I did my turn signal switch last year. I have a 68 Ranchero , used a 69 Mustang switch assembly. Had to reuse my connector, just took pictures of the wire order and placed back the same way. Works great!

I tried all day to tape the wires to go down the column of my 77 F150. Finally gave up and dropped them in pairs and they went right down! I came back to your video when having trouble getting the red insert into the connector. I found in the video that I had put the wires in the wrong side. Lots of things to go wrong. Thanks for the help.

My '77 F250 does not have the plastic accordion collapsible part. This week changing my rag joint I realized my column is just one length, non-tilt, floor shift trans. -- is this why steering wheels are concaved and not flat anymore?

Great video. My column was loose to the point the turn signals were acting up in my 68 falcon. I tore it apart last night and found that those goofy bolts were not done correctly. I fixed it but then the clips for the bearing are too high and does not sit properly. Is there a way to push the steering shaft in more or bring the whole unit up?

Yes the entire column itself can be moved up By undoing the column mount bolts And pulling the column toward the steering wheel. While performing the modification, you'll wanna put a spacer between the column and the steering wheel to maintain correct distance as well.

My '73 Mach 1 has steering shaft play in the column. I assume it needs a new bearing, which you just mentioned was probably not available. Any idea what size they are, maybe to find one that would fit from another application? And btw, will you be doing a video on how to take the factory steering wheel apart and off? Thanks!

I'd try Auto Krafters and see if they offer that bearing, they just might. Those columns are pretty standard for that year. so almost any Ford passenger car built in the US would have it.

I rebuilt the steering column in my 69 f 250 and had it all together except the nut that holds the steering wheel on. Found out you don't use an impact driver to putting nut on because it goes past the end and ruins it.

does your 69 f250 work very similar to the steering column in this video? I bought a b&m ratchet shifter and I am contemplating on using it something broke behind the shift collar I do have a new one I was hoping in this video that he would have removed the shift collar so I can see what could have broke. when I bought the truck the part where you stick the gear shift handle in it's an automatic was broken so the guy would just stick the gear shift in it and then shift the gears and then pull it out so what I did is I just got a pipe a half inch galvanized pipe and I was able to screw it in and it worked for about a year although there was no lockout you can put it in any gear just by pushing the gear selector and it was really difficult to put it in park but now the whole shift collar just rattles around it will still shift into gear but you have to hold the shift collar because it's so unstable it's just like rattling around on the steering column so whatever is keeping the shift collar in place obviously broke and I've never rebuilt a steering column before I have a 69 Ford f250 but when I went to buy the Grant steering wheel they sent me the 69 steering wheel kit and it didn't fit so the guy told me you have a 1970 steering column on your truck I don't know what the difference is between 69 and 70 are can you help me out and letting me know what's attached to that shift collar and to do these repairs do you have to take the steering column out to do it or can you do them on the truck.

Hello, I recently purchased a 64 Comet Caliente. They neck and lever were broken. But I was wondering what caused it and now I have removed it and it seems its stuck in park. Can anyone guide me into how can I move it manually or where i should start? Thank you!

Any ideas on converting to a tilt column? My column in my '68 fairlane is pretty much worn out and would love to change it to a tilt column...I know flaming river and ididit are out there. Probably have to use a universal one

I've looked at doing a '67 Thunderbird Tilt-away (same style as the '67 Mustang but with the column shifter. But it wouldn't be a collapsible. Other than that option (or a Mustang tilt away) you are best served with an Ididit.
