new dash cam, and the mirror came off the mount and hung by the wiring for the autodim sensor. It looked like it should go back on by twisting, but your very helpful video confirmed that for me. Thank you.

Thanks for showing that …I was wondering how to take the casing off but really wanted to see how the wires were connected to the rearview camera assembly. But this gets me to my first step so thanks so much

Thank you for the great advice regarding the rear view mirror mine has just fallen off on a 2022 Ford focus when I telephoned Ford only thing they advised me to do is book it to service and unfortunately that doesn’t come under warranty.

Hello, Tim great video I need to add rear windows to my cargo van, how you did yours?

I was thinking of trying to get a mirror with a second reverse camera. I want to have one higher up. My van is too high to fit under carports etc and the Lowe camera doesn’t pick up anything at around roof level. I’m so paranoid that I’m going to dent or damage the top of my new van that it takes me ages to reverse in residential and low areas. My rather safe than sorry approach doesn’t seem very practical and I feel like it’s only a matter of time before I do something stupid and hate myself for it. I know this is not something you’ve done but if you have any brands or advice on what’s the best or comparable I would appreciate the feedback. Thank you.

thanks for this. My rear mirror fell off yesaterday morning when I was packing up from camping. I use a few window insulators when car camping in the winter. (was good through that severe freeze that came through for Xmass) And it came off when taking the insulator off the windshield. It's hanging on by zip ties now but that is not gonna pass a safety inspection!

Thank you for posting this! I'm still having trouble getting mine on, though. I think I'm aligning the angle correctly on the hex, but when I push in and tur clockwise, it just slides of making this clicking noise every time. I've tried making the motion many dozen times getting the same result. any tips? should i be turning it more from the mount/hex, or from the mirror itself?

I’d recommend turning it via the mounting portion (arm) itself, rather than the mirror. Did you double check that the hex on mirror side is in good shape and will fit securely over the windshield side? If so, just make sure you plane of rotation is parallel to the windshield. I hope that helps!

What is the part number for the piece that glues to the windshield? We have one that was turned into a police vehicle with bullet proof glass and we are missing that piece.
