New Isuzu looks awesome! I was wondering if you had any recommendations for any super reliable 4wd towing cars for towing horses? In my case the load would be approx. 2 tonne, but I have heard from a lot of car people that quite a few 4wds/ utes aren’t designed for or stable enough for that type of load, with two horses (500-600kg each) moving around/changing weight distribution during transit. Obviously Land Cruisers can’t be beaten, but the price point is an issue. Would something like the Navara V6 diesel be an option? Cheers, Chantelle.

Shows how good the MR Triton is and was. The MR took their first place on Ute of the Year test before value was factored in (and when value was factored in, it accelerated away further). If they are now saying the new Isuzu is a contender for the top spot it shows how far Mistubishi was ahead of the pack several years ago when MR came out. Glad Isuzu had caught up (albeit without full time 4wd which remains a Triton solo win and the Isuzu is much pricier). Cheers

I’m in the same boat. Currently looking at new 2019 plate GLS Prem for under 40k with towbar. Warranty doesn’t start until I drive away. I drove the DMAX and loved it. But with the towbar fitted to DMax, the difference is close to 18k. Yes, its a better car, but that saving pays for new wheels, canopy, springs, racks, etc. It’s a tough one. If I go ahead, will always think about the DMax but that is serious coin to put down excluding extras. Sounds like you got a great deal.
