The building is sometimes called Hotel California. It was built by Grover Marler, a riverboat captain. A search on google and you can see what it used to look like and see his story about how he tried to hold out against the TVA when they were building the LBL.

Thanks for the history. We were wondering about it but couldn’t find anything in depth on the history of it. 🤘🏻😎

The shells at the lake are a result of people exercising their 2A rights haha , what goes better w the outdoors and 4×4, here in Ak we all have guns especially when in the putdoors as we have , bears, wolves, and other various dangers and even have had sightings of mt lions... common to see shells on the ground 😅

There was lots of shotgun shells all over this one part of the coast. We had been several other places at land between the lakes and none of them besides this location had the amount of shells on the ground like this one. It was a quite a bit out of the norm. Very interesting for sure. It really gave an Erie feeling.

That was a thought that went through our minds but we believe it to be something called bryozoans colonies.
