Ford Ranger Raptor has 6 driving mode has more power and torque, definitely in this situation mud driving mode was activated that's why is seems so easy at all plus its stock tire is an all terrain. As per uploader at FB all vehicle involve here are all using an all terrain tire. Don't fell bad and don't think only your vehicle brand is good, this kind of terrain Ford Ranger Raptor has an advantage because of its design and technology. . .period!

Ranger Raptor has BFG's M/T tyres while i see normal A/T tyres on the others..... ofcourse the Ranger will cruise through without hiccups.... that fact aside, Ranger Raptor is truly a beauty of an offroader.... too bad we dont get it here in India.... we only get the SUV based version of Ranger, i.e. the Ford Everest...

Not because old vs new, but is because tyre spec!

The navara and hilux should deplete tires.

For a good comparative must equip all cars with the same tyres.

If the trucks do not have same tires it is not a good test. IMO! God Bless

When I was evaluating what truck to buy between Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux, one car review magazine said "Hilux is like Gerard Butler and Ranger is Vin Diesel, just choose between the two which image you would like to project"...well for me that settles it, I bought my Ranger (and no regrets knowing no need to compare except diff. Product) but this Raptor is no Gerard Butler nor Vin Diesel, its the "The Rock Dwayne Johnson".

Quality doesn't come cheap, for a Ford.. Really? I owned several Ford in my life including the 2010 and 2016 Ranger. None of them survive 100k miles without engine repairs. Are joking! You shouldn't mention the quality, mate. Now i ended up with the 2017 Hilux which is boring but, I've travelled 165k and not a single a repair. Apart from tyres, oils and brakes.

Standard vs Mud range tyre challenge more like it.

Compare like for like, 2019 Ford and 2015 hilux, that's not a fair comparison

Drove the weekend on some mud for the first time and my highway pattern continentals made my life very difficult. I will be fitting some more aggressive stuff month end.

You can wear the best shoes for the mud etc. but if you don't have it in your DNA there won't be any advantage.The raptor looks more designed for this terrain. This is what I've envisioned my T6 to look for the longest time didn't know I was thinking of a raptor!

Ford raptor's terrain management system.... in mud setting is an advantage. The new Mitsubishi Strada 4x4 with Super select II... in mud setting will easily do that too.

Those common rails held up fine, I would love to see which one lasts the longest overall. The Fords just impressive, the toyota just held that rev solid the whole way up and didnt flinch a sputter, the Navara did to with a bit of weight in the back. Solid stuff. Those utes are solid mate! Cheers!

Far from even a sphincter movement. I would say someone is making excuses for the other makes. Change the tyres 😢? I’ve owned 3 hiluxes and a land cruiser. They are all great utes. Just saying they don’t even come close to a Raptors off Road performance no matter what tyres you want to run.

Tyres are the key as you can see the Ranger has mud terrain tread the Hilux & Nissan seem to have highway tyres. To compare apples with apples put the same shoes on em all .. 😊👍

Rather than just the tires i think the suspension on the raptor is the key factor here. While the others crash into the holes and loose momentum the ranger seems to float over them barely losing any speed.

The pickup with the biggest tire and deepest tread wins. It's not about the vehicle itself, it's about the tires.

I think it should be COMPARED NOT VERSUS as the three clearly has different specs.

Ranger Raptor has 285/70 Mud tires, 2.0 Liter Bi-turbo Engine, 10 speed Auto Tranny and heavier than the rest, of course it will run on muds as it should be. On the other way around, the Hilux has a quiet heavier load than the Navara for the fact that it has 6 people on it including the driver of the hilux (Driver, 1 at the backseat and 4 at on the cargo) and it has 265/55 All Terrain Stock Tires packed on it. The last but definitely the not least regarding on specs is the Navara (NP300). As you can see on the video, clearly you can see that the first navara can't climb along with its rivals since it has only plain stock tires on it and clearly not designed for mud crossing adventures like this. The 2nd Navara has 2 people at the back and helped the car to pass thru a slippery clay type of mud as they sway their motion just to help the Navara to climb up coz they know that its plain stock tires would not grip much like the others. Of course if you will set them up like the Raptor tire specs it would just run fine coz, it was just too slippery for stock tires of these 2 Ute's... I've been a fan of these ute's and each of them has been designed according to their specs. Small Stock Plain Tires vs Bigger Stock Mud crossing / All Terrain Tires is a factor. Weight, Engine and transmission is also a factor. (But 10 Speed Auto would be too much for off road and would not use 6 speed gears and above) A Beginner vs Experienced driver is also a BIG factor.

Just wanna point something out to all the so-called pickup gurus. The Ranger Raptor is priced at $89990 for the top model. It's also designed to go offroad with custom shocks and tires built by BF specifically for it. The Nissan Navara doesn't try to squeeze massive amounts of power out of it's engine, and doesn't have custom made suspension. Yet it comes in at $56,990 for the top model. The Hilux also doesn't have the same suspension trickery and tires as the Ford, neither the purposely overpowered engine. It costs $63,690 for the top of the range model. Thats $26k between them. You can spend that on upgrades, then you'll beat the crap out of tge glorified Ford. Same goes for the Nissan, spwnd the difference on upgrades and Ford owners would cry their engine oil away.

Lux and Nav driver are noobs. Going 4H on a steep and slippery terrain and w/o dif lockers they clearly noobs. Ranger was on 4L lock and with bigger mud tires of course we are seeing One way show here.

When it comes to getting traction 4H is the gear to select because of the speed it carrys 4L is to slow, with a good set of mud tyres hitting that hill at speed I reckon it's possible to get up in 2wd , the power of speed and momentum.

I don't think you know 4x4 nevermind tyres? You DO realise the ford was the only one that didn't have standard tyres on and had mud range on. This was more of a tyre challenge than anything else - put same tyre on all the cars and you'll see.

truck expert here.. an Isuzu D - Max if given the same tire which used by the raptor would easily climb up the mud terrain as smooth and the ford raptor did.. perhaps the hilux and navara owner is to cheap on spending money for the proper wheel set
