Ford Mustang GT350. Revell 1/24 Scale. Full Build.
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Full build step by step of Revell's 1/24 scale Ford Mustang Shelby GT350. This model car was completed for the #mustang60 group build hosted by @ScaleSpeedworks. I had many self inflicted issues on this scale model kit but I'm still glad I was able to support the group build.
Thank you to @ScaleSpeedworks for hosting the group build. Make sure you check out his channel here: / @scalespeedworks
Special thank you to @MRLINSSCALEMODELING for his great video of this kit; I used it as a guide for building mine. Please check out his incredible work here: / @mrlinsscalemodeling

No, those decals were a pain! I think you did an admirable job at applying them! Blue tape is dangerous! It WILL remove decals when you don't want them removed as well!

Well this time using blue tape that was exactly what I needed the tape to do was remove them.
At my level of modeling currently, I would be more than satisfied.. Thank for sharing.

That was great! You can never go wrong with black on a muscle car interior… In the absence of kit decals for interior details and badging, I’ll try to either use photoetch from Model Car Garage or decal sets from Keith Marks or Ray’s Kit Decals. Whenever I try to paint badges or scripts, it looks like I finger painted them during a withering artillery barrage.

Lol, got me good with that last sentence. It is definitely tough to do. I'll look into those decals, thanks for the tip!
The lowering technique worked out great, I did not think of it that way I learned something new.Painting the strip's was a great idea I've seen others that do the same with this kit. The color for the body looks very similar to to the Bullitt 68 Mustang looks awesome. Different to the Black looks awesome.Cheers

Thanks, give this lowering method a try if you have similar style hubs in the future, it worked out well.
Nice stang I have the same kit... I learned a long time ago to place decals on a multi curved surface to cut it in multiple areas then apply to the panel to avoid the wrinkling

@@scaleffect NP Brotha..... My rule of thumb was to break it down to how many faces and/or angles the area is being decaled and cut the decal for each face and leave it very wet.... Then after they are all placed just slide each faces decal till they all lineup..... Be patient & it will work great..... Be very careful of your clearcoating over those areas.... Use very light coats to keep the edges from moving till clear is fully cured
Great result and very good video. I could feel the pain when removing the decals. It looks much better with painted stripes. Best regards!

Thank you, I certainly wanted to give up lol, but having a deadline helped me carry on.
I love your color choice here, given that some of those Hertz cars did come in different colors. When I built this very same kit two years ago, I found there was one decal on this car that shriveled up on me, and that was the one between the bottom of the grille and the front bumper. I also had to order a grille from Revell because for whatever reason it was left off the sprue in my example. I built the standard GT350 about 30 years ago and I painted on the stripes with that particular build, and since these stripes aren't as complicated as others can be, I think it's actually a good idea to do so. On the first build I actually painted the logo on the grille too! Seems I was a bit braver when I was younger.

Congratulations on the work, a tip, I usually reinforce the glued corners internally with micropore adhesive and CA glue, which reinforces the union and prevents it from coming loose during assembly.

If you have a scanner its a good idea to scan your decal sheet before using them in case you need to reference them or replace them.

I’ll tell you what, this build you did is amazing, the decals are extremely hard to place, so painting them was a great idea, and you used a great technique. Yes Lin is a great model builder but I’m subscribing to your channel, cause I love how you specified all your ratios of paint to thinner, and because you are also an amazing builder. thank you, I appreciate it!!

Hi there. Just wan5 to say that I really enjoyed your video. It was pleasant to follow you along and see how you did. I have to say I much prefer your open hones build method, the mistakes along the way, what you found challenging, what you found to make things easier. This was much better than the super professional guys I watch like PLASMO. Don’t get me wrong they are good for teaching techniques, but they do a lot of upgrades. Thanks again. Oh and as a figure painter, they tricolour for the mustang symbol. Paint the white in the centre fist. Then either edge the red and blue leaving the white or cut a 1 mm mask strip in half lay it then do the red and blue edge colours. Easier than trying the white after the red and blue. Will be a subscriber and keen to see more of your work.

Thank you, a bit challenging but probably the best fitting car I've built so far. The first two I tried were AMT brand and proved more difficult for me.
Great finish and well done pushing through the issues. Rapid thinners are recommended for metallics, and is all I use now for them. Just found channel and subbed. 😊

The ones with the colored collars are PCB metric drill bits I purchased on Amazon. The #80 drill bit comes from a set I've had since I was a kid, I purchased them at a model train store, but I believe MicroMark sells the set. It's like #60-#80 drill bits.
Despite the issues you run into, turned out beautiful, I love the painted on stripes, I built this kit years back and had same concerns with decals even after cutting relief points, color and paint looks great love the build great video!!
