    Have a look at the XLT which is the entry level for the V6. Add the touring pack $900 & the drive away price is @ $71K. Still not cheap. I’ve ordered the V6 Sports which is $2.5K extra. If you have an ABN you can get $2.6K discount 👍

    I've got an x-terrain on order for 63 drive away too. Seriously gave switching to the XLT V6 consideration, but if you add $3k on top of the $71k for a lockable lid or roller cover it's a full $10k more. Can't justify that much extra for a model 3 grades down from top of the range!

    Silly really comparing prices because the new Ranger has so many things the Dmax or the Hilux hasn't. V6 Engine, 10-12" Screen, 10 Speed Auto, Full Time 4WD, wireless charging, the list goes on and on. Better Safety features too. NVH Levels in the Ranger will be far superior to the 4 cylinder utes too. The only area where the Hilux and Dmax will win in my opinion is reliability. Re-Sale value for all these utes will be great. But the best driving ute on the road ATM is the VW Amarok until someone does a driving only comparison.

    Dean I would even question the statement around reliability. Brand perception and marketing for both Toyota and Isuzu have been drilling “reliability” into us for years. Both have had their fare share of recalls, reliability issues and more recently a class action lawsuit. With global Shortages at play and manufacturers Sharing suppliers and components im not sure we can accept the marketing bs of “reliability” for both Toyota and Isuzu regarding their dual cab models in the future. Sure, the land cruiser utes of old have an excellent reputation for reliability, and so they should, they continue to sell a product developed decades ago at exorbitant prices on the back of “reliability”. By no means am I saying the rangers are exempt, they are far from perfect and have had a range of issues during its life cycle, but with every year these “new” products are drawing level on the “reliability” front imo.

    Scott I read your article on car sales also, can you explain to me the pricing as you wrote "As tested, there is the not-insignificant matter of the $13,000 price difference and at $64,990 drive-away the X-Terrain is good value, putting it more in line with a 2.0-litre Ranger XLT", and at the end of the article there is the pricing again "How much does the 2022 Isuzu D-MAX X-Terrain cost? Price: $67,500 (plus on-road costs)". This would then put the D-max X-Terrain at around the $73000 drive away. A quick search for a new x-terrain came back at $76,888.

  • @addictedtosliding

    Hi David, as explained in the video, normally the D-Max is $67,500 plus on-roads so as you say, about $73K DA. However, Isuzu currently has an offer for $64,990 DA so at the moment that’s the price, but we have to list the regular price too as there’s no guarantee how long that special price will last. Does that make sense?

  • @Sabumnim666

    @Sabumnim666

    Жыл бұрын

    @@addictedtosliding Hi Scott thanks for the reply . I can not find the low price you were able to find, and in todays current shortage environment it must have been a very short offering. This then raises another question as to the pressure Isuzu are feeling, where at present cars are pulling huge dollars why then would there be a big price cut on a special when most cars are seeing huge wait times. Demand is the most influential price controller definitely not the good hearted car maker. So was that pricing a ploy by Isuzu to limit the gap between the 20+ year old D-max and how far behind it is compared with the New Ford Ranger ?
