Where on the driveshaft (and or tube) is the point that locates the d/s with respect to the tube? Is it the bushing face that you cut and the u-joint end and hole location in the d/s and u-joint? I can understand the shimming on the pinion end to set lash.

The drive shaft is held in place by the u joint. You need to face the upper bushing so there is no end play on the shaft. Forgot to show on video there is a fiber washer same size as axle. Goes between both axles in the spider gear housing.

@@KlepsGarage thanks ....looked at a lot of rearend vids, but most kind of glossed over the d/s and tube details....cross country t showed a tube to diff housiing that took up d/s thrust with a tapered roller setup, must be aftermarket?

Yes adjustable tapered shaft is aftermarket. Once there set. They last a long time.

Really been looking for someone doing a TT worm drive rear axle. They probably aren't too different from the T axles but they are definitely heavier and lower geared with an entirely different design. Great video and keep the cool stuff coming ,,,,,,, THANKS ,,,,,,,

I’ve never tore one apart but the design is very similar except for the worm which lays on top the ring. Should build the same one half at a time. Remember Ford was assembling them at speed. Parts where made to fit without adjustments.

So where were you last summer when I was putting my T diff together and pulling my hair out. lol By far the hardest thing I done to the T. Great video

LOL I know what you mean. watched your driveshaft vid. I should have went into detail on how to put the sleeve on the drive shaft. First you want to make sure its is a 1 inch bore (after market sleeves are not at one inch) The original Ford sleeves will have Hiatte (sp) stamped on them and they are one inch inside dia. Also (Tip) put driveshaft in freezer and sleeve in oven MAX 250deg about i/2 hour. should slip right on. then put key in to line up sleeve. Thanks for watching. Shoot more train vids!!

@@KlepsGarage Why do after market vendors insist on doing things like that! It is not the first time I ran into things like that with new T parts.

Already have, and filmed front axle. Will air in a couple weeks. Still limited of what we show because he is a minor.
